Never mind grabbing a smoothie here. They make it so easy and quick. Friendly staff.

This is the worst Tropical Smoothie location I have ever been to. The smoothies were watered down. No flavor. The staff was rude. Person doing food talked bad about my husband asking about the order. The other worker doing smoothies was distracted and talking to someone else. The smoothies were terrible - and we ordered the same that are usually great at every other location in the Richmond area. Just not a good representation of the chain. read more

I was trying you purchase an Açaí Bowl for my daughter before her soccer tournament, so I showed up just after 7am on Friday morning (sign says they open at 7am) and all the lights were off. I was on my phone trying to figure out another option when finally around 7:10 some lights came on. I went to the door (which was locked) and the woman inside refused to make eye contact for 5 minutes, at one point even walking right by me to check out a loud noise outside. Finally at 7:15am she actually acknowledged my existence only to give me major attitude yelling from behind the counter that they weren't open yet, that she was still prepping things. She was incredibly rude given that the sign clearly says they open at 7am and she was the one that was late for work. She could have politely apologized that she was running a little late, not yelled at me like I was in the wrong. I ended up getting my daughter a bagel sandwich at Cupertino's down the road instead (I highly recommend them). I'm sure my daughter will request an açaí bowl on this trip, but I don't want to give this place my business after that experience. read more

I got the island green smoothie ($7) to go and it was made within a few minutes. The smoothie felt a bit watery at the beginning, but slowly began to taste better after drinking it some more (probably not mixed thoroughly). The actual flavor was good a little more tart than I expected. It was quite big which helped justify the cost. The inside was clean and the staff was nice. read more

Gee, where to start. Placed an order (two smoothies, two yogurt bowls and three cheese chicken quesadillas) over the phone. When I arrived to pick the order, no one was in the front of the shop for takeout. After a few minutes, I called to the back to inform the staff of customers waiting. When someone finally appeared I was told the other items she told me only drinks were order. The manager "(?) " then took the rest of the order and went to the back to have someone staff the front. I heard as she tried to get someone to complete the order, two in the back said they were on a break. After all was said, she filled the order herself. Arriving back home the chicken quesadillas missing the "dipping sauce" and the fruit / yogurt bowls were incomplete as stated. read more

This was not a great store. There was no toilet paper in the women's restroom. None! When we walked in the store was full of people waiting for their drinks. I'm not sure the workers knew how to do things. The store behind the counter was disgusting. There was a bunch of food and knives laying about. Another worker came out and saved the day. However, the store was a disaster. read more

Smoothie always tastes bland and as if all the ingredients are not being used. I order the same smoothie at other stores and it tastes different than here. Its not even close to the bahama mama i get at other stores. read more

Just went to this location to get my friend a smoothie after her wisdom tooth surgery. and the quality was awful. If you accidentally walk in front of a worker and say sorry, they'll verbally attack you and say "why would you do that" "what's your problem". Service was awful. Smoothie was awful. Don't go here. read more

I love smoothies! Especially the island green smoothies and the sunrise smoothie! I have the app so it's a tropical breeze to order and pick up when you're in a hurry! I also grab the breakfast all American wrap for a protein packed bfast on the go! This location is just as bright and festive as their sister locations, colorful and cheerful. Yet, this one is not as fast service and is messier than some of the stores closer to my house, so I'll stick to the ones in my neighborhood! That said, I'm always in the mood for some refreshing smoothies! read more

Let me first start off by saying the Food and Smoothies at Tropical Smoothie are always good. This review is for service on December 22, 2023. I placed an order in house for two pomegranate plunge and two Thai Chicken wraps (one with faux chicken). The cost, almost $28 when I received the pomegranate plunge smoothies one was almost full the other not so full, $28 my cup should be full or am I wrong? I shouldn't have to ask what happened, should I? The response from the employee was, "I can make more" he continued to perform his duties without making "more". I left the store with my two wraps and not so full pomegranate plunges. read more

The restaurant is filthy. Your shoes stick to the floor. The bathroom is disgusting. The entire place needs a good clean. I have always liked their menu but this site is terrible. read more

