Took my boyfriend to Triple Taproom last Friday evening for dinner and some fish fry! The last time I went to Triple Taproom it was called "Haciendas" before! It wasn't too busy so we were able to get some booth seats- we had some brisket rolls and elote corn for appetizers and they were sooo good, the rolls had a nice spice to them! I got their Friday fish fry while my boyfriend got the jalapeño popper burger and we loved our entrees! The battering of the fish fry is def one of my favorites in the area, and my bf loved their burger! My bf (a beer lover) said this place has been one of his favorite breweries he's been to in the MKE area! I had the Wisconsinitis while my boyfriend got their barley beer Deeply Rooted and he was looooved the barley beer! First time here. Came over after see a movie at the Oriental. Got here around 5:00 on a Saturday night. The place was about half full. They have a couple of different areas, and the one towards the back had a private event (birthday party). To me it feels more like the name, a Taproom with a Kitchen. It has a good selection of adult beverages and a small, but decent selection of food. The menus are all online, and you go to the bar to order (they have servers to bring you the food). Got a round of drinks (Sangria, Marguaritas, and Old Fashioned). They were all good. For food, we started with an order of the Cheese Curds. They came out hot, with the chili honey sauce drizzled on top, with a side of ranch. They were good, but could have benefited from being cooked longer (some were soggy or cheese not melted). For our dinners, we ordered the Shrimp tacos, Brisket tacos, Veggie Quesadilla, and the Hamburger. Everybody was satisfied, but nobody was all that excited. My Shrimp tacos were just okay. The flour tortillas tops were hard and the lower parts soft (as if they might have been sitting under a heat lamp. The pico de gallo was okay, but it had jalapenos, and I didn't think to ask. (But easy enough to pick out). The whole plate seemed a little thrown together. The burger was the best of the entrees that we ordered. For service, you need to go up and order. It took a while to get someone's attention, but in taking the order, they were friendly and helpful. The food took a reasonable amount of time, but during the meal nobody stopped back to ask how things are. Maybe because we didn't have an actual "server" we were left on our own. Finally tried this place after my favorite brewery moved to town- 3 sheep's! Wish I came sooner, since the food is super good. We had the mushroom cheesesteak and nachos with brisket and they were both super tasty and filling. You order food at the bar with the bartender and get a number, food is brought to you. Simple and easy. Obviously love the beer selection! Hard to be upset with that since the options are nearly endless (3 breweries on tap!). The decor is super cute, too, I thought I took a picture of the bathroom wall but I guess I didn't. It's really incredible. I love the attention to details. These 2019 reviews need an update! Hacienda has recently changed their food program and it's time for another visit! Popped in here before a Milwaukee Film Fest showing and it wasn't hard to get seated immediately (yay!). My dining partner and I went with a Papas Bravas appetizer that was good, and tacos. I got the Brisket tacos and I mean, the meat looked and tasted incredible, and you don't need to put them into a taco but I did. The pickled veggies a nice touch. My friend got the salmon tacos and that salmon could be its own non-taco entree- it looked amazing! Top it off with a great Hacienda beer and you're all set. The atmosphere is great, just what I needed on a movie date night. The food was both delicious, and not so delicious. I was oscillating between their pork belly tacos and burger and landed on the tacos. Hubby was nice enough to get the burger instead Burger- awesome!!! It was one of the best burgers I've had from around Milwaukee. I'm not sure whether it was the green sauce or what not, but it just had the perfect amount of seasoning and the je ne sais quoi for it to be one of my favorites all around. I think I ate like half of my husband's meal. Oh, and the sweet potato fries that comes with the burger was also out of this world delicious. Draft beer that Hubby got were all good but they were eight dollars a glass. Pork belly tacos - I love how they presented it. It is a build your own kind of taco where they put all the ingredients on the plate and you make your own tacos as you go. The three slices of pork bellies were humongous. The only problem with such humongous pieces is that when you put them in a taco, they were not tender enough to be bitten off cleanly, so if you're not careful, you would be biting into a bite of taco and getting all the meat in your mouth. Hubby had that problem. I didn't, since I'm on keto, and this is a perfect set up for me, so I could just eat the meats like steak with the veggies and skip the tortilla altogether... but overall I was not too wowed with the taste of the pork bellies nor with the salsa that came under the pork bellies. It wasn't quite pico de gallo and not quite hot salsa. I wish it had been one or the other. Would I order this again? Definitely the burger, not the tacos. I was a little surprised because the restaurant being "Hacienda" I thought their Mexican fare would actually be better. As a side point, our server was Alex and he was very nice and did everything just right. The vibe/ambiance is super cool (not going to lie I took a picture of the wallpaper in the bathroom for inspiration for my own home). Our server was super friendly and attentive. I've visited this place several times before, but this trip stood out as my favorite. It was my first time trying their margaritas, and they were absolutely delicious. My friend and I both ordered jalapeno margaritas, and they did not disappoint. Despite arriving close to closing time, the staff didn't rush us, which we appreciated. He took his time walking us through the menu and pointed out some of his favorites, which ended up being delicious. WHAT I GOT: - brisket burger with sweet potato fries and chipotle ketchup: this was divine, a scrumptious meld of savory flavors. The cheddar crisp added a nice contrast in texture compared to the tenderness of the meat. I experimented with dipping the burger in the chipotle ketchup, and was pleasantly satisfied with my creation. The chipotle ketchup is SO GOOD. And the fries were cooked to perfection - crispy, not soggy, not overly oily. Minor critique: meat was not the star of the show, and I feel like it should've been. We stopped into Hacienda right about last call and sat at the bar. We got some drinks to try out their beers and were definitely not disappointed. One of us also got a cocktail and that too was great. None of it blew our minds, but the drinks were good. