Came here with my son after a dental procedure and the workers were friendly, pleasant and accommodating! My son wanted a smoothie that isn't offered on the Kids Menu & the staff offered to split the smith into two kids cups. (I've made this request at the Hanover location and was denied.) I live Tropical Smoothie so I'll make sure to return to this location when I'm in the area! read more

I hateeeee coming to establishments with lackluster staff. They all had funky vibes and gave me nasty looks. Did y'all forget I'm a paying customer !!!!!!!! I almost turned around and left. It's actually the most aggravating thing when patronizing businesses. The smoothie was good but they can keep the funky attitude. If I wasn't running on E they wouldn't have gotten my money. Tighten up and be a bit friendlier. read more

I ordered on the tropical smoothie app. I got the super green Caesar wrap paired with a dragon passion smoothie. The food was really good. This location could be a tad cleaner. There was a lot of water under the counter where everyone can see as soon as you walk in, the floors behind the counters looked disgusting too. Besides that, My order was ready on-time and that's all I could ask for. read more

They don't take cash! I saw no signage of this or anything online when looking ho the store. The girl at the register was rude but the gentleman making the smoothies was very polite. The smoothies and overall the location are typical of any Tropical Smoothie. Very clean from what I could see. The smoothies are consistent with other locations. read more

I live within walking distance of this place and will get in my car to drive out to crofton location every time. My wife and I love Tropical Smoothie, but the management of this location is non existent. You only have to visit the Crofton location once to see and feel the difference. From customer service to cleanliness..... it's not even close. read more

First let me start off by saying I love Tropical Smoothie but I don't know what happened to this location. So before I get into the negative let me start off by saying whoever the young gentleman was making smoothies on 4/4/25 did an amazing job. My smoothie tasted amazing. The downside of the restaurant was it was not clean. Not sure if they were short staffed or they just don't give a damn but the place needs some help badly. Unfortunately I will not be returning to this location. read more

Shout out to Shay and Demetrius for the hard work and professional service. Good job team.

This location is hit or miss. Some days they blast inappropriate music out loud or are play around too much in front of customers. Today, I ordered my food and was 1 of 2 people in the establishment. A rush of people came and we were waiting for at least 6 minutes to be acknowledged while 3 employees had a conversation about Beyoncé. Once I was acknowledged I ordered my smoothie at least 6-8 people came after me and all received their food and smoothies ahead of me. When I asked about my order the young man had a whole attitude and then proceeded to mumble something under his breath. I won't be coming here it's always something. read more

This is a HORRIBLE location and Shay the store manager is the worst. She's been telling customers, if they leave a good review and bring a picture in of the review once we've posted it. She will give customers a free smoothie. I immediately asked, what happens if you are not here when a customer comes in with his or her photo. She said, it's okay, I've told the store employees so they will honor it. LIES, LIES and more LIES. I stopped in Friday morning (may 1st) and the two young ladies immediately said, she is telling customers that but she has not told them how to ring it up/code in the register and that they did not want to lose their jobs. They also said, she's running late today, she'll be here in 15-20 minutes. I told them, that I asked her that question and with confidence she said the employees know/will honor it. Needless to say, since I had worked an overnight and stopped in there when I got off. I tried waiting and of course she was passed the 20 minutes so I told the girls I was leaving. They were very apologetic when it wasn't their fault/their customer service was great. I did tell them to let Shay know that I was reversing my rating because her actions feel like she's hustling customers for a good rating/then not honoring what she said. A horrible way to manage a business and now she's lost a customer and I predict that location will lose some more before it's over. read more

doo not go here they are nasty they give you old food with the date on it .... who does that???? smoothies are always good and the manger is super nice and respectful. the vibes are calm and it's never dirty or unorganized.

The absolute worse. employees including the manager are terrible with their attitude and customer service. when you address their attitude they get mad. they will keep your order and refuse to give it to you. this is also known as stealing from a customer when you paid for it. this place owes me money. owners need to do better. read more

The bowie location is pretty cool, the line is always quick and they are always so nice about fixing your drinks if there is a problem. I tried the food from this location for the first time and I love the jerk chicken quesadilla. You can save by combining the drink with the sandwich. Parking is ample since this location is in a shopping center. The ambiance is quiet and clean and they usually have some great community events like flip flop day where you get a free smoothie for wearing flip flops. read more

