WHY WE WENT HERE: - Groupon date deal…read more THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located at Denios Farmers Market but at the Vineyard Rd/Church St and Atkinson St entrance (park in the parking lot off Church St and Atkinson St; shorter walk over) THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - it's a farmers market so it's not a top notch facility; it gets the job done - there are 2 shooting areas separated by a partial wall - you shoot at bales of hay that have cloth or paper targets affixed to them CUSTOMER SERVICE: - provided minimal instruction, but it was fun having the range to ourselves until the end of our allotted time for the next group to come in

I have took 2 archery lessons previously at another place few years ago but wanted to take another lesson to make sure that I have been doing archery the right way. I got a deal through Groupon. It was such a deal for 50 min of class. Since I took lessons prior and been doing archery here and there for years, I kinda know what I am doing. During the lesson, I felt that the instructor didn't really teach much. He briefly told us the stance and just shoot our hearts out. If I didn't have any archery background, I would have been so lost. Everyone was shooting their rounds. The instructor was in the back doing his own thing. Here and there, he would popped up. The instructor was a nice guy overall but I think he could do better by actually teaching and showing us the proper way to doing archery. Overall, I had fun even though I didn't hit a bullseye.

The options of boats and everything that they have out is many many I could get lost in the store It could overstimulate you a little bit because there's just so much however, the aisles are so big and everything that it kind of makes up for it Everything is immaculate clean it's the first time I use the restroom. The restroom is huge. The staff is always very nice. They greet you when you come in they greet you when you leave. The only problem I have is that I don't have a $10,000 credit card for this place. Or maybe that's a good thing They have so many lures to choose from I could get lost looking at them, but love that for me for fishing. I love that they have a variety of fishing poles and they also have cookware there. If you did not know that if you need to go camping this is a great place to go value wise. I would say great prices great material clothes wise. I have sweatshirts that I've had for over 3+ years and they've never got ruined in the washer and dryer and I got these ones on sale for like five to $10. I've been waiting for that sale again. I think I miss it. However, I must say hands-down they have the best quality clothes. They have a lot of options of stuff. If you know somebody that's having a baby. You're going to a baby shower you could come here and find some cool stuff for them and get out and get to see stuff you want to see as well.

Let me tell you all the cons first and then go over all the pros of this place…read more First the name is extremely misleading because it's no where close to Sacramento. However it's really the only con I can muster because everything else is amazing. This is a beautiful and large shooting range located far for people from the Bay Area. However if you happen to be near the area (I was at the Elk Grove Sportsman's which is about 45 minutes away), I would HIGHLY recommend you to come here. Everything about this place is laid back which is great for most experienced range goers (if you've been to other ranges so you know the rules). There is no one to breath over your shoulder or even fuss with yorlur firearms. They treat you as an adult which I just love. However it's probably not a good place for first timers because they expect you to know how to handle firearms safely and properly. The cost is very reasonable ($25 currently) and they give you a free target which you staple to a wooden stand that you carry to the distance you'd like. I also love the fact it's open on Monday and Tuesday which is not the case for many outdoor ranges in the Bay Area. It's not crowded and the range master is on a speaker from a central "traffic control box" and he'll do the 2 minute warning and 15 minutes shooting announcements. Overall, it's an amazing place for shooting. Honestly if it were closer (it's almost 3 hours drive for me), I'd be making this range my primary range and pay for the membership for cheaper range fees.

Together we've been to an indoor range in North Highlands that ai frequent, and the Mather shooting range before it closed. We came out here on a Sunday after so she could test out her new pistol, and so we could my rifles on the rifle side of the range. We checked in the main shop area, and picked up a speed loader and extra disposable ear plugs. And then eventually went out to the pistol range first. Both the pistol and long gun range alike, have a large number of shooting bags each. And each have a good range distance for shooting, wapwxially the rifle range. Definitely will be coming back for more outdoor shooting, and look forward to some long range shooting as well.

It's appalling how bad the customer service is in Sportsman's Warehouse. I have experienced the…read moresame problem at the Rancho Cordova store and at the Rocklin store. The problem is the firearms counter. I have purchased a few guns there over the past 13 years, and the experience has universally been horrible. The basic tone is this: The staff's demeanor is as if they are doing you a favor by selling you something. They are quite deliberately aloof, indifferent, and they slow-walk everything they do. This occurs whether they are busy or not. Either way, it will be an agonizingly slow experience if you want help or want to purchase a firearm. They randomly chose to use or ignore their "take a number" system, and when you go in there's never any way to tell whether you should take a number or not. You can stand at the counter, waiting for help for an hour at times. Often they won't acknowledge your presence or even make eye contact. It feels as if you are offending them by even being there, and they want nothing more than for you to just go away. If you actually wish to purchase a firearm, I would recommend budgeting at least two hours in the store. Or better yet, go to another store that has some level of competent management and values their customers. That's what I'm going to do. The clearest way I can explain it? The firearms counter at Sportsman's Warehouse is exactly like trying to get help from a big city branch of the California DMV. That sums it up perfectly.
