I stopped in to Tropical Smoothie for the first time this week. The weather was a little warmer, and I wanted something to cool me off. But I wanted something healthier than ice cream. I ordered the Mango Magic smoothie made with mango, pineapple and non-fat yogurt. Service was friendly and fast. My smoothie was ready in less than five minutes. And I loved the fruity refreshing flavor. I will definitely stop in again to try other smoothie flavors as well as some food. read more

I love the smoothie's and my kids always leave happy with their Chocolate Chimp, and me with a Avocolada or Health Nut. The food was a bit lacking today as usual, with my Thai salad having very little chicken and the side of Kale Slaw being so tough (needed smaller pieces or different kale) that it was discarded. I also had coupons for a free smoothie with purchase of sandwich/salad/wrap from a Jumbo Shrimp game giveaway. My kids and I went to the game so each received the coupon, but when I tried to use two they said that it's one per person. But I had my kids with me, and it didn't say one per party. This is my favorite TSC location hands down! For what it is, they're pretty phenomenal here. They're usually teens and young adults employed at this location so sometimes the energy is a bit much and there's almost always only two identities you deal with at the register Young bubbly and excited. The cashier that's is way too happy and all too excited to take your order, your money, and give you your meal. As great as this typecast is, occasionally it can be a lot. Especially when you're in a f* the world kind of mood Any the less than thrilled my parents forced me to get this job The only thing I hate more than this job is maybe you for coming in and making me have to actually work while I'm here. Tried to call in an order for myself and some coworkers on a Saturday around 12:30-1pm. I understand it's the weekend and it gets busy. However, no one answered the 7 phone calls to even say "please hold" as I only have a short period of time on my break from work, which is why I call in before I leave for my break. While there, I asked if the phones were down because I've never had this issue. The lady with red dreads was super unprofessional and rude about the matter while talking to another employee about my simple concern/question. She continued to tell me the same thing as I was grabbing the 6 smoothies from the counter and I said it wasn't my first rodeo or my first time being there and like I said, I get that it gets busy because I too have worked in the food industry. Tonight I took a break from work to get something to eat. I walked into this Tropical Smoothie just like I have many times before. Tonight was very different. I know that there is a shortage of actual decent human beings that truly want to work, right now and it is clearly obvious at this Jax Bch location that they are in desperate need of, not just decent employees, but decent human beings to represent their brand. I walked in at about 8:15 ish pm and I was already having a really horrible door due to the fact that we had to very unexpectedly have our 5 year old furbaby pupper Chance out to sleep due to congestive heart failure and lungs full of blood. I'm only working to help distract myself from the anguish I feel over losing him so suddenly. The young Asian man, about 20-22 years old is getting visibly frustrated with me for not knowing what I want like right this second. (I was the only customer) I told him that I was sorry for being scattered but I was upset due to having to have our dog out to sleep. This kid looks me dead in the face and starts laughing. Says NO WORDS. Just keeps laughing. A second employee is standing right next to him looking at me, listening to this horrendous interaction and does NOTHING!! Not one thing doesn't say a word to me, to his coworker, just stands there like, what are you gonna do about it lady?? I am beyond lost for a way to react to this so I start backing up and I say, I'm sorry...... stammering actually. Pathetic and alone. The kid finally says, no no, wait- then he's just like, screw it the damage is done so he just goes right back into laughing as I walk outside. I was so upset that I left my keys inside. They've raced to lock the doors and start doing damage control I presume, I cal my husband and tell him so he comes there and he goes to the door and tells them he needs to come in and get my keys and he says, "why are you all closed?" They tell him that they just had a disturbance with a customer. Really, that was a disturbance with a customer???? This place may have once been a nice place to get a quick semi healthy bite to eat but the quality of the employees says a lot about an establishments desire to create a specific type of environment that they want relayed to the people who keep them in business. Haven't ventured here in awhile because of past unsatisfactory experiences. Decided to try again today. Ordered online and it said it would be ready at 12:15. I arrive, and the cashier checked for it and said it wasn't ready yet. That's fine, I took a seat. 20 minutes goes by and she sees me sitting there and never checks, I get up and ask if she could see how much longer. Turns out it was ready on the shelf the entire time. After I return to work after waiting nearly 30 minutes for my food, the sandwich is stone cold. Not only that, the lettuce is brown, the cheese questionable, AND I bit into a rock hard lettuce core. Overall, great place. I haven't had problems with employees nor the environment, though today the drink did taste almost as if there was some soap that had accidentally still been in the blender and made it into my smoothie. It'd also be nice if they'd put some signs up in front of the parking spots to help for when we pull in because myself and someone else drove too far and totally smashed out front bumpers due to not being able to see well. Not that I don't trust their food making abilities. Just in my mind, I come for a smoothie and I gets a smoothie. This location is around the corner from my job so I like to get a smoothie on the way to work. Working in a hot kitchen, I like to get some cool and flavorful before starting my shift. My two favorites are Acai Berry Boost (Acai, Pomegranate, Banana, Blueberries & Strawberries) & the Tropi-Colada (Pineapple, Coconut & Banana). Tropical Smoothie is a little different b/c here it's like one size fits all. Some other places you can pick between sizes. Doesn't bother me at all. It is a perfect size for me, so no complaints. If you do some looking they have some good coupons in the local magazines for like $1.00 or $1.50 off. Overall good location. I haven't been to tropical smoothie in a while because the last few times I went, the food was very poorly put together and often missing ingredients. I decided to try the location by my house again, and immediately regret it. Paid $15 for a smoothie and a bowl, but the bowl barely had any chicken in it. The two little strips in the bowl were nearly frozen still and either fatty or mostly cartilage. There's too many other options at the beach to settle for a $15 bowl of lettuce and rice. read more

I go in the morning after I work out and the staff is always friendly and in fact the manager, or possible owner, went out of his way to give me the caloric intake of their smoothies so I knew what choose would be the best for me. It was clear the girl who made mine was new, and when she was done, I overheard her telling one of the more experienced workers that she should remake it because it was clearly wrong. The more experienced girl, hoping I did not hear, told the other not to remake the smoothies and just give them to me. Went in today with two friends for happy hour smoothies. While taking my order a girl with brown hair and a ring on her necklace gave me an attitude. To one-up your healthy health regimen try this place...., trying to cut out sugars well then ask them not to use any of the sugar in the raw which is in most smoothies they make. you can ask for honey instead which is 100 percent pure honey or do what I do and tell them no sweetener at all of any kind. The drinks are really really really big. So you could always share one with somebody quite easily. , but you won't want to .