I love Tropical Smoothie, but this location is my least favorite. The customer service is usually lacking but I try to overlook it because the staff is mostly teens and that's just how teens are. Just glad to see them doing something productive! Today just sealed the deal that I won't be returning to this location. Usually, I do a mobile order and run in and out. Often it's not blended well enough so I have to ask them to blend it again. Very rarely am I greeted, but today I couldn't get in the door without being asked to check out a T-shirt line and when I declined I was asked to give a dollar or two. When I picked up my order I decided to get a cookie and chips. The typical no greeting but I'm used to it. It took longer than expected to check out b/c the person in front of me was having issues with her app and no one else bothered to get on the register. As I waited, I looked around to see where the loud music was coming from and there was this long speaker sitting on the table and I was just like WHERE AM I!? This isn't what I'm used to in this shopping plaza. I leave out and am solicited go again by the same young man from my entry. Then I begin to drink my smoothie and it's super chunky and not blended well. It even had chunks of fruit today. I'm so done with this location. Guess I'll have to go a bit further to the Gambrills location that never fails me!! read more

Biggest problem when walking into a food establishment is odd odors. This place just didn't smell good. The floor at this location felt like it'd never been cleaned before!!!! I mean sticky & slick at the same time. It's just unfortunate to see. They have a shelf near the register for supplies I guess but there's random stuff on it like a Chipotle bag & a half empty box with a torn lid. At first glance it's just an unkept store. My smoothie wasn't bad. read more

I am a tropical smoothie customer that lives in Virginia. I ordered online as I normally do. the app normally points me to my cafe in Virginia, this morning it pointed me to one in Bowie Maryland. When I went to pick up my order in Virginia they said may be wrong cafe. I looked at my app and saw it was Bowie Maryland. I tried calling the store over and over and no one answered, even though I knew hey were open. I called later in the afternoon, someone finally answered and I asked about a refund and was told I should have called right away when it happened and I explained, I did and no one answered the phone. Then the tune changed to we already made the sandwich. The person told me I doubt if my managers will give you that money back, really an unprofessional attitude about it. It was not about the money because clearly they needed that money, but treating me as a customer and at least acknowledging the mistake. All I can say is I appreciate my Tropical Smoothie in my area when because they do bend over backwards for their customers and know how to speak to them. After this experience, would never order a smoothie from the one on Annapolis road, even if I am in the area. read more

My husband and I stopped patronizing this location some years ago for the very same reason that I decided to write this review. The staff makes horrible smoothies and they're rude and GHETTO! So sad as this is the only TS location we've ever received such bad service. They're just horrible! Yelp really needs to give the option of ZERO stars because the only star I'm giving is myself for taking the time to write this review! read more

I really wanted to support location but I just can't anymore. They desperately need to hire better staff to run the day to day. My smoothie was made and was only filled a little more then halfway. I told the young lady who made my smoothie that it wasn't filled and she looked me in my face and said "there's nothing I can do about that". I said " can you make it over" and she told me no. No attempt at all to make it right. There was also another customer who had a complaint and she told him to "ask her manager, there's nothing she can do about it". This is not the first time that this location has been rude and un accommodating. They've run out of straws numerous times and the smoothie either taste like water or has chunks. I tried to give them a chance but I will NOT be back. read more

It saddens me that there's no tropical Smoothie Cafe near my job! However whenever Im in the area and need a pick me up. I pay with my app to earn points or to redeem rewards. My favorite items: Bbq chicken flatbread absolutely delish. Smoothies: bahama mama minus the white chocolate Detox island: looks like blah but it does the job. Just be close to home when youre drinking it. Orange ginger glow; i recommend this when you wake up or for a morning pick me up. It definitely gives you that boost to get you going. Service; they're fast, friendly. My food is hot and fresh. I never encountered a problem. The restaurant is clean. The bathroom is clean. I wish all Tropical Smoothie locations can be like this! We need more locations please!! read more

