When we arrived at 1:30, they said there a 45 minute wait. Looking over the hostesses shoulder, the place was half way empty. So, we added our name to the list. When we weee sat down, the server came over quickly and took our drink order. Then the drinks came and she took our lunch order. This is where the long wait began. It was literally 30 minutes to get our food (a patty melt and an order of chicken wings). Yikes. Although the food was pretty good, the service is terrible. I am not sure what I expected for a restaurant in the casino. Cafe 24/7 is located in Firekeepers Casino in Battle Creek. I received a gift card from work for Firekeepers and it was only for food or the gift shop so my partner and I decided to treat ourselves to a restaurant in the casino. There were several to choose from but we were craving breakfast food and shakes. So it made complete sense to go to Cafe 24/7. We ordered a California Reuben, Mac and Cheese, a Breakfast Skillet, and order of Corned Beef on the side and two chocolate shakes. Lots of food for two people but we wanted to try everything. The skillet was really good. The Mac and Cheese was perfect. It was in a skillet and the cheese on top was perfectly baked on the noddles. I loved it. It needed a little more seasoning but honestly, I could add salt and pepper to it and it was fine. The Cali Reuben is amazing and better than a regular Reuben in my opinion. My partner was obsessed with the chocolate shake. It was good and creamy. I really enjoyed the food and would go back to try more. The Corned Beef wasn't that good, but I'm a huge corned beef snob. The place is nicely decorated and the staff was nice and welcoming. There is a full bar and menu (outside of just breakfast foods, which I normally go towards breakfast foods but if you like normal food, there is a huge menu for that too.) Today is Thanksgiving November 28th 2024 . 2 years ago my mother and I went to the 24/7 Cafe at FireKeepers for Thanksgiving dinner and it was out of this world! Last year we went somewhere else and we're highly disappointed so this year we went back to the 24/7 Cafe at FireKeepers . It was one of the worst meals I have had for Thanksgiving . The green bean casserole was watery and lukewarm to cold , the mashed potatoes had huge chunks of potatoes in them and we're stiff as a board and lukewarm to cold . The turkey I'm certain was canned . The stuffing was all right . We asked for extra gravy which they supplied to warm up the food and make it edible . Neither my mother or I ate the mashed potatoes or the green bean casserole . When we left we both had stomach upset and it is 5 hours later and we still both have stomach upset . I don't ever get stomach upset over anything . Sadly to say, we will not be returning . I expected the meal to be about $25 maybe a little more and it was only $22 . They should have charged $30 and given us good food and we'd be back again next year . I used to recommend this Cafe to people that I knew , I no longer will . The server was okay , not great . Seem to be somewhere else most of the time . I am sorry to see what we considered such a great place and such great food go to the dogs . read more

I've stopped in here from time to time while at the casino, they have fairly well priced food and good portions. They serve breakfast 24 hrs a day, which is great. The waffle with strawberries and whipped cream is probably my favorite thing here! The main reason I have gone here is for a burger they serve with a fried Mac and cheese patty and onion rings. You have to smash it down to even get close to fitting it in your mouth! Most of the rest of the menu is pretty standard, and everything I've tried has been good, but I come back for the waffle and the burger! read more

I was bummed that the Mijem buffet closed before we got there. So we tried out Cafe 24/7. I wasn't disappointed. The menus are on tablets that you just swipe through. You can click on anything you think you might want, and it shows you a picture of it and what it comes with. Which is a nice feature. I got the Ruben. It was pretty decent. The thousand island on it isn't your typical thousand island. It almost tastes more like a horseradish sauce of sorts. I didn't mind that though. The rye bread was perfectly toasted and really good. One of several spots to eat in Firekeepers, this one is a great choice. It's a laid back, casual eatery with table service and a host/hostess. Menus are actually iPads which is kind of cool as you can press the menu item and get more info about the dish. Service was prompt, efficient, and friendly which is to be expected at a casino of Firekeepers size and opulence level. Our sever was chatty without being intrusive, filled drinks