Every time I've visited this location it's a good experience. It's always clean and people are friendly. I always get the same thing with the same substitutions with no problem at all and I really appreciate that. Unfortunately some places give you a hard time about substituting ingredients but not the case here. I will continue to recommend this location. read more

Nothing worst than a pre-made, rock hard Açaí bowl. The effort to make the base of an açaí bowl is akin to making smoothies which they do all day so why pre-make and refreeze the base for an $11 açaí bowl. After a 15 minute commute home it was still rock hard and difficult to enjoy. They also required me to come inside to pick up an order done through the app versus one of the employees who were just sitting around on their phones simply handing it to me through the drive thru window. They are under new management now, and when I say I have never felt so unwelcomed in another establishment. They don't greet you, say "you're welcome" to your "thank you"s. They almost act as if you patronizing their store is an inconvenience to them. But that's not the worst part. PLEASE do not come to this location!!They do not sanitize nor clean things whatsoever. How do I know? I ordered an açaí bowl and there were shreds of lettuce in it. Assuming it came from them making a wrap for a previous order, but still... just disgusting. So, let's talk about the Tropical Smoothie on Germantown Pkwy. My daughter got a job on the spot by a gentleman named Sam. She was told to come into work on Saturday from 12-4 by the manager. This was her very first day. She came in to work and Sam the manager wasn't even there to orient her. The older employees didn't even know a new girl was coming even the lady that was supposed to train her. So, instead of her filling out W-2s and figuring out how to clock in, they made her stand in a corner and watch them. And when they needed something out of the oven, they instructed her to pull the extremely hot pans out of the oven without safety mitts and only her bare hands, to which she was told, 'she'll get used to it.' If she messed anything up, they would talk amongst themselves in their native language making her feel judged. At 3:30 my daughter is sending me distress calls to come get her. Soooo, if you are looking for a job and go to Tropical Smoothie on Germantown Pkwy, think TWICE because they are looking for free labor, they don't train, and Sam the manager, if that's his name, will NOT return messages to new hires when they are thrown into the wild. Ok first I will say that the food is REALLY good... and well prepared ... but THAT's where the good ends...! Literally EVERY-TIME I order from them, typically using a delivery service ..they leave something off my order... EVERY time.. and it's often! At least every week.. it's horrid... wish I didn't dig the food so much or I just wouldn't order from them ... This time ...wait for it..They actually left off... This is an ideal location. It's easily accessible from Germantown Parkway and it's right in front of LA Fitness. This is a plus because they don't have a restaurant inside. This location was also an ideal meetup for my friend and her teen. The Watermelon Mojito smoothie was very light and refreshing. It was just what I needed after a workout earlier. The bbq chicken flatbread was very tasty. There was a good portion of meat & veggies and the accompanying kale salad was tasty too. I look forward to returning soon. read more

I'm here now and they couldn't be more unprofessional and unfriendly. I can see why the get the lowest marks. I came in the store and there is NO ONE INSIDE and 2 cars in the drive thru. Still they neither acknowledged my presence nor took my order. I had to step out to get my credit card and there was a lady behind me. I go Out to get my card and come back in all in less than a minute and they had taken this white lady's order. I get back in line and STILL THEY DIS NOT ACKNOWLEDGE MY PRESENCE. After about 4-5 minutes a young lady just steps up to the cash register and looks at me. Did say May I help you or anything. I just gave her my order and she spoke so soft in such noises environment with blenders going , that I had to keep asking her to repeat herself. They were quick with the order but this is why I DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY TIP. Tips are performance based and they did NOT earn it but they certainly earned this review. This is my third and last visit here. I just threw away most of my lunch. Wilted vegetables on my Thai Chicken wrap and it just didn't taste right. After just a couple of bites I felt it was better to just tap out and not take a chance. Well, they have done it again! We tried to give the Germantown Road location a second chance and yet another disaster. Shame on us for thinking our previous issue was just a one time thing. Nope! Still horrible customer service and management. It is truly astounding how this location is still in business after seeing all of the 1-star reviews. Just save yourself the heartache and money and go somewhere else or to at least another location. They will gladly keep your money and not provide you with what you ordered. The service is absolute trash, slow, and constantly getting ppl's orders wrong (2 cars ahead of me had to send back food). They lack customer service and forgot my food (closed window on me while only giving me my smoothie). It seemed like they hired all new workers to work the same shift and no one knew what they were doing and it was obvious. So this is my 2nd time here but first time inside. The only reason they are not getting 5 stars is because they don't have WiFi. There is ample seating and along the wall there are outlets which provide the perfect place to set up and work. Although they don't have WiFi, they are next to a pizza rev which does and their guest service is strong enough to reach next door. I got the island green smoothie which is really good. And it's big for $5.45. Just make sure to bring earphone if you plan to work because it can get loud in here. Definitely not a place you go to if you a conference call scheduled. The customer service was good from I experienced and witnessed so for the negative reviews, mngt may have made adjustments since those were written. If i can give this 0 star. I definitely will. My first time tried Tropical Smoothies was at the Winchester location and I fell in love with the Avocolada smoothie. So today I wanted to get the same smoothie for my lunch and decided to go to this location since it closer to my work. Drove 15mins to this place. Ordered the exact same smoothie ( Avocolada with whole avocado, add chia seed and multivitamins). However, the drink was terrible. It was watered down after 3 mins, I did not taste any avocado, feel like they only put 1/4 of avocado and then the rest of it was ice. At first, this tropical was the only tropical smoothie I liked going to. Now, I don't know if it's a new staff or what, but they started closing too early, lines became extremely crowded in waiting time, and staff was more on edge. This was my second visit to this location. My first visit went well and the Baja chicken wrap was spot on and the service was and friendliness was second to none. I must have messed up and went back. I stood and waited.....and waited.....and waited. No 'I'll be with you shortly', 'welcome to Tropical Smoothie', or 'just a minute fool and I'll take your stupid order'. NOTHING! They just continued to clean the blenders and the grill and take drive thru orders. I walked out and another lady walked in. I have been to this location a dozen times or so and have had good experiences-- I usually go inside but occasionally go through the drive-thru. Tonight was really, really bad. It took almost 30 minutes between the speaker and the window at the drive-thru. Then pull up to the window-- and they retake my order (no wonder it was so slow). Then, a couple of minutes later, another lady came to the window and took my order for the THIRD time (nothing complicated-- a flatbread and a smoothie). I get home and find a hair in the sandwich. I have been coming to this location for about a month and every-time i come there it is a long wait. I usually go before work, the past few times there is only 1 or 2 cars in the drive thru but the wait times are horrible. You will spend at least 15 minutes waiting on your smoothie. I really wanted to try this because I love smoothies and this is close to my house. I ordered a Passion Point through the drive through and drove around to the window. Over 5 minutes later and noone acknowledged me. Noone took my money nor said "just one moment" or anything. I saw a couple of people inside but they avoided eye contact. I had to be somewhere this evening, otherwise maybe I would of tried to wait a little longer. The employees are aggressive, rude, ignorant, and willing to fight tooth and nail to insist they didn't mess up your order where any other establishment would simply apologize and offer to fix the mistake. I just got off a THIRTY MINUTE call with them and I'm still shaking. Be careful - if you start to win the argument, they will accuse YOU of being verbally abusive, and if you ask how or why they think so, they will dodge the question. They will also not let you speak to a manager of any kind, even if you plead with them, and they will say things like "um, we have a job to get back to" if you let them know an item was wrong.