Walked in and immediately walked out. This place was filthy. Containers of food and condiments were sitting on top of the counter exposed to any and everybody who came into the store. The place that held other food was kicked with old and dried spillage that look like it had been there for weeks. My daughter and I decided that this place was not sanitary and we immediately left. read more

I haven't been to Tropical Smoothie in years & decided to try it again since a couple of local smoothie places I would go to have recently shut down. So far I've been to this location 3 times. The first time to order to-go and the second two times I have ordered on the app. I am a huge fan of ordering on the app now that I've tried it twice. My orders were ready right when I arrived even though the store was very busy. The chicken pesto quesadilla was super good and so was the Santa Fe chicken quesadilla. The smoothies were very good too. I look forward to going back. read more

Friendly staff especially in the morning. Smoothies are always great and made fast. Sometime the store is a little cluttered but if see the small space the employees are working in it's more understandable when they're busy read more

I can't thank these guys enough! Our dasher had stopped in and forgotten a portion of our orders. The manager of the store called us and let us know what was going on. We called him back to see what we could do and he went above and beyond! He offered to deliver them to us, which he did! Truly appreciated everything! And thank you to the rest of the staff for the amazing food and drinks! read more

Staff is courteous even when they were busy. Smoothie were delicious and the food was good.

The food and smoothies are always great, it's the service that's hit or miss. A woman working today was in a terrible mood and cursing. Then while taking my order & I asked for no kale, she started saying I would never notice and it wouldn't make sense to take it out. I WOULD notice, considering I'm allergic. She's a lawsuit waiting to happen. read more

Lady was making my smoothie with an unlit cigarette hanging from her mouth. Wasn't friendly at all. Smoothie was tasteless.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Walked in for the first time to this location on 8/9/24 at 1230pm and several people were waiting for food and two workers behind the counter. The store looked trashed, messy, and staff unorganized behind the counter. We waited in line several minutes and the African American lady came up to take our order. She immediately had an attitude and mumbled, "what do you need?" I had several orders to place so began with the first one and she acted irritated that I was apparently taking too long to tell her my order. My daughter tried to tell me no tomatoes and she rolled her eyes and snipped at me "what side??" I said "chips" because all the locations I've been to prior have the chips for you to pick from outside the counter. She literally rolled her eyes AGAIN and said "WHICH ONES??" After that I said "don't worry about it" and left. I refuse to be in an establishment where basic customer service skills are absent. Clearly the franchise owner doesn't care about who he hires at this location. You need to do some training and house cleaning of your employees. When I walked out my teenage kids who got up from the stools told me she she said "I don't got time for this BS. This is a 9-5 job, I don't have to deal with this sh*t." Really?? YOU don't have to deal with being polite to your customers? Well, no worries; you've lost one. read more

I think they picked the fruits fresh from the Tropical islands with how long it took them to make TWO shakes. The 'Dillas were done in a timely manner, but the shakes took 30+ minutes to finish. Moreover, there were way too many trash on the tables. Half-eaten cookies and empty wrappers. They only have 3 people, but the lady doing the cashier also did the food AND ended up helping out with the drinks too. Everyone else was moving in the speed of a grandparent who has back issues after their zumba session. Food was great though. Service just lacks haste. read more

I walked in the place was NASTY, nothing was wiped down. Counters nasty, tables nasty. NOTHING or NO ONE was professional in that place of business. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Arrived at 5:45p Departed at 5:55p Dropped by for smoothie, watched store employees prepare menu items while waiting at register without being greeted/acknowledged for 10mins. Poor Customer Service. This is not my go-to or normal location, but I find myself here on occasion when out shopping or running errands. It's a much different layout than most TSC locations, smaller IMO. The staff generally are okay-fast service but not super personable if that makes sense. No issues with my smoothies here as they are rather consistent at this location regardless of flavor I select. However, when it comes to food at this location that is where my experiences have been more inconsistent. I've just learned that places like this order what they are known for (smoothies) and leave the rest and you will remain happy. read more