ninja style, and was prompt with our check. By the way the tables are arrayed so that even when crowded, you don't feel like you're eating right up against someone at another table. The food came out surprisingly fast considering how busy it was. Presentation was pretty decent also for a casual food spot. The food itself was really good, if a bit salty, which I blame on the gravy. But it was still very tasty. We both ordered the "Hot Beef" which is code for an open faced roast beef sandwich. Came with AMAZING mashed potatoes. These were hand mashed, not boxed. The beef was succulent and tender with just the right amount of fat attached to it. Prices were decent for a casino spot. First off, if you're planning to dine here, be sure to ask for Desiree as your server as she will take excellent care of you in a friendly and efficient manner! We dined at Cafe 24/7 for breakfast, and while we got off to a rocky start by being seated at a table that had not yet been cleaned from prior guests, our server, Desiree, quickly turned our experience around; she immediately re-seated us, apologized for the inconvenience, and alerted the three hostess staff members of the blatant gap in service. Thorough cleanliness is paramount always, but especially during a pandemic. Not long after, I observed an employee sanitizing the available tables in the dining area, so that made me feel better about their concern for customers' health. As far as food, Hubby opted for the chili cheese omelet and I chose the country omelet. Both were well plated (abundantly so) and quite tasty! We could've easily just shared one breakfast entree, but we wanted to sample a couple different items. I really appreciated that the breakfast potatoes were browned perfectly and not over salted. I also liked the fact that the wheat toast was really more of a hearty multi-grain wheat. Hubby was very happy that the chili in his entree was super flavorful and without green peppers! We have eaten here a couple times. The first time, we had Autumn as a server. On a scale of 1 - 5 as a server, she gets a 10! The second time, our server was not as good. The biggest complaint on our second visit was the BLT sandwich my husband ordered. The bacon had no flavor to it. The bacon tasted like pork grease only -- no flavoring. The hot turkey and hot beef sandwiches we had the first time were wonderful. The french dip sandwich I had the second time was very good. Lean meat and the au jus had good taste without being too salty. The dill pickle wedge served with the sandwiches are not crisp and is not very dill. We've eaten and enjoyed here for years. In the past month we've had 3 visits that were not up to par. The menu has pics of what the food is supposed to look like. At one visit, my husband ordered Walleye and when it came out there were lots of fries covering what we thought was half the fish. When the fries were lifted off there was a piece of fish that looked like the size of a chicken tender. It looked nothing like the pic he saw. The meal was $18 and was a rip-off. Then this week he ordered meatloaf and the pic again looked great. When it came out it had gravy that covered the whole plate. (usually just the potatoes). Then he started eating and found there was not a slab of meatloaf but all little pieces. He told the waitress and she said she'd tell the chef. The last situation happened a month ago. My husband is diabetic and needed to eat soon. We waited and waited and everyone around us got their food. Then we see the chef come out by the bar and pick up a piece of paper on the floor that was our order that was dropped by mistake by the server. We asked for some crackers to help his low sugar readings. Then the wait began since the order took more time. The waitress was very flippant about it all and didn't care and didn't apologize. My husband and I were at FireKeepers for a overnight visit. On April 8th i got up around 5 went down to casino had a couple cups of coffee my husband joined me down around 7am around 8am we went to cafe 24/7 I got country omelette and my husband got ham omelette service was good... I ate about half said the gravy was very peppery so we paid and left.....we walked around for 1/2 hr then went up to room sat down with in 1 hr I was so sick I emailed the casino twice to see if anyone else had gotten sick but no reply read more

