The lady that did my nails argued with me about everything. I know how nails are supposed to be filed and asked her to do it in one direction on each side so my nails don't give me hang nails. She didn't like me asking her to do it. She got the pot lady next door involved too. She didn't french nail color and it looked messy, i just wanted to get away! But already one of the girls seemed annoyed. I showed what I was wanting. I showed her the designs and everything. She did not tell me that she could not do it or that they had stickers (I hate stickers) and she would not be painting the designs. The designs beings little four point stars and dots and a couple of other things that are simple. So when it comes time to do the design, she tells me she has stickers. But they end up being different shades of gold and I was frustrated at that point because I was not informed from the get go so I said okay. She told me she did not have stickers for the other two things I wanted and I asked if she could paint it and she said she would try. But if you know this ahead of time (because she knew what I wanted) why not let me know and go to someone who can actually do what I want. She did an okay job with her attempt but it was with a different shade of gold paint so now I have a glitter gold paint (did not want glittery gold) and some really yellow gold stickers and then some softer gold stickers so three mismatched golds on my nails. And she was annoyed from the beginning so she just seemed more and more annoyed as time went on. If I'm paying for extra designs/chrome/etc, why be annoyed? I'm not getting this extra work for free. So in the end she was not able to recreate what I wanted (she knew she wouldn't be able to but didn't tell me to start) and her attitude was there from the start. I do believe I was overcharged as well-only by $5 but I looked at their menu and website over and over and did my math and even in person asked her to go over and she told me acrylic was $50 but online it is full set for $45. I was over being there so i didn't argue about it. The woman who did my pedicure was nice though.

I came in for a repair on a shellac pedicure I just got less than a week ago--my polish came off on my pinky toe and my big toenail broke. I even made an appointment ahead of time since I had somewhere else to be. When I got there, I had to explain everything to the front desk, who then had to call Judy to explain why I was there and then I had to explain to Judy why I shouldn't be charged for something that shouldn't have happened in the first place. They tried to charge me $6 and argued about it before finally fixing it. Now I'm running late to my next appointment over something that should've been quick and easy. And this isn't the first time Judy has acted like this. I wouldn't come to Avalon Nails at all if it wasn't for Amber. Just be aware.

I wanted a natural base with the polish I picked out but I was asked so many questions that felt like they were directing me to choose a white background. Fine. But when she put POLY GEL on my nails instead of builder gel, my mind was blown. These are 2 completely different products. I let it go bc again, I wanted to relax before vacation. My pedicure was okay. Before she even put the top coat on, I could see a missed spot on my toes bc there was no dry time between coats. Fresh "builder gel" set and pedicure with tip came out to ~$130. I only returned a second time out of sheer curiosity bc I wanted to see how they would do a BUILDER GEL refill on a POLY GEL set. But they used poly gel again. I wanted this simple line work design. Idk how much they charged bc I wasn't told and their receipts are not itemized. There is also no pricing list / menu available to customers. A refill with the design and tip came out to $115. I cannot bring myself to come back to this salon. There's no confirmation of pricing, I asked for a specific service and received the wrong product. Everyone I've interacted with there is friendly and it's a pretty salon but there's a lack of transparency that I can't get on board with.

I originally visited because of their sanitary practices and standards which are that of a dentist office, superbly clean. What an experienced!! It was the most relaxing environment and kind technicians I've ever experienced. They are meticulous. Going slow to be mindful of your cuticles, scrubbing with a brand new foot pumice, using new files and buffer. They take their time when massaging. This is a spa experience, not a cattle call. When we moved in 2024 I continued to make the drive from Houston. This is my place! If you care about your nail health and getting the best service, look no further. Also, the salon is very clean and cute. They do not use pedicure spa chairs (which was part of a class action lawsuit) nor nasty plastic bags inside bowls. Instead everything is cleaned with hospital grade products. I would also like to point out that the person who posted all those pics of her nails and gave them zero stars, has nail damage NOT due to a manicure. That is an unhealthy nail and a manure cannot fix that. This is a salon that cares about your experience as much as your nails. I showed the nail technician a photo of red chrome nails with the middle two nails having red French tips, which would be my Valentine's Day nails. She told me she could do it. I even left the photo up on my phone for some time so that she can reference it, if needed. As I saw her painting the red French tips, I informed her that they were a different shade of red from the other nails. She showed me the two products (gel and powder) and that they are the same shade number. I proceeded to let her finish as I thought that the end results may be different. It was not. She then added the "chrome" finish. I told her that it wasn't shiny at all nor looked like chrome and had a pearlescent finish instead. She told me that it was very popular with clients. She absolutely disregarded what I was saying to her. She also cut my skin while running the drill alongside my cuticles. At this point, the manager entered the conversation. I showed him the picture and he told me that the photos found online for inspiration "all have filters on them." He pretty much sided with the technician and saw no wrong. They both then told me to go wash my hands and see how the nails look in the sun. I did so and saw no difference from when I was seated at my chair. I was baffled that the manager could not see what was wrong. He did not offer to rectify the situation. I even asked for another type of coat that would make my nails shiny. They could not offer that to me for whatever reason. I clearly walked out with hideous nails.
