Great fast casual lunch option. I've had Tropical Grille catered in for meetings before but this was the first time in the restaurant. You order at the counter like most fast casual and then find a seat with your meal. I imagine that seating might be a challenge at peak times and for larger parties. I had the Deluxe Classic Wrap (Chopped Chicken Breast, Lettuce, Tomatoes and Yellow Rice in Pita) with Garlic Cilantro sauce. As with every other experience the food was really good. I've been going to Tropical Grille since they opened their Greer location. I've never had a bad meal from here. Some days the chicken is better than other days...but it's Always good! My favorite is the Deluxe Classic-add black beans. It has yellow rice, chicken breast, lettuce and tomato - don't forget to add black beans. They taste great with the yellow rice. They have a variety of sauces. I always get the sweet mustard curry or garlic cilantro. All of the sauces are excellent. You also need to try the fried plantains. They are sooooo good with rice and beans. Sometimes I just order rice and beans and plantains. That's a good meal too. Really, everything here is good!! The pork, the chicken, the steak, the rice and beans. The only thing I haven't tried is their sandwiches. They have different specials on different days. The last time I checked they had "ropa vieja" on Friday's. You have to try this!!! It's beef brisket with garlic, green olives and green peppers. Call to verify that they have it on Friday though ( it might have changed). I've been there before on Friday lunch break and a line of people was out the door waiting to get their beef brisket!! When it's gone it's gone until the next Friday. They also have a family dinner for a great price. You can order large portions and sides to take Home and share with family. Cuban food on the go! Cheap and filling. Had the Deluxe classic. Grilled chicken breast with fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Can't go wrong with that. Of course I had to put some of the many sauces they have into my lunch. My favorite is Sweet mustard curry with some Garlic Cilantro sauce. Has a very uniquely satisfying taste. This place has a long line but it doesn't take very long to get through. The workers there are very efficient in getting your food prepped and checked out. A good variety of bowls, wraps, and sandwiches. Pair those with the many sauces and you have a lot of combinations to play with. Located in the Pelham Place plaza in Greer, Tropical Grille serves up healthy and fresh foods including roasted chicken, roasted pork, wraps, salads, chops (chopped chicken breast), fresh sides, kids meals, and desserts. The place is order at the counter with open kitchen area. The roasted meats and sides are visible behind the glass counter and the food is served and made fresh to order. There's ample self serve table and booth seating in the long bright dining room. The other location is Tropical Chicken Grill, which is located at Pelham Commons in Greenville. I stopped in here for lunch recently and the place was pretty busy. I could smell the aroma of fresh roasted meats in the air. Getting hungry I ordered the Cuban Roasted Pork Wrap ($5.49 plus tax) for carryout. The Cuban wrap was loaded with carved very juicy and tender slow roasted pork (12 hrs), black beans, and fluffy yellow rice wrapped on warm thick soft pita flatbread. The flavors of seasoned pork was insanely melt in your mouth great. On my next travels through the Greenville area, I will definitely have to try out one of their chops with the homemade dipping sauces. read more

