T.L.C. (Tender Lovin' Chicken) with 4 Tenders + Tater Tots, Just Wing It with 10 Smoked Wings (all flats) + Small Fries

This was my first time at the Cocky Rooster Short Pump location. I haven't been to the original location in years because it was usually on the pricier side for the portion. I was pleasantly surprised with this visit. The side portions were extremely generous for smalls and the chicken tenders were more like chicken breasts. They have so many sauces and dry rubs to choose from. I like that they allow you to choose a dry rub for your fries to spice them up and set them apart from standard fries. Extra sauces like ranch are an extra charge and they provide plenty to make it worth it. This location was very busy on a Friday night. I highly recommend ordering take out in advance. They do have seating inside if you prefer dining in.

These are the best wings in the RVA for sure. They are meaty, crispy, and the sauces pack a punch. The buffalo/truffalo isn't greasy and the smoked wings are also amazing. The fries are amazing. They have to optional to get the dry rubs on the fries and they are bartered. I crave this weekly! The service is also so great! the same guy has been in every time we pick up our order and he is so welcoming and always offers us a water or conversation!

Great overall experience. If you love chicken, and love sauces, you won't be disappointed. Plenty of sauce options. The chicken tenders are bigger than you think. Flat, crispy and almost like a chicken cutlet. The smoked wings are amazing!! Exactly what I came for and exactly what I got. A bit pricey but totally worth it

I got the smoked wings and sweet potatoes fry combo. For the wings I got the vampire parm (garlic parmesan) and for the fries the cool ranch rub. The smoked wings had a good Smokey smell and taste to it, the meat was juicy. I would've liked it a bit more if they could've been a bit more crispy. The sweet potatoes fries were also really good, sweet and salty although didn't taste like ranch. The serving seize was perfect for $13. Definitely a nice spot to check out for fried chicken or wings. Food: 7.8 Staff/service: n/a Overall: 7.8/10

we did an online order for 25 wings - they were ready on time and hot/fresh about 15 minutes. I was very happy as the size of the wings are large and worth the $40. i will gladly pay over buffalo wild wings small wings - cheap taste. We decided on the fried this time and the parm garlic and the korean bbq. Both had flavor all the way thru and thru. :) only thing that would be better is some homemade ranch...5 stars worthy !

I started eating my food in the car and we had to turn the car around to see if this place was real and try some more flavors! The K-Town Rolex (Korean BBQ) boneless chicken was saucy, crunchy and full of flavor. I'm talking "what else can I dip in this stuff?" The Lemon Pep Talk (Lemon Pepper Dry Rub) bone-in was also exceptional. Somehow you could taste each spice individually without losing the lemon zest. It was a journey of flavor. I loved the murals and the hip hop theme throughout the building but one of the best things about this spot is the people. I was welcomed, the workers were cooking, happy, had good music playing and were interacting with everyone that came in. That is an anomaly these days. This Rooster deserved 5 gold chains . Overall: 10/10 Location: 8/10 Short Pump. Parking wasn't too hard to find but it's on the smaller side and it's busy. Prices: 8/10 You won't get a bargain, but it's worth the price. Customer Service: 10/10 Food: 10/10

Overall Taste The Cocky Rooster had every right to be COCKY! This place did not disappoint in flavor, quality, and quantity. While pricey, this visit was worth every penny spent. Our first order of wings and fries was so good we ordered some more while eating. Customer Service was slow because they were busy, but helpful and friendly. This place reflected how busy they were (low key dirty, but not enough for me to skip a meal). All I can say is "WE'LL BE BACK!"

    Sliders and fries

Came in for my first time today. I've been looking for a great wing spot/ hot chicken spot. FOUND IT! I ordered the sliders with red beards ghost sauce and fries with ranch dry rub. It was SO GOOD & SO HOT. If you like a flavorful hot sauce, get this. If you don't like to sweat, don't order this. 4/5 stars for a couple reasons.. 1. You order in a tablet not to a server/cashier. 2. the menu is all "a la carte"- your sandwich doesn't come with fries/celery/blue cheese or ranch. I'll be back though. 3. You can't customize the sandwiches (you can't change the sauce and there are only 4 choices) I'll be back though, the food was great.

I had been meaning to try this spot for a while and finally made it in. At first it was hard to tell if they were truly open due to the layout of the seating and the ordering set up. Ordering is done at kiosks and there are a few tables. It definitely seems like this is meant to be more of a to go place, I just felt odd sitting in there. My food took a little while, not super long but longer than I expected being the only one there. I ordered boneless wings-half with coach's garlic buff and the other half K-town Rolex. I enjoyed the garlic buffalo the most. Fries were decent but nothing to write home about. I would definitely come back to try some other options.

