    Hot Chicken Sandwich

I've been here a few times. The first time was for a work function that included a tour of the brewery, very cool. The food is excellent, menu is not a typical brewpub fare, really interesting selection of appetizers and mains. In between is there hotdog menu, a choice of three types, a great snack if you're not quite ready a full meal. Not to be too controversial, but my wife says the hot chicken sandwich is better than the Big Stop's. If you're from the Maritimes you'll know just how serious that claim is. The beer is excellent and a very broad selection. We stuck to the light lager, very nice. It's family friendly, at least during the day, and has ample outdoor seating. Service is attentive and very friendly, it's nice to get out again.

Can you think of a better place to spend a warm afternoon? Dandy Brewing has said goodbye to most of their parking lot to accommodate more people, tables and fire pits. Who needs it anyway! Dandy is located in Ramsey, conveniently across the street from my work. In pre-Covid times, the team and I would frequently head over for a drink. It felt so good to get back to Dandy. The fam and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. RATING: 9/10 - Dandy Brewing Let's get down to business! If you've never tried Dandy beer, you must! They're constantly experimenting and creating trendy, fun brews. Their sours are especially noteworthy (the peach cobbler is an all time fave)! This time around I started with a flight of 3: two guest taps and the T2G-IPA at a hefty 7.5% alcohol. Their beer is booze forward--do be careful as it does creep up on you. After my flight, I ordered the T2Gx2-IPA at 9.69% and let's just say, I was feeling it. We started with the Rollmops upon the recommendation of our server. Once I learned what it was, I was hesitant... pickled herring fillets (they used trout here) that are then wrapped around a pickle--sounds fishy to me. I was surprised by how much I liked this! It was a novel little bite that was very different from our more traditional brewpub main courses. Beer always fills me up so I decided on a more moderate sized meal--the Chili Dog. Beer and dogs are the best food pairing. The bun was ultra fresh and soft (they are made in house) and the chili meat was seasoned to perfection. My mom ordered the Chicago Dog and my dad and sis ordered the Patty Melts. Dandy is known for this as-close-to-perfect-as-you're-going-to-get comfort food. I had a little bite and can appreciate why. Imagine a burger meets a reuben meets a grilled cheese. Everyone was most happy with their orders. For dessert we gobbled the Oatmeal and Coconut Ice Cream Sandwich (also made in house). The cookie was still warm, the sea buckthorn caramel was sweet, slightly tart and blended into the ice cream like a dream. This is a must try! Our server was a joy, making detailed food and beer recommendations. Do yourself a favor and reserve a spot.

Been wanting to check out The Dandy Brewing Company (Calgary's first nano brewery) for ages. First time I've been to a nano brewery in cowtown. Good first choice! We came on a Sunday afternoon around 3:30pm and it was pretty busy. The tap room is small but there's a communal picnic area, couple seats at the bar and a few tables to sit at. Prices are great! 5 oz ($2.00), 10 oz ($3.50) and 20 oz ($6.50). Like how they have a few bar snacks available if you want some munchies. We got flights and tried all 6 of the available beers (they usually have 8). Our favourites were the "Summertime and the livin' is EZ" pink guava sour, "Prince of the Rodeo" grapefruit gose and "The Dandy" wild sour. Good beats (vinyl!), friendly staff and solid beer list. Definitely worth the drive if you're a craft beer geek.

I ordered the Bright Young Things. Very light and tasty!

This brewery was tucked inside small businesses and had a small selection of beer on tap. My sister ended up getting their flights of sour beer and I got the Bright Young Things wheat ale. We ordered the mix nuts and popcorn to snack on and I thought they were overpowered by the thick sweet sauce they had on it. If it was just regular popcorn and mix nuts, it would have been 10x better. Overall, the place was a cute little brewery. Probably better ones near by.

Potato Latkes and side of, hollandaise, poached eggs, and bacon! Mmmm!!! AMAZING!

Food is incredible, beers are also fabulous. This is a true Calgary gem for a business meeting, a nice date or office function. Beers and menu are always being updated and are always done expertly. There's lots of great events supporting local artists and DJ 's as well as unique posters for sale. It's definitely different than the original dandy in the N.E. Make no mistake, everything is still done with an emphasis on quality and craftsmanship. But now they have a phenomenal kitchen are doing more supporting the art and music scene here in Calgary Not to mention they are always keeping it fresh and shaking up the formula at Dandy! This place never disappoints!

Well isn't this just Dandy! They're all settled into their new digs in Ramsay in an old bike shop turned brewery. My brother and I came in last weekend for their grand opening. We got there just in time in the early afternoon as about 20 minutes after we arrived they started turning people away or having them wait outside as they were at capacity. Now this is my only gripe about the place, it's a little small. Now of course it was opening weekend of Dandy 2.0 so things were expected to be crammed, but compared to other breweries around the city I would have expected more than a dozen or so tables. There were no tables when I got there so we ordered a beer and stood in a corner. Not long after a group left and we shared a larger table with a few other people. It was great to chat about beer and other things with some strangers and meet some new people. From the kitchen we tried the Dandy Hot Dog and the pork tonandos. Both were excellent. As for the beer, all were great as usual. Cosmic Dance was one of the favourites around the table.

There's a new tap house in town! Now you can down tasty, Calgary made beer in the comfort of Calgary's only nano brewery. Apart from drinking the warm, flat stuff right from the fermenter taps, this is as fresh as it gets. And way tastier too. So you probably have to pay a premium since it's so good, right? I'm glad you asked, because the answer is a very strong NO. 10oz. half pints for $3.5. Full 20 ouncers for $6.25 and sample flights for I don't even remember. You can also get 1Ls and growlers to go, or have your own filled. I took home a growler of The Julia peach sour. I suggest that you do the same before it's gone. Hurry. Even though they don't have a kitchen, Dandy does a good job of providing some simple and delicious snacks that pair nicely with their beer. I'd recommend grabbing a ploughman's lunch for $10. It's an assortment of meats and cheeses from Peasant Cheese Shop (http://www.yelp.ca/biz/peasant-cheese-shop-calgary), and there's something to go with every beer you're drinking. With room along the bar, a large picnic table and some window seating, The Dandy taproom is a dandy spot (I had too) for an under 20 person group event where you want to feel like you've got the whole place to yourselves. (Probably call in advance to see if another group is planning on that.) Have a date coming up? Screen them with Dandy. If it goes well, you'll win major points for creativity. If not... Kick them to the curb, it wasn't meant to be. I hear rumour that relationships that form through a mutual love of tasty craft beer are pretty good relationships indeed. You get to be all cute and share drinks and discover your similarities and differences in taste, all while getting a buzz on. It's brilliant. I've rambled on long enough. I'd love to walk you through each of their brews, but it's better if you check it out for yourself. Enjoy.

It's a tasting room. They have snacks but it's not a kitchen. Also it's open only Thursday through Sunday so check the hours before you come. Just so you know! Now that I've got that out of the way, it's a comfortable laid back place with friendly, laid back staff and pretty damn good beer. Nice quiet location, small place, no TVs. They have a turntable and vinyl and they're fine with you picking what goes on next most of the time. So what's not to like!

The new location is awesome. So hip. Their selection of brews are actually so good. We tried several and were in love with them all. I don't usually like stout and they sold me on their Dandy from the Underground. We ordered the mixed nuts and popcorn and they were covered in molasses and it was soooo good. Only 4 stars bc the service wasn't great. No direction how to order (at the counter, no table service) and no direction where to get the food from. Had to stand in line again to ask. Awk

Amazing beers! Some of the consistently best beers in town! The ambiance is fantastic, especially on the grand patio.
