Food was good got a large stew chicken and arroz con gandules. Sat in and ate with my child. Had some food to take home as well.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!! I Don't Know What's Going On With This Place But It Used To Be My Favorite. We Ordered 2 Whole Chicken Combos And When We Got Home 1 Of The Chickens Looked Like It Was Picked Through. Right In The Trash It Went

This dominican restaurant give very small portions of rice to black people if you come in speaking spanish they will give you your money worth. I ordered rice and beans and she gave me 2 scoops and then took the back of the spoon to spread it across the pan. I asked her for another scoop and she got mad and took some rice out my pan shouted at me that all i'm going to get now and then started speaking in spanish to the other server. I told her never mind and walked out. Not only me but quite a few black people I know who have patronized that establishment stated they treat blacks with meal portions much smaller and worse than they do their spanish speaking customers. It's mainly the female servers who do it the most. For their discrimination and attitude towards black people they should get 0 stars not the 1 I did give them.

Hey don't go here they were extremely rude and unhelpful to my friend who placed an order here through uber eats. The person working here harassed them and didn't do their job at all. Their testimony is on twitter and actually I may as well post it here too ...

the food here is really good. flavored well, savory, and filling. also very cheap. i got pollo guisado (stewed chicken) with rice and beans for $9. my only issue was that there was a lot of rice and not enough beans but that's fine. it's funny reading all the reviews by the white people moving into the area. they complain that the workers here are rude but these gentrifiers probably don't know what they're ordering and then leave a bad review for no reason. it's not that hard to look up the menu items on google and figure out what you want beforehand so you're not holding up the line asking a million questions. the service is great as long as you're not wasting time for no reason. there's also an area to eat if you want to dine in.

This is my go to spot in Harlem when I'm in the mood for authentic Dominican food. Everything is delicious, the customer service is great, lots of options and I love that the majority of the food they serve is already made and displayed ready for them to serve you. The prices are also great for the large portions they serve. When I order the longaniza it takes about 10 minutes for them to make. My only complaint is that the lines are usually really long which is telling of how great the food is but it would be nice if they had more workers. Yesterday I waited almost 30 minutes in line, this was on a Wednesday evening about 6pm.

How much in advance should I order catering from this business?

I would place the order at least a week in advance to give them a heads up. No doubt in my mind they will definitely deliver and you will be more than satisfied!!

The staff are very friendly, despite the limited English skills (and we don't speak Spanish). The restaurant takes cash and Zelle. Both of the below entrees came with rice and (a very small portion of) plantain. *Roast Pork: I assume this was pernil. It had a nice balanced seasoning that was gently savory and went well with the rice. Not a particularly "wet" dish, don't expect a lot of sauce. *Chicken Stew: They gave us two large drumsticks of chicken stew. The marinade / sauce is VERY lightly flavored and I wish the seasoning could be stronger / more interesting. This is not the best Dominican food I ever had but I did appreciate the homey charm and the very low prices. For two servings of roast pork and one serving of chicken stew we paid $40 flat!! It was enough to serve our group of four. I don't know how many other places in Hell's Kitchen or other well-visited parts of Manhattan would be this affordable.

Walked into Margon Restaurant in Midtown and instantly felt like I found one of NYC's secret cheat codes. Small space, big flavors, zero nonsense. The kind of place where you're elbow-to-elbow with strangers but everyone's united by one thing... serious hunger. Ordered the Cuban sandwich -- pressed, crispy, loaded with roast pork, glazed ham, Swiss, pickles, and mustard. One bite in and I stopped talking... which never happens. This thing didn't just deliver... it showed up early and over-prepared. Then came La Bandera Dominicana Braised beef swimming in savory gravy, yellow rice piled like a mountain, black beans doing their thing, and sweet maduros sitting on top like the victory flag. Simple. Comforting. Dangerous... because now I want it every week. Place gets busy, gets loud, gets chaotic... but it moves like a well-oiled machine. Years of experience and zero attitude. Just good people making great food. In a neighborhood full of tourist traps, this hole-in-the-wall is throwing haymakers. Sometimes the best escape in NYC isn't a rooftop... It's a Cuban sandwich and a plastic tray. And honestly... I'd pick that every time. #nycfood #hiddennyc #midtowneats

Everyone agreed with my suggestion to eat Latin American food and we made a reservation at Buena Vista, not far away from our hotel and also not far from the theater. We came over a bit early, around 5:15 and were immediately seated. We were immediately impressed by the business model. It is a melange of Latin American and Iberian faire with exquisite curation. Their cocktails were absolutely delightful, I had a Pantalones en Fuego, others had an exquisite margarita with passion fruit flavor and a Daiquirí de Fresa, just amazing. Then we ordered interminable Hors d'oeuvres. Their ham croquetas and mushroom croquetas were the rage, as well as the tostoncillos ibéricos and ceviche limeño, The main courses followed, a paella valenciana for two, the magret de pato, a delicious duck dish, and a grilled Argentine parrilla. Not bad for four people. Dessert included churros and tres leches. And of course, a bottle of a great Verdejo. Service was just flawless. We had several staff members all contributing to making our Father's Day evening special. All around us it was festive, with plenty of well dressed Spanish speakers in several tables, and the accents of a half a dozen Spanish speaking countries. Plenty of gringoes too.
