Trolley 5 is awesome! Our beertender was super helpful and friendly. Not only did she guide us through the menu, she also offered suggestions of places for us to visit while in Calgary. She made some non-alcoholic cocktails for my son, none of which were on the menu and mixed up cocktails for others in my group. As a group we ordered the poutine, a delicious combination of a flavorful gravy, cheese curds and perfectly cooked fries. We also enjoyed wings (Wednesday was $.49 wing day. We had the Nashville BBQ, Trolley 5 House Hot, Dill Pickle (wow!), and they made us a great combination of Lemon Pepper and Teriyaki (lemonyaki). The wings were well cooked, juicy and well sauced. Add to that the beers that they offer. I enjoyed the Rosé Gose, a fantastically tart beer. Light raspberry flavors in a traditional gose base make this beer absolutely crushable, especially on a hot day. I also had the High Five IPA. I was not overly hoppy, so it's very approachable for any beer drinker. It's copper in color and has a nice toasty malty front-end and a velvety soft finish. I also tasted their small batch strawberry white ale. More white ale than strawberry, this is a very light tasting brew with hints of strawberry. It's refreshing and interesting. Definitely a beer with flavors you don't experience often. Trolley 5 is a must stop in downtown Calgary!

I love Trolley for beer, burgers, and sports. I was there for the Oilers Play Offs and wow what fun. Fantastic Service and Incredibly Fans.

Passing through Calgary, I was in search of a place to try Poutine for the first time. Not knowing the area at all, I found one place to try, but ended up here because we liked the vibe as we walked by. There's plenty of seating inside and out, and space heaters keep the outdoor patio comfortable. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, and was ready for suggestions when asked. We had the More Cow Bell Burger and the Show Me Poutine with beef brisket, which was absolutely amazing! I did find it a bit salty, but having never had Poutine before I figured that was par for the course. It certainly didn't stop me from eating the whole bowl though! There are a lot of options up and down this main street, but I recommend giving this place a try. Great food and service, good people watching and delicious Poutine!

Music was too quiet at 400 decibels. We could still somewhat make our 1 in 10 words being spoken at our table. Food value sucks moose balls Food is good but as $10 plate. Pandemic must have squeezedd them. Customer beware: bathrooms are hidden Also waitresses show up 2 to 3 in 2 hours and only if flagged over. Beers were SUPURB! 4 STARS IF THEY DITCH FOOD, WAITRESSES AND DJ.

I received a call, offering me a free sloppy joe. arrived to claim, but my god was the service slow. a two hour wait, everything came late, the joe arrived on a small saucer plate. they claimed it came with chips, i was ecstatic! three singular chips, i began to panic. i ate my salad with a toothpick, they wouldnt bring me cutlery, managers a dick, ive never written a yelp review so quick. Trolley Five? More like Trolley deprived...of food, drinks and good service.

Eggs Benny!

Wasn't planning on coming here but glad I did. Very very good and friendly service. Lots of beer on tap and plenty of TV screens for sports (or music videos if you are there for brunch). I got the Eggs Benny with tots and it was solid. The IPA I got was also tasty! I will be coming back for sure. Lots of Covid protocols in place including signing in for contact tracing.

Veggie burger with very weird poutine! The gravy was not nice at all!

Brisket and pulled pork and poutine with slaw

There were so many amazing dinner options in Calgary that it was hard to choose just one! Luckily, thanks to a suggestion from our hotel and Yelp we decided to try out Trolley 5. Trolley 5 is a massive brewpub with tons of seating and a menu with something to please everyone. When we walked up to the hostess the first floor and outdoor area was absolutely packed, but she was able to seat us upstairs no problem. We also snagged a great half outdoors spot by the open second floor window. There are plenty of beers to try and we went with the white IPA which was refreshing and delicious. For eats I had the chicken tacos which came with a massive order of three that were stuffed to the brim with chicken, pico de gallo and cheese. Flavorful and delicious! My fiance ordered a two meat combo plate with brisket, pulled pork and sides of cole slaw and poutine. He was very pleased with his meal and finished every bite. He especially loved the caddy of various sauces that was brought over to the table. Although Calgary has a ton of restaurants, I'd be tempted to revisit Trolly 5 when / if I find myself in Calgary again. For now, I'll urge you to try it if you find yourself in the area.

Basement tap room

I entered Trolley 5's "name our beer" contest and got invited to their soft opening/media preview night tonight. They've taken over a third of Melrose's old location and turned it into a three floor restaurant and beer brewing extravaganza. The front of the building opens right up on the main floor so even though you didn't get a seat on the small patio, most of the main floor will have a patio/open air sort of feeling. The basement, which they call their tap room has a more intimate approach. There's a horseshoe shaped bar, a line of booths on one wall, and a couple of bar-height tables for groups of 8. The ceilings are low, the lighting is dark, and the only music you hear is from the main floor. I tried their three beers that they had on tap. It was my first time trying a white IPA and it was an excellent mix of styles. The service was excellent as the staff were very attentive at making sure we had some of the free samples and that our glasses were full. So far so good Trolley 5.

Busy during stampede week. Great eye candy. Good list of beers but many were out, which were surprising.

My server was the fantastic Jackie. Down-to-earth friendliness, efficient and helpful. We got along very well. I opted for their Fortunella Gin with Tonic. Fantastic flavors and quite smooth. Two of those and I was feeling fine. For lunch I ordered the Steak Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The salad was substantial and tasty. The steak sandwich had good flavor, but was tougher and fattier than I hoped for. Jackie also offered exceptional assistance with some merchandise I bought as well. My first visit to Last Best will not be my last. Thanks Jackie!

The wings stole the show; they were crispy and flavorful. I asked for a side of their buffalo sauce and LOVED it. I got the chicken sandwich after that. I wish it had a little more sauce, but still enjoyed it. The side of fries were nicely crisped and tasty as well. My partner order the curry rice bowl with tofu. She enjoyed it, and appreciated how much tofu was in the dish. The beer was great too, which was a pleasant surprise coming from the San Diego beer scene. Finally, our waitress was super friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend stopping by.

It tends to be a "must visit" everytime I come down to Calgary. They have a great beer selection and a classic pub fare food menu with clearly marked vegan and vegetarian options. I highly recommend the pickle pizza! The Ship is a great space to meet with friends and spend hours catching up over beers and boozy eggnog. Keep in mind, it is always going to be busy. There's a good chance you will need to wait for a table but if it's a nice enough day, even in the middle of winter, you can usually find a spot on the patio.

It's a classic pub vibe, with a decor that matches its name, but it's the food that really took me by surprise. Food wise, they have an astonishing selection of Gluten Free Option, so for once I was able to enjoy appetizers galore. The calamari was tasty as heck. The chicken strips could've used a bit of seasoning, but came with excellent sauces. And well, I have never had a bad tater tot in my life. I'd like to go back and try more here, that's for sure.