Quite frankly if you want your time wasted on any given day of the week just placed a online order and go there 30 minutes after. I promise you your time will be wasted drastically did you probably beg for a refund. The manager says it's hard because they keep having negative employee retention which makes training difficult. I ordered a strawberry chia banana boost but a peanut butter smoothie was delivered to me. This location is the absolute worst I've ever been too! The wait is always long even when you order via their app. They seem short staffed & customer service is subpar! The staff seems very amatuear with a lack of training. They never get my order right the 1st time & this time is not an exception. This location needs to take some pointers from the Clinton location. YES!!!!! My favorite smoothie store has invaded Bowie and I'm ecstatic!! (Insert Happy Dance) You haven't had a smoothie, until you've had one from Tropical Smoothie Café. Not sure why, but out of all of the other chains in the area, this is my favorite. The smoothies just taste better to me and it never leaves me with an aftertaste. Before this location opened, I had to high-tail it up to the Gambrills location, but no more...I can now come to the location that's much closer to me, not to mention, the location that's in my county. Score Gorgeous Prince George's!! Obviously you can order fresh - made to order smoothies, but you can also order sandwiches, wraps, flatbreads, and small side orders of fruit, etc. Pretty healthy alternative to eating out. If you're watching your weight, be sure to check the calories for the smoothies because they can sneak up on you. Additionally, try adding a scoop or two of fat burner, protein, etc. to your smoothie for a little extra boost. Check the menu for the many options. The service was welcoming and friendly and I received my smoothie/food in a timely manner. Everything was delicious and since I'm already a fan, I'm sure to be back. read more

This location has poor customer service and never has a proper size straw for your smoothie.

This was the worst place that I have ever been. It's so sad that they have managers that don't know how to manage or the meaning of good customer service. Manager on duty was cursing loud and telling us to "LEAVE A FUC....REVIEW!" If we didn't like the fact they didn't have bananas. It's a grocery store right beside this place full of bananas???? Then he told us to GET THE FUC.. OUT.... I will never return to this ratchet place. The manager look like he was almost loosing his mind. I called 911 on his crazy ass. I will be complaining to the original franchise owners about this location.. read more

Worst experience at a Tropical Smoothie store. Placed my order online and was supposed to be ready at 12:39pm. Waited in the packed store, with over 15 other customers for my order. No social distancing or anything. Still no order. Approached the manager and asked about my order. Gave details, she reviewed my phone as if she was going to fix it. 10 mins later, still no order. Approached manager again, asked if anyone was making the order?? She looked at other employee confusingly and asked if they were making the order. At this point, I asked for refund. No apology nothing. Just laughter from the manager as she said she'd do an online refund. Don't waste your time. They are slow and unorganized. Not able to manage effectively. read more

01/17/2021-I walked in to pick up an online order and no one greeted or even bothered to look up at the door. While I was inside waiting I couldn't help but notice the phone was ringing nonstop and not one of the employees thought it important enough to answer. I get my food home and realize my Hummus Veggie Bowl is MISSING BOTH the hummus AND avocado. Also, it has rice, not the end of the world, but nowhere on the menu is rice listed as part of this meal. CUSTOMER SERVICE AND QUALITY CONTROL! Of course I tried calling before writing this review but no answer. This is unacceptable. I need to speak with a manager ASAP. read more

I have NO words for this location. The customer service is absolutely awful. The woman taking my order didn't even make eye contact with me at all, she seemed annoyed that I was trying to place an order. We had to ask about salad dressing for my mom's salad. They didn't put that in the bag. When we asked about the salad dressing the woman rolled her eyes and said it comes on the side yet never offered us any. We get to our destination to eat our food, there's no utensils to eat the salad and no napkins. We also were never given/offered sides and we got meals. Absolutely awful. Will NOT return. I left the gym with my boyfriend feeling accomplished and drained, so I wanted something to replenish my energy. My boyfriend told me about this place, which was one shopping center over from the gym, so we decided to go check out the menu. I liked the variety of smoothies that the menu had and I liked that they showed the calories as well. The cashier was friendly. I had decided on the Triple Berry Smoothie. Before I was about to pay, she tells me it's going to be a 15 min wait. There were other customers waiting and uber eats orders had to be fulfilled as well. Also, there were only 2 people working. I understood the wait but it couldn't justify waiting for one smoothie. Also, I was in a rush. I left empty handed. This is by far my favorite Tropical Smoothie Cafe. I grew up with them (from Florida). So I've been coming to this one since the day they opened. I absolutely adore the mother, daughter duo owners. They are both so kind and have wonderful personalities. My favorite employee is Victoria. She's been working here since they opened their doors. Went in this location and there was NO ONE inside. They was a group of older women in front of me who ordered 4 smoothies. I ordered and we all waited. They received theirs and 4 people who came in after me received their multiple orders...but my ONE SMOOTHIE had yet to be made. Was I invisible? Eventually I was asked for second time what did I order. To which I answered, "just give me my money back!!!" This was ridiculous to be kept waiting when others who came in AFTER me received their orders. Trust, I will NOT be patronizing this location again.
