They serve a variety of smoothies that come in a decently large standard size. Bahama Mama is a great option!

We drive past Grill House all the time, it has been in Northbrook for a long time (I just found out…read morethat it's been here for 9 years), however, this was the first time that we ever visited, and I am happy that we finally did! My husband and I wanted a quick and good dinner one Sunday recently, and we picked Grill House after I read some good reviews on Yelp.  Although it's a casual, fast-food-style restaurant, the menu is surprisingly extensive, with a wide variety of healthy Greek dishes. It was definitely helpful to look over their menu online before we visited, because the menu board inside could be a bit overwhelming.  I guess I still looked quite confused when I saw 2 kiosks in front of the ordering counter.  A staff behind the counter offered to help, and I just ordered directly with him.  Later of the evening I discovered that he's the friendly owner Gus. After placing our order at the counter, we were given a table number, and our food was delivered promptly.  I ordered a Chicken Souvlaki Plate ($17.50 at the time, it's now listed online for $18), while my husband ordered a Filet Mignon Souvlaki Plate ($25.50).  Each souvlaki plate included a soup or salad, rice and potato (1 piece), a side of veggies, and pita bread in a paper bag.  It was a generous amount of food! We both chose the lentil soup, which was served piping hot in a nice ceramic bowl with a lid. It was flavorful and comforting. My chicken souvlaki was tender and juicy, never dry, and both the rice and potato were delicious. We were both impressed with the quality and value of the meal. I ordered a lemonade, which is considered a fountain drink ($4.00) and comes with free refills, though I couldn't even finish my first glass. My husband would have ordered a glass of wine if we hadn't had plans afterward, so we were happy to see that Grill House also serves beer and wine for a future visit. The service was another highlight. Everyone was warm and welcoming; a special shout-out to Kevin, who was very attentive and checked in on us several times.  When I was taking photos around the restaurant, the owner Gus greeted me again, which was a nice personal touch. The restaurant itself was bright, clean, and inviting. There's also a pleasant patio for those who prefer to dine outdoors. We will definitely be back to try more dishes from their extensive menu.  I am glad that we finally gave Grill House a try!

That said, I've continued to go here and there for convenience despite the price vs food value. Anyway, fast forward to today. I stopped in to grab lunch and they had a new build your own bowl which looked good. You got to choose from 6-7 things (rice, veggies, sauce, etc). I only wanted chicken and rice so asked for a bit of extra rice since I wasn't getting the rest of the options. I was point blank told "no we don't do that". So I asked if they could charge me a slight bit more and they proceeded to add $5.50 for an entire side order of rice. I looked at him baffled and said to remove it. He responded with a horrible attitude and asked the other person at the register who told him not to give me the rice. . Also a small fountain soda is $5. If you're going to rob me, at least be courteous in the process. Never again.

They were tasty and had a nice crunch.  I had a glass of Chardonnay and grilled salmon, while my daughter had a Birdie Spritz, burger and fries.  The food was flavorful and filling. It's worth mentioning that the glass of Chardonnay was a house wine and only cost $10.   My daughter and I both truly enjoyed the dinner.  We particularly loved the outdoor setting.  Next time would be a date with my wife.  I would love to return to enjoy more meals at Acorn Grill + Terrace!

Most the food was surprisingly tasty. Definitely higher quality than I expected and I thought the buffalo wrap in particular was great. $14 Garlic Cheese Curds (wisconsin cheddar cheese | ranch or marinara dipping sauce) - very good! $17 Southwest Salad GF (mixed greens | grilled chicken | black beans | corn | cucumber | tomato | cheddar | red onion | house blend cheese | tortilla strips | southwest dressing) - too pricey but it did taste good $15 Buffalo Chicken Wrap (crispy buffalo chicken | lettuce | tomato | red onion | ranch | spinach or flour tortilla) - this was yummy! It had enough buffalo sauce and the fries we're good too, pretty crispy $14 Roasted Veggie Sandwich (grilled eggplant | grilled zucchini | grilled squash | roasted red pepper | hummus | balsamic glaze | sourdough) - this was the only letdown ended up being very bland and plain. Honestly not that much veggies, barely any hummus, so the whole thing fell flat. Would go back!

Has classic bagel style which is about as authentic of New York as you can get. The prices are usually good on bagels and sandwiches as well. A lot of bagels and bialys to get. It also has lots of cream cheese and other spreads. The most famous of these is the cream cheese and lox, but of course there's much more beyond that. It's about $2 for a regular bagel. Then add a few bucks or so depending on choice of toppings. Choose a simple spread like cream cheese or maybe load it up with something more. You can even make a big sandwich packed with meat if you like that. Has some pretty good vegetarian choices. There's toppings like avocado and vegetables or maybe get a salad. Also the sandwiches which looks and smells fresh. There's a lot more than just bagels to get here. Even though it's best known for the bagels, there's also bialys. It's kind of like bagels with no holes. There's also plenty of sides like salads.

You could definitely come here for breakfast or lunch - they had a really big menu! I loved the parmesan oregano bagel & got it with eggs and cheese. We ordered a Coke and Frappe (Greek Iced Coffee). The frappe was mediocre. It wasn't strong with the coffee being muted. Most frappe I've had at Greek restaurants are normally strong and coffee first. Hubs ordered the Hangry Man burger. He said it was ok, a burger. Nothing extra wow, but good. The waffle fries were the true winner and absolutely delicious! I ordered the make your own omelette with mushrooms, spinach, broccoli, corned beef hash, and Monterey Jack cheese. It was light, fluffy, and full of ingredients. The pancakes had a nice chew, fluffy, and had a hint of sweetness to it. Overall, it was a good meal. Nothing extra wow, except for our friendly server, and the food is good! It's a little one the pricey side, but so is everything these days. Definitely try Brunch Factory.

The menu had lots of options from Mexican brunch items to French toast to skillets and much more. I got the brunch factory pie which was filled with bacon and really hefty. We ended up having to take some of it home because we couldn't finish it from how sweet the caramel was. There were only 2 stalls for the bathroom and with how large the restaurant is, it resulted in a line with a little bit of a wait. For your birthday they send you $5 to spend so definitely sign up for their rewards program when you pay at their tablet. Lots of parking around the restaurant. Overall a decent brunch place but the food is just ok.