My husband ordered the chicken sandwich and you could order any wing sauce of your choice for your chicken. He chose the honey bbq. Side of fries. I got the loaded potato with broccoli and cheese (you could add bacon for a little extra which I wish I had, since it would have elevated it) and a side salad. The food came out and it was very fresh and made to order. My husband took a bite of his sandwich and immediately dropped it. His eyes began to water and I said "what's wrong?" He just said "HOT". I thought he meant the chicken was hot. Oh no. Once he got his bearings together and could speak he said that was not honey bbq . He doesn't do spicy. He was sucking down water like no tomorrow. I had seen enough tik toks to know that was only intensifying it. . I told him to hold on and let's wait and ask for a milk. He told the waiter who said the staff in the back didn't speak English and may have gotten wrong and took it back right away (come to find out it was the spicy inferno sauce, not sure you don't need a waiver for that one lol). He brought out more water and a milk which did help. The manager did come and check on my husband. Which was very sweet. It was an honest mistake and definitely one to talk about. It was a cute little place and a very nice place. They fixed his meal and put the honey bbq on the next one. It was a funny ride home though, he couldn't feel his lips the rest of the day. This restaurant merits a 4 or 5 star rating on most dimensions. The reason for the 1-star review is the safety hazard that is the men's restroom. The floor leading to the rest rooms is always slippery. Everyone knows that and it is common in certain restaurants, I've noticed. However, this means the floors in the restrooms need to stay dry. Every single time I have gone into the men's room, I have nearly slipped and fell. Last night, I caught myself before falling and made a mental note to step carefully. But even trying my very best, I still nearly fell two more times before exiting the room. The reason I am finally writing a review about what I've observed on numerous visits is the fact that I observed an employee, who was working behind the bar, go into the bathroom. Surely, he was aware of the hazard. A trained employee (and a responsible one) would immediately go get a mop and clean that mess up. If not for safety, at least for public health. This guy didn't, and that was the final straw for me. I'll be back in a few weeks. If I see that the issue is finally resolved, I'll change this rating to a 4 or 5. Until then, this is basically the only way to potentially get someone's attention.

The last time I was here was a year ago and I remember thinking the prices were higher than I'd remembered and the service wasn't so good. I just chalked it up to a bad night. Well, last night my family and I decided to visit Glory Days to treat some family from out of town. The food was just terrible (dry and cold) and the service was even worse. I literally didn't eat my food and I never even got a refill on my drink (not because I didn't ask, however). And what's up with the worn out cushions on the seats? They're just laying on the bench (not attached) with all kinds of crumbs and grossness down in the cracks. Absolutely unacceptable to expect someone to eat in those conditions. I never thought I'd be saying this, but I can promise you that this is the last time I will ever walk inside this establishment. If things don't improve, I honestly don't know how they can stay in business long-term. Glory Days used to be a place I looked forward to taking my family to wind down from a hard day's work and spend quality time together. Now I just consider it a disgrace.

Upon entering, the hostess greeted us and, at our request, seated us outside because it was a beautiful day. The restaurant venue and ambiance were modern and well kept. The bathroom was clean and nice. The outside seating area was also fairly clean with comfortable seating. Our server (neither my partner nor I caught her name as she said it: she had beautiful braids with blonde streaks woven in) started on the right foot, took our orders promptly, and brought out our waters. I ordered the Smothered Pork Chop, and my partner chose the Fried Chicken, subbed pimento mac and cheese for the collard greens (who can blame her?). The food did not come out promptly. My best guess is that our server was seated with a large table and prioritized a better tip over the two top (us) outside. Eventually, the food came out (~25 minutes, so not terrible), but for the number of patrons in the restaurant, it was too long. My partner's mashed potatoes were cold, but she said the fried chicken and mac and cheese were fantastic. The potatoes tasted delicious, but they were simply not warm. My pork chop was very thick, like a filet, which is okay, but it wasn't what I expected. I prefer a thin pork chop, so that it cooks all the way through (more solid, not soft). It was passable. The beans and rice (Hoppin' John) were also not what I was expecting; I was thinking more New Orleans-style, but they were bland, like cream of mushroom soup on unseasoned beans and rice. We ordered the banana pudding for dessert. We ended up waiting for that for ~20 minutes as well, a half-pint glass of banana pudding with underripe bananas mixed in. Note to the chef: heat ripens bananas, so you could toss a few in a skillet with a little oil in a pinch (egg yolks also work). We waited for another 10 minutes, and I finally went inside and asked the hostess for the check. I realize it is difficult to serve, but you must also consider asking your colleagues for help if you have too much going on. All in all, the food was satisfactory, but the service was lacking. We ended up waiting an hour longer than we should have had to. I semi-recommend Farm and Oak, but look to be seated with the better server, John. He and the hostess saved our experience.
