This is the classiest hardware store I've ever been in! They might not have that toilet flange or…read morePVC pipe that you need, but their hammers are made of pure silver and mahogany. This isn't really a place I'd go to do any serious home repairs. Their selection of anything repair-like is fairly limited, instead their selections are more for an upgrade. You might come in for a new drill bit, and leave with a coffee table book on Veuve Cliquot Champagne. I enjoy their selection of Christmas stuff- they always do a great job of imaginative and colorful ornaments that they put in their window displays. This place is the place to go if you need to get a new grill- they've got an impressive selection and all the accessories you could think of to go with the barbecue. When I went, they were showing off how one of their Traeger Grills works with a rack of ribs- that'll get my attention! The clerks are attentive, and they do a good job of making the space inviting and cool to look at. It's a great place to get a gift for someone on you Christmas list. Parking is easy- this place is located in the Sunset Ridge Shopping Center, an historic shopping center in Alamo Heights. If you need real hardware stuff, you're better off elsewhere- this really isn't the point of this place Don't go looking for specialized tools or equipment.

Located in the Sunset Ridge area of Alamo Heights, this place is always swarmed with customers and friendly employees. Before you go inside to check out the colorful Yeti and Le Creuset collections, hit up the clearance section outside. They also always have the best selection of wreaths and door decorations. The prices are a little expensive but so is the quality. From the Green Egg outdoor grill and Miele vacuum cleaners to luxury laundry detergent, it's all at Subset & Co!

Great shopping for architectural relics. Dozens of old doors, stained glass windows, unusual street…read morelamps, and more. The owner was very pleasant to work with and had been in the relics or antiques business for 40 years. The price was reasonable, and we have several other things we're considering as we restore our antique home. Mike and Carol San Antonio

I saw so many colorful and old/vintage windows and home pieces that could add or enhance your home or add a unique aesthetic to your home. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the pricing, the lack of cleanliness or upkeep of the store, and the disappointment in this store definitely not being ADA complying for anyone who may have a mobility issue or wheelchair bound. There are so many items tucked away in corners and up against the walls here that it just seems like it would be dangerous and compact to try to walk comfortably. Parking might be a thing as we couldn't see any spots in front that would allow us to park. We had to park down the way (alley) and walked over to get to the store. It's really dusty here and although many things are labeled with the year and the type of wood/metal/glass the pricing just doesn't make any sense. I will say if you are down to explore and really take your time to look around to find a unique piece do it but maybe bring gloves? Everything is old and not in the best condition so be forewarned.