If you like Cuban Food, this is your place. It's quick, tasty, filling and cheap. We ariived on a Saturday night and the place was steady and busy. It still moved quickly with two people ahead of us. I had the Steak with beans and white rice and my son had the Cuban Chop--which is chopped chicken with white beans and rice. My steak came with Plantains as well. The food was hot and fresh. It only took about 10 minutes from ordering to leaving the restaurant. Our two dinners with tax were $18.50 and they were the highest priced items. The best part of this place is their sauces. I enjoy the spicy sauce which is green in color. My son like the Curry Mustard sauce and they also have a ranch sauce. You can ask for all three if you want. The bottom line on this place is for the price of a Subway 12" you can have a decent meal from a clean friendly place, which is good at what they do--Fast food that is hot, filling and tasty. Love the new cauliflower rice option! When avoiding carbs this is a great way to still enjoy my chicken fresco bowl. I ordered half cauliflower rice and have yellow rice, so good! Next time I'll try full cauliflower rice but beware they run out sometimes so go early. I also tried half chicken half pork which is awesome if you want to mix it up. The veggies are fresh and the chicken is cooked well. The sauces are amazing, I recommend trying one of each on your first go but the yellow is my absolute favorite now I only get that one, creamy curry flavors! One man on grill and young lady over the cold bar, both preparing food, neither with mask on. A third lady came out from back not wearing mask. I asked young lady if they wore mask at this establishment and she said they did not. As a healthcare worker exposed daily to people in that environment I find it appalling that a business in the community who prepares food for people think that masklessness is ok. It is not. We all have a social responsibility to do our part to protect one another from this virus. I have to say, the curry mustard sauce doesn't taste like mustard and mustard should be jealous. It is so good, I went to the sauce first. I have had a few specials as well as the chicken. The first time I came here I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm certainly happy that my coworkers insisted on dragging me out here for lunch. I always order the Cuban Roasted Pork Chop because it comes with black beans. My favorite sauce is the yellow one because I leave feeling great since it is curry based and not dairy based like some of their other sauces. In my opinon, their portioning is perfect. Most of my friends work out a lot more than me, so it is a great size meal for them. For me, I really only eat about half, and it reheats fantastically. I appreciate the fact that I can get two meals for the price of one here. All of the food itself is cooked fresh right in front of you, which always is a plus for me. Eating here everyday is even an option because they offer "meal planning" type services where you can pick up meals for the entire week with them if you want. I haven't tried this service out yet, but I love the idea. You also can't beat the fast and friendly service every time. read more

We went to Tropical Grill around lunchtime on a Friday. Needless to say, the line was pretty long (about 10-15 people ahead). Since this was my first time here I wasn't familiar with the menu items (bowls, wraps and sandwiches). It seemed fairly basic, with the protein offerings of grilled chicken, Cuban pork, and steak. They also had black beans. I opted for the chicken and veggies bowl which included chopped chicken and steamed broccoli and cauliflower over a bed of brown rice. They also had yellow rice and white rice. Wasn't sure what kind of sauce to order - I asked for "all" and was given four to try - they weren't marked. But my guess is mild salsa, sour cream, garlic jalapeno and sweet mustard curry. They were all pretty tasty for dipping the chicken and veggies in. The downside: Ordering line was cramped. A few of the chicken pieces were charred from the grilling. The upside: Food was a relatively reasonable value - my order, tip included, (no drink because I forgot to order and the cashier didn't try to upsell) was about $11. Outdoor seating available; plenty of parking. Line went relatively fast. Yes. I'd go to this place again to try their South of the Border bowl with cheese and guacamole! read more

This is place is a delicious workweek lunch! The food is authentic and freshly prepared, created from Cuban recipes that the chef learned from his parents. When asked how he comes up with all the delicious recipes, he says, "It's a Cuban thing!" The service is always polite and cheerful, and they won't hesitate to make a recommendation to you. You will leave full and satisfied. My favorite item on the menu is the South of the Border Chop - chopped grilled chicken atop yellow rice and black beans, with fresh lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Top it with the yellow mustard curry sauce and you've got perfection! There is also ropa vieja as a daily special occasionally - slow roasted pork with a tangy sauce (with green olives in it!) over yellow rice and black beans. Again - delicious! Finally, the brisket special is to die for. He prepares it in a delicious wine sauce with red and green peppers and onions, over yellow rice and black beans with a side of plantains. Absolutely love this place and the people. I would have given 5 stars but they keep changing recipes and paper ware. They went to some garbage paper ware that observe the juice from your food. The bowls are also shaped like a funnel and you can't get to all of your food. They also changed to a more flimsy and cheaper feeling fork. Lastly, they added new vegetables to the veggie mix and the zucchini is just soggy if you don't get it fresh. read more
