I've been to this Tropical Smoothie Cafe a few times. First, the parking lot is usually busy and is quite small, so it can be a little harrowing trying to find a spot. Stopped by on a Thursday morning and it wasn't busy. I tried the Mango and the Green smoothies, and both were super refreshing and delicious with a good consistency. The place was spotless and had a nice, chill vibe. The staff was friendly, though I do wish they had mentioned the rewards program. I ended up signing up afterward, so no big deal. People have nothing better to do than complain about smoothies apparently. World full of Karens. The smoothies are fantastic. I order ahead (usually on my way to the place) and it's ready when I get there. They have good add ins and for the price you get a big smoothie. Maybe this world should be less snap your fingers and get served and more plan ahead. Just a thought. I highly recommend. Oh and I drink the green ones. Island green or detox and avocolada. As other reviewers have stated, workers focus on call ahead or big food orders. So if you're going to a smoothie cafe just for a smoothie better head somewhere else or you'll be stuck there a loooonnngggg time. They really need to change the name to "Tropical pita sandwich experience " or "Tropical chicken to go" and just drop the smoothie angle all together cause it's getting pretty obvious they're annoyed having to make smoothies. We live close by and use to go once or twice a week. But now we only go there once every month. Mostly because of the way they rank orders. It's VERY clear they don't want to be bothered to make 1 or 2 smoothies and will push those to the back of the line. And by back I mean the Oklahoma state line about 1,500 miles west of here. Then give food orders priority. The result? We'll after waiting 20 minutes, like others have mentioned, they'll finally get to yours and just as they finish it, they'll leave it sitting on the back counter while they go do something else... involving-u guessed it-food orders, then maybe another 5 minutes go by and, if you're lucky and they're kind of bored cause their are not sandwiches that need makin', they'll actually give you your smoothie, by then it's started to melt so kind of a waste. Rinse repeat yada yada all day long. That's why we are no longer regular customers. But not sure the franchise company cares. They're greedy for the big food orders and seem to use canned replies here when responding to reviews. I REALLY love their " please reach out to us and let us know what we can do to improve your experience " crap. We just did, in the review you're replying to. You know what to fix. Just do it!!! We had a very bad experience at TS this past week. Was in line to order and noticed two large bugs - one on the floor and the other crawling on the wall. We walked out and obviously did not order anything. Have been to this location in the past and have noticed things have gotten a lot worse the past few months. My experiences at tropical smoothie has always been a very positive one. Very excited that this new location opened up an Apex! Even though the staff are all very young, mostly high school students, they are incredibly friendly and very customer service oriented! I also appreciate the fact that I can win there like a civilized human being and not wear a mask and not be harassed or shouted at by employee like what happened to me at a Panera recently, but not the one in Apex, just for the record So glad that this Apex location is thriving in there a great addition to the economy and enjoyment for the Apex region! read more

I am from SOCAL and Jamba Juice is what I am accustomed to. First off why no different sizes? The Banana drink itself was just bland at best. It tasted like a GNC powder drink. Im sorry but it did not taste like it was made from fresh fruit and at $8 it should. Then there is the reason why I will not return and that is the tip screen. Putting a customer on the spot in front of staff BEFORE they even perform any service is just wrong!! Why should anyone tip BEFORE the service or drink is served? I placed a curbside delivery/pickup order yesterday at the Apex, NC store. After 10-12 minutes of waiting in the completely empty parking lot, I called inside to check the status of my order since it appeared that the store was not busy, which made me wonder why was there such a delay in receiving my simple beverage order. An employee answered the phone and I asked to speak to the manager. She wanted to know why I needed the manager. I explained that this is the 2nd time within the past week that the parking lot was clear and the lobby was empty, yet I've waited quite a while for a simple smoothie order. I explained that I couldn't understand why I could get my to-go steak dinner from longhorn or make it through a super long chick fil a line quicker than I could pick up a simple smoothie from this location. And in comparison, at a neighboring location, I'd receive it in 3 minutes or less once ordered. After this explanation, she told me the manager wasn't available. I proceeded to walk inside the store, which is something I initially tried to avoid and was why I placed my curbside delivery order. When I walked inside to request the manager, there was only 1 patron sitting in a corner working on her laptop. My smoothie was sitting on the counter in the food prep area. Not 1 employee was in the lobby. Not 1. I began to say "hello? Hello??? Hello???" multiple times, hoping that someone would hear me and appear from wherever they were in the rear of the building. Finally 4 young people came from the back area where they had been congregating having a good time at work, oblivious to the need to be busy tending to their duties or monitoring the lobby. They had been fooling around as young co-workers, irresponsible and unconcerned. The manager came out as well. I told him my concern and asked him why would my smoothie be sitting there behind the counter with zero urgency to deliver it to my vehicle to fulfill my curbside delivery order. I advised him that this same thing happened last week as well while he was on duty and I'd spoken to him on that occasion also. This in fact, has happened on several occasions for my curbside order. It's as though this location has a problem with wanting to leave the comforts of the building to want to bring the drinks outside. So they don't prioritize doing so. He stated that they all had a question for them and that's why everyone was with him in the back waiting for him to get off the phone. I believe this was a lie. If they all had a question, one asking the question would have sufficed while the others could have continued to man their posts in the lobby and provide service to visitors upon their arrival. He advised me that my smoothie had just gotten finished being made. One of the workers brought my smoothie to the cash register and sat it there next to the cash drawer. It remained there for a while as we continued our conversation. I asked why would she decide to place my smoothie next to the cash drawer where filthy money is exchanged and handled, rather than giving it to me, since it had been paid for already via the app. I asked them to remake the smoothie, as this was unsanitary. The manager debated that the smoothie was perfectly fine. He eventually commanded an employee to remake the smoothie. She did so reluctantly and with an attitude. As she made the smoothie, I realized that my time spent on receiving this thing/spent at this location has now reached the 20-25 minute mark, which was ridiculous and a waste of my time. I asked the manager if he expected me to pay in full for this terrible service or would he be issuing some sort of discount to compensate for my less than stellar experience, seeing as this has occurred twice now in the past week. He said there would be no discount. I told him that if this is how he intended on treating me as a customer, then I wanted a refund. He said he wouldn't issue a refund because they just made a smoothie for me. After a prolonged debate, I left without my smoothie and without my refund. I'm pissed. read more

My kids were begging for Tropical so I gave in dropping $22 on smoothies... went on a very busy day and ordered ahead on the app. We ordered two Island Detox and a Pomegranate Plunge. The store was well staffed and training a new employee. Unfortunately, I think the new employees first smoothies were our Island Detox. She was very sweet and trying hard but our Island Detox smoothies were way too chunky to be palatable! So, after leaving and almost halfway home, I turned back around to ask for a redo (because that's a lot to spend and not be able to drink it). The manager/owner(?) could not have been nicer about the return smoothies and he quickly made us two more Island Detox with no questions asked and he was very pleasant. The customer service he provided was much appreciated and the smoothie he made was the best I have ever had. I will definitely be back to this location!!!