We've found ourselves here every time we stay overnight at the hotel, usually after all the other dining choices have closed. The food is surprisingly good and the service is always friendly. Is my opinion skewed by the fact that we've had a few drinks? Perhaps. Regardless, I'm sure we'll be back. So this is usually where we go to when we eat at the casino, especially since Mijem seems to get more and more disappointing whenever we decide to go there. I ordered the turf no surf and the steak was good, it was seasoned well, but it wasn't extrodinary. The potatoes were good, but somewhat lumpy, which fortunately tells me they're real, but lumpy mash isn't my thing. The broccoli was huge and bulky, not very well cut at all. It took over most of my plate and watered down my leftovers. I like broccoli a lot, but this was kind of a miss. My husband had this old faithful the all American burger which features pretty much everything but the kitchen sink. The Mac and cheese medallion is fantastic. I always sneak a bite of it. The burger was good, had that lovely flame broiled char and the bacon was perfect. He subbed tots for fries and they were incredibly good, some of the best tots I've ever tasted. We also got a cream cheese brownie for dessert to go and it was okay, priced pretty well, but not extrodinary, either. In all, it was a decent meal, a few missteps, but mostly good. This is inside the Firekeepers Casino in Battle Creek. Price was ok, display of food was great. Portion was overwhelming. I ordered the NAWLINS Jambalaya - Scrambled eggs, sausage, shrimp, peppers, onions, cheese w/ Cajun spice for 9.95. Meal was very bland for something you would expect to be spicy and in additional the shrimp was like eating rubber. Huge portions, dimly lit, my waiter Richie and his service was good, food was okay, really bad karaoke from next door (which I actually enjoy!) and some of the best people-watching EVER! (and i swear it smelled like crunch-berries! Yum!) I had the buffalo chicken sandwich-too much bread and they put the ranch under the hot chicken so it was melty runny (bad). But the taste was good and familiar, probably Franks Red Hot! The fries were crispy and plentiful. The Tea was not fresh-brewed and funky, but Richie quickly replaced it with a Coke. Ate here for dinner and enjoyed it. The crispy chicken salad I ordered was fresh and delicious. We also ordered an olive burger (yummy), buffalo chicken salad (also fresh and delicious) and fettuccine Alfredo (creamy and good). Our waitress was very friendly and filled requests for refills quickly. We also ordered bread pudding and carrot cake for dessert. Both tasted a bit processed but we did finish them. We were told if we didn't like one or the other they would take them back and not charge us. Atmosphere was nice and we actually sat and talked for quite awhile with no push for us to leave. The worst restaurant experience Ive ever had. After waiting 1 hr 15 min for my brother to even get the correct drink and watch tables turn all around us, our server realized she forgot to put in our food order. She promised it was in now and she had asked the kitchen to make it on the fly. 20 min later she lets us know there was a shift change and our food should be out nay minute tables have turned again. Bu the time our food came we had been waiting for just under 2 hours and our lovely server informs us her shift is over and she just wanted to make sure we got our food, our table would be transferred to the next server taking over that area (we saw her she was starting to bring food to her tables). She never stopped at our table, not for maybe another drink or dessert order or boxes and tab....? I finally asked the gentleman who brought us our drinks for a manger ( i hate doing this!!!). When said manager comes i ask her if she is aware of the situation at our table, she says no, so i brief her and she says " our server arent even supposed to be giving away tables" "can i get you some dessert or something". I was over over it my birthday was over we had spent the last two huh ors of it there and at least a a half hour past 12... i said " just what ever you have for a bill for us" she kindly brings the bill with 15$ off but another drink we didnt order added to it. And i explained that our time was worth more than that. Her response was " I offered you dessert " . Between the three of us at the table we have 35+ years experience in the restaurant and bar biz. 1) servers should be more aware of their tables and forgetting to put in an order for over an hr is crazy! 2) management should know when there is a problem of this size! 3)management should know of any table transfers! 4) management should apologize ( a whole bill comp should have happened at this point) but we were offered dessert! My boyfriend and I ate here when we took a bus trip to the casino. You definitely get your money's worth. I had pancakes and they were almost as big as the plate. Our bill came to around $20 and with the $5 food voucher we each had, we wound up paying only $8 for both our meals. Service was very good, also. read more
