I LOVE this place- The smoothies are amazing. They are also always made promptly and it's easy for any visitor to see staff works hard and works together. They definitely do. Tropical Smoothie Cafe has been consistent with its time and quality and the staff has always been helpful. The staff are always busy and never rude, they are good at customer service. I've just noticed on a couple occasions I've been in a completely empty restaurant and on my out, hollering loudly, Thank You, Bye! Got no response. Felt dumb, but said it again, Thank you, Have a good night!!. Got zero reply from either employee again. I'll keep going there- their product is great, simply put. If I were an owner or upper management in customer service though, Id hope someone would occasionally get bored enough to type about it and let me know. read more

Me and my friends went here to get drinks and food our drinks came out fast but we waited 50 minutes and ended up just asking for a refund. We went when they were not super busy then they got busy and we were there till there was only five or six people inside including us. read more

I tried to order on DoorDash but the closed their DoorDash down at 8:10 when they do not close till 9 so I called them to place the order at 8:30ish they said they would not take my order over the phone so I drive 20 minutes to get what I wanted I arrived at 8:50 and went to order thru the drive thru they said they were not going to make my food so I decided to order online since of there website since they were still open the website placed the order and charged my card $40 yet when I went to get it they yet again said they were not making my food and that I have to wait 3-5 business day to get my money back the lady there was very rude and honestly should be fired because if you do not close till 9 them you should have to take any order that comes in before you close. read more

Not a bad place to go if you are looking for a fresh healthy based lunch or even dinner. While the focus of the store is on smoothies, they offer what I would consider a light food menu with several sandwich and wrap choices. Many of the selections include a "bowl" option for those trying to stay away from bread or carbs. The smoothies are very good with several combinations and flavors to choose from. They are also very good sized and filling. The only tip I could share at this time is be patient and anticipate your order taking a while, they are working out "some bugs" and getting used to everything so your order may take some time. The employees are very nice and were easy to deal with. As long as you have some time to kill the wait is worth it for a light lunch or dinner. read more

Smoothie quality is consistent with every other location. But man, why is everyone so cranky at this location? I've stopped going because every time I go the employees are unfriendly, more grunting responses than talking, glaring, and pretty darn slow to boot. I get there are staffing shortages but I'm used to seeing customers act like 'Karens', not staff. It's not an isolated instance either. It's more often than not I'd go 2.5 stars if I could. This place isn't new to Battle Creek, so I'm told, but this is their new (better) location. My daughter said they used to be over by Lakeview High School somewhere, which is probably why it hasn't been more popular. I know this is a "chain" type restaurant business and I don't normally do reviews on Yelp for those, but this place deserves a rating. Hopefully, it offers a healthier option for people knowing it's here, and helps their business. I've driven by it quite a few times at this location but never thought of stopping in. My daughter loves this place and suggested we stop in (my treat of course ). It has a drive through but we opted to walk in. The place is bright, airy, and clean. The menus explain everything and are simple to read. Several food and drink options leave something for everyone. The staff was very polite, and quick on their feet. I ordered some Mango something or other my daughter suggested. Each smoothie ran about $5-$6 each which is cheaper than I expected. We waited about 5 minutes and I was slurping away. The smoothie was very tasty and packed full of blended fresh fruit. This is my first time here. I didn't try the food. I only tried my drink. And they weren't busy. I 5 starred this place based on my limited experience because a fair priced, clean, healthy establishment with friendly and courteous staff is getting hard to come by around here. Tropical Smoothie continues to roll out new menu items that are a hit. The club sandwich they have now is stellar and so are the sweet potatoes! I wish more locations had a drive through because the waiting inside experience isn't always comfortable. read more

We were on our way to Chicago when my daughter mentioned she'd like to stop at Tropical Smoothie Cafe. The young lady at the cashier was so kind & helpful. I was not familiar with their menu as my daughters were. The young lady said I could switch flavors if the one I chose did not work out. I ended up needing to do that. Once again this kind young lady said it was not a problem. She made me a new one and said I could keep the 1st as well. The Bahama Mama is fantastic and has a very fresh Strawberry taste. I went to Tropical Smoothie Cafe after seeing everyone post about it. I went for lunch only expecting to find smoothies but was pleasantly surprised to find that they also have a wide variety of healthy food options. The majority of the smoothies that are made are fruit based, and those are not my favorite smoothies, but they did have a chocolate peanut butter and banana smoothie that interested me. They were incredibly busy when my friends and I arrived, and they only had one cashier working (there were many other workers making the food and smoothies), but the staff worked together and I did not wait in line longer than 3 minutes, despite the lunchtime rush. I asked that the banana not be included in the smoothie and without hesitating they agreed to do it. While the smoothie I choose was not necessarily healthy (it was 700 calories) it was delicious and tasted like a no-bake cookie. They also offer add-ins for your smoothie (i.e. protein powder). The smoothies are fairly priced for the incredibly large drink that you receive, I estimate that it is about 20 oz. They do have kids smoothies that I'm sure are smaller, but I was surprised at the size of the drink at first. My friends enjoyed their food, and they were served very quickly. the restaurant is very clean, and after the lunch rush had passed, workers cleaning up the tables and sweeping the floor. I tried this place again for third time. Horrible rude staff that doesn't know the menu or how to treat customers. Didn't receive the correct order and was told they are too busy . I asked where my smoothie was I was told by Haley she wasn't on smoothie and they were to busy. Twice I was told that instead of trying to fix the problem. If I could give this place a zero. Staff is young and rude. Refresh training is needed on menu and customer service. I have never been talked like. It's a shame. I will not be There was no manager on site. The MOST impolite staff ever. Learn how to train your employees to be helpful and kind. I was the only customer at the time yet I was extremely rushed and pretty much had my food thrown at me and was pushed out of the way. Only giving 1 star because I cant give 0.
