I live over 30 minutes from the property and would have appreciated more notice to plan accordingly. We had a 2 PM appointment scheduled the following day. I took time off work and drove to the property to make sure everything was ready. I sent multiple text updates throughout the day showing the pool's progress, but received no response. When I finally called at 3 PM, I was abruptly told the appointment was canceled because he was "too far away." This is some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Communication: 0/10. All…read morethings started off great, Onarbin was very responsive, showed up as he said he would and seemed professional. He found leaks quickly, which is where I wished I would have stopped. Unfortunately, I hired him to replace my leaking pool skimmer. The installation was extremely poor. When we expressed our concerns, Onarbin was quick to give excuses but told us he would return to make repairs. He never did. I now have to hire a new company to repair the work done by O.P. Pool. The photos and video show the issues. Problems with the skimmer installation include: 1. Skimmer was installed too high, it is now sitting above my patio pavers causing a tripping hazard. 2. Skimmer opening at the deck is too small for the skimmer basket to be lifted out. To fix this, Onarbin cut up the skimmer basket so that it could fit through the hole that is too small. 3. One pool pipe under skimmer basket is now filled with loose gravel from the installation. 4. Grout around the skimmer is crumbling. And the top of the skimmer is falling apart 5. Deck pavers around skimmer are now all loose.

Which in my humble opinion is a fair reason having sat in traffic going only 25 miles that can take over an hour plus depending on the time of day, accidents, and weather. So I took that review off. But then Chris sent me another message saying thank you and even offered to review quotes for me so I would not be taken advantage of. This is an above and beyond offer and I felt that I needed to let everyone know. We must have gone through 3-4 different unreliable pool companies before being lucky enough to find SoFlo Pools. Here's what is our condominium building loves about SoFlo Pools! 1. They have a super cool report system that emails a picture and chemical report each time they service the pool so that you know it's safe for swimming. 2. Affordable. We were with them for two years, prior to receiving a modest fee increase. 3. Similar to another reviewer, we had a non-functioning hot tub / spa. SoFlo Pools was the only company to work with us to repair the system. It was complicated, and they figured it out, and installed a new control system. 4. Customer service responds quickly via phone or email. And on more than one occasion, one of the company owners has assisted us in problem solving.

Communication after this initial review improved. I was getting weekly calls from lady handling permits and even sales rep when needed. I did still have to speak to the engineer at the DERM department on a weekly basis too to make sure that both parties were understanding each other bc the special permit got "denied" 2 times. I do have to say that once pool construction began everything ran really quick and fast. We had a pool before Christmas. From the ground breaking to the finish work I had Pepe and another superintendent come in to supervise the work at least once a week or they will come and prep for the next part. I was also almost at all inspections and spoke to the inspectors as recommended by Pepe. Overall, I do believe that they have to communicate with the clients more often during the permitting process and specially when there are special requirements for a permit due to the property. So far my pool looks beautiful and it hasn't had any problems.