By far thee WORST Tropical Smoothie location in Central Virginia. I witnessed a very nasty attitude displayed by an employee named Celeste after the location experienced a power outage. Celeste should not be in customer service. If management chooses to ignore this type of behavior the store will lose loyal customers. I won't be returning. read more

This location went from 5 stars to negative 5 stars. This place is hit or miss with the smoothies and food. Some days it's good but most days it's not. It's like rolling dice. It's overly crowded during lunch time, so if your time is limited then don't go here for lunch. There's usually 1-2 people working out front during its busiest times, which makes it slower than other restaurants during lunch. read more

Poor service- 2 employees couldn't get orders made and processed. It took over 45 minutes to get 1 smoothie from them.

I have passed Tropical Smoothie many times, and I was always under the impression it just sold Smoothie Drinks and nothing else. However, I ran into a young Lady who works there and she told me how they make great sandwiches and other items.... so I thought I would check it out. I was looking for something light since it was a Hot Day here Richmond and when I entered.... I found the place very busy and also very clean. In addition, I saw a sign which said $5.99 for a Flatbread Sandwich, Chips and Drink. Not a bad price for lunch. So I looked at their menu to see what they had in the way of choices and I decided on the Chipotle Chicken Club on Flatbread. I than asked for the Jalapeno chips. I did not get a Smoothie for $2. more as I get these awful Ice Cream headaches and I knew I would have a problem with the drink, however they look delicious being served to the other customers. I am giving it 4 Stars, for a couple of reasons. The sandwich I ordered said it came it with Bacon. In fact, the sandwich had such a small piece of Bacon on it.... it would have taken a magnifying glass to see it. This was one of the reasons why I ordered this sandwich. The sandwich did not have any Bacon flavor to it at all.... In addition, the Chipotle Mayonnaise they put on the sandwich was mostly Mayonnaise... it had NO bite to it when it came to the Chipotle Flavor. Very disappointing.... In fact, my Jalapeno Chips had more bite to it than the Chipotle Mayonnaise. I posted a photo of the Chipotle Chicken Club... You will see, how there is NO Bacon... :-( So, I do not think I will order this sandwich again... Also, what was disappointing the Gentleman who took my order did not tell me about the extended menu which they carry, so I was under the impression what you saw on the board was what you could ONLY order.... Since he was the order taker, he should have asked if I had seen the extended menu which they keep in a folder. Again, after discovering this on the way out, I was extremely disappointed as I saw several other items I liked. I will go back, as the sandwich was good but not great, but at a good price. So, if you get a chance and you are looking for something good and fresh... Tropical Smoothie is the place to go. I look forward in returning.... :-) read more

the reason I am leaving one star is because the service all its not that good it looks a mess in there, not a friendly atmosphere; the lady slammed my bag on the counter and when I was telling her my order, she didn't let me finish saying what I had to say, she talked over me and ask what side did I want. lastly she had a attitude walking around texting on her phone with her gloves on..... don't go here until they tighten up read more

I am a rewards member and frequently get Tropical Smoothie from multiple locations in Richmond. I went earlier today and got a smoothie that was just awful. The ingredients weren't correct and the smoothie wasn't blended fully, so my straw kept getting full with big pieces of ice. I ended up taking the top off and eating my smoothie. Definitely choosing a different location next time. read more

August 31 - arrived at 8:37pm with a group of 6 family members and two young children. Manager had already given us an attitude with his facial expression. Didn't look friendly, didn't say hello. Manager asked "are you guys ready to order?" My husband replied and said that the rest of the family was still making their way in as we had young children with us as it takes some time to get them out of the car. After not even a minute later he then asked "can I at least get started on anything" as he was loudly tapping his fingers on the cash register impatiently and he kept doing it until we finally placed an order. After taking our orders we overheard the manager keep repeating to the other employees "20 minutes" (I'm assuming it means that's the time until they close) as if he was impatient to get off work. Even though we had a right to stay and eat our food we chose not to bc we understood they closed at 9pm. As we left, more people came after us at 8:58 pm. Food was as expected but service from the manager was extremely poor. No complaint to the rest of the staff. They were quiet but friendly when they spoke to us. read more
