Went there because they were advertising for a free smoothie in an email, walked through the door they said we had to be wearing flip-flops. We were turned away and she thought it was funny. We drove 25 minutes with gas at $4.50 a gallon. Guess we will go to Goodlyfe for now on. read more

Very bright and clean inside with plenty of workers on The particular late Saturday afternoon when I went. I was very pleasantly surprised by the Salsa Verde Dilla I ordered. It was perfectly cooked and very fresh. The jalapeño corn, one of the upgraded sides that comes with the Dilla , was delightful: not too spicy but a good suggestion of "heat". My Usland Green smoothie was refreshing and somewhat seeet because of the added fruit. I would definitely return or check out other examples of this chain restaurant. read more

This place is bad. Inefficient at best. My partner and I came in to grab smoothies on the go. It wasn't even busy. they had 3 people behind the counter. Multiple smoothies were just sitting in blenders. The couple that ordered after us got both of their smoothies before we did. Before they even started making our second one. I'm sorry but 15-20 mins to wait for 2 mediocre smoothies that cost $15 all told is just an insult. Needs to be managed by a real adult because they clearly don't understand time management or customer service. read more

I tried this place because my daughter 8 year old Chloe got a gift card for Tropical Smoothie Cafe from her violin teacher for being a model student. It's because of my daughter that I tried this place and I love her for treating dad and family to a smoothie. It's now my go to place because of this wonderful memory of my daughter and son drinking smoothies together. THE GOOD: I love the selections they have that are dairy free smoothies with real fruit. I also love how large the cups are, you get a good quantity for what you pay for so it's worth it. My favorite is the Blimey Limey and others. THE BAD: I thought this was all natural juices and naturally sweet, thing is, they do use fruit, but also there's so much sugar content in these drinks (I checked it online: 495 calories and 90 grams of sugar). I bought these smoothies regularly while I was on the road for work, thinking it's healthy drink, but I noticed that it sorta adds to the waistline, so I can't drink one of these as frequently as I would like. WHAT'S UNIQUE: I like that they also have food selections on their menu too, not just smoothies. However it's limited options for vegans, so I'll just stick with the smoothies for now. read more

Stopped in to grab a quick on the go healthy something to drink before I embarked on an hour long drive. I ordered the avocado fruit blend smoothie as I considered this sort of my late lunch. My daughter and I waited and watched as they made our smoothies. We were horrified to see them add LOTS of crushed ice on top of what looked like a little fruit & avocado mix. But there's was just as much ice maybe more as there was fruit & veggie mix! I started to ask the employee to please cut some of the ice but I thought - perhaps she knew what she was doing. I hoped it would turn out well. They handed me a huge tall styrofoam cup with lid. I stuck a straw in it and my daughter and I were out the door. Well.... how shall I say it? Simply put.. my worst fears came true- the smoothie tasted terribly diluted & taste less. It tasted like ice with a little fruit flavor tossed on top. If we hadn't been in a rush and a half mile down the road, I would have taken it back. My daughter similarly found her smoothie tasteless. I barely tasted anything besides ice. I don't recommend this place for smoothies. Try some place else. Also I suggest to this business that they eliminate the styrofoam cups. For $6 each they could cover the cost of higher quality more expensive containers. I have heard that the food is better although I can't vouch for this personally. read more

They have seemed to have gotten it together with a new lead manager...the customer service was friendly and the food was quick! Always pre order online, I download the app every time I go that way, when you hit $50 you get $5 towards anything. I have tried: Sunshine -refreshing Bahamas Mama -refreshing Strawberry limeade-not a fan Chia banana boost- makes you feel full Detox island green -my favorite !! Refreshing however has an after taste and a weird texture. Orange ginger glow-refreshing Triple berry oat -yummy and easy to make at home Service is always nice. I have always been patient and given this location the benefit of the doubt because it seems like they're constantly understaffed. However, I placed an order for pick up and it was almost 15 minutes after the pickup window that it was ready. Annoying but no big deal i'm in no rush and they're busy. But when I get home and realize I paid for an edible straw ($1 up charge) and did not receive one, then open my flatbread and there's only a small glob of pesto and one slice of tomato with chicken ( I ordered no chicken, i'm vegetarian) it becomes an extremely disappointing experience over all. One of the best Tropical Smoothie Cafes around. This location is new and spacious. It is conveniently located across the street from Arborland Mall. I've been to a number of these places and this one so far is my favorite. With the exception of the rude cashier who didn't greet or thank me for my business, everything else was perfect. I was feeling under the weather and needed something icy, cold, non-dairy and soothing to on my throat. TSC is a big score. The place is easy to get to, just off Washtenaw. I ducked in and happy to find a bright clean dining room, with friendly staff eager to greet and help me. I ordered the Orange Ginger Glow. It was perfect! Loaded with vitamin C, fresh flavor and just what I was looking for. The top note flavor was carrot, then the pineapple came through. Super tasty - I immediately wanted another one. This place is pretty new and the location is great. It's exceptionally clean on the inside and has a cool feel to it. The smoothies are always good although sometimes there's been confusion when I call ahead and order. One time they added oats instead of chia seeds. But besides that, the people who work here are super friendly and are doing their best to get the hang of things. Come here quite often. read more

I've only been here three times, and one of the drinks I ordered wasn't really to my liking (Avocolada), but there's one drink on the menu good enough to give this smoothie place 5 stars anyway: CHIA BANANA!!!! I came here for dinner last night. I ordered the açaí berry smoothie with whey and it was delicious. It didn't fill me up as much as I was hoping, but I didn't entirely expect it to. They also had wraps, panini-style sandwiches, and quesadillas that all looked delicious. There were several different flavors and several different styles of smoothies for plenty of options. The staff weren't able to answer my questions very well when I was asking about how reasonable it was to have a smoothie as a meal and also the difference between the different types of protein powders available, hence the four stars. If I lived in the area I would certainly go back for another smoothie or to try their buffalo chicken wrap. Also of note, smoothies are reasonably priced compared with other smoothie companies as are the wraps. read more

I LOVE tropical smoothie, all of there smoothies and food is super good. This location only gets 2 stars because my smoothie was good, because I would give it 1 star. On my lunch break I came to this location today and the girl taking orders was extremely rude not someone I would have taking care of the customers with that attitude. All of the workers (there was a lot at busy lunch time) looked absolutely miserable, all looked like they hated being there. I ordered a smoothie and a salad bowl, I got my bag of food and raced back to work to find out I was given a wrap and not the salad bowl I asked for. Maybe if the girl taking the orders took the time to be nicer to the customers she would have got my order right, or offered me a receipt and I could have seen that she was incorrect.