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the food. Next time. The inside is very nice, and kinda a mix of modern and retro. Fun and comfortable. And big enough for a good size group if you needed to. The stand out, however, was the bartender. If you're looking for the trendiest brewery in Milwaukee, this is your joint. They offer a super cute ambiance with their live plants and beautiful interior design. Would be the cutest place to grab drinks for a date night. We ordered some food, honestly the queso fundido was not our cup of tea. We felt the meat didn't really taste like chorizo and the cheese wasn't quite what you'd expect for queso. We didn't eat much and our server was inquisitive and seemed to genuinely care if it was up to our expectations, my friend who ordered did not give feedback. So I would say that I was impressed by the way our server handled the situation as they seem to really care that you enjoy the food that they are serving. I had the papas bravas and they were very good, I enjoyed the sauce and the cilantro was a nice addition. This is def the kind of place I will be coming to enjoy the delicious beer and grabbing dinner elsewhere just due to the cost of the menu for the quality/quantity of food. Great ambiance. They were pretty short staffed on a Friday but we had no problem waiting... most places are right now. My fiancé got their beermosa which had one of their pale ale beers and it was really good. I got the pineapple Paloma and loved it. The tables are reallyyy small... we could barely fit our two drinks and two plates. We didn't know the tacos didn't come already made and we had no room for a small plate to make the tacos. I also had to still cut the corn off the cob. It wasn't as easy as just being able to eat it. I think it was just more work with not a lot of space and we weren't anticipating it. Okay it's cute af looking from the outside but like the inside is even cuter. It's always hustle and bustle from the outside and I've always been a little like oooo should I go it looks busy etc but actually it's not that bad at all. Super cute retro aesthetics. Service is amazing and they were able to accommodate a party of 10 for a last min celebration. I really appreciated it. It's been over a year since I've had the food at Hacienda, but I can say that the beer selection is solid! The menu has changed since I ate there, but what we had was good. During fall and early winter we've been enjoying the outdoor patio with heaters and in the summer they had a "to-go" window that you could order from and then enjoy on the patio. Pretty convenient! Several visits later Hacienda has now become one of my favorite spots to go to and try new brews. Amazing to see what the Hacienda team has done with a once dilapidated space transforming it into a more vibrant and useful scene that features some serious craft brews. When I first started popping in this place it was the summer of 2019 and Hacienda was the new kid on the block for the crossroads area of the Eastside. It seemed like a big secret what was going on inside the old BBC building and for good reason. Talk about flipping! This place was completely flipped and now boom, you have Hacienda. A few months later Hacienda finds itself still around brewing and serving up the goods. For that I am thankful because it is yet another place to go to and relax while sipping on the brews. Since fall/winter has rolled in they have crafted up a few more dark beers one of which is the "A Means to an End" or the "Velvet Bulldozer" and they are all that! Such clever names for all the beers too! Hacienda's selection of IPA's is noteworthy and worth taking the plunge for. As for the food, I haven't tried the brunch yet, but what I've had so far has been solid. I think they are still working on that piece, so I'll give them a little more time to figure it out on the food front. What really takes me away about this place on top of the good beer is the space. It's just a breath of fresh air and during the summer months, you can enjoy the outdoors or the inside with giant bay windows that open out, bar side. Another business that I've been to so many times but never reviewed. I've been coming here since they opened. The tap room is unlike anything I've ever seen for a brewery tap room. Very beautiful with plants, lots of beautiful wood work for the beer list and a funky layout. As far as I know, the beers are brewed in Door County and brought down here which probably frees up a lot of space inside. Right now, because of Covid, it is only only patio seating but it works with the nice parklet. During the summer, I only long for more umbrella coverage inside of simply tables. It gets hot out here. Eight friends and I made an after-work sojourn to HCB to try their flights and just about everyone enjoyed them. A few people, including me, had some beers that were on the bitter side. I'm not a fan of IPAs at all so when I was offered a taste of one that I was not told was an IPA I said it tasted like liquid Play-Doh. I was joking -- everyone else liked the taste, they are IPA fans. They were messing with me on purpose. Anyway, I thought the place was very nice, and they even had a vegan food item on the menu. The hubby and I stopped in Hacienda on date night, as we has both been dying to try it! We've heard great things, and now having been can certainly agree. This new taproom is located on the Eastside and features beers on drafts, in bottles, and to-go cans. They also have a full kitchen open for lunch and dinner. My initial thought upon walking in is how awesome the decor is! It's a retro vibe with teals and burnt orange colors all over. They have a cool winding booth layout, plenty of table and bar seating, and an area that is clearly converted into a stage when live entertainment comes in. We sat at the bar to enjoy a few beers from their tap. I had the Motel Citroen (a wheat beer with lime and lemon zest to it), and my husband got the Cozy Boi smoked porter. We were both pleased by the beers and the service - we love a friendly staff! The beers on tap rotate as well with many flavors to pick from! Visited here a few weeks ago. I had walked by when it was still under construction--still re-outfitting the old BBC space. I had been to BBC a few times when it was still open and the difference is, well, like night and day. Hacienda's space is airy and clean and not dive-y at all. I tried several different beers, including the Luxe Reduxe coffee stout. I'm an IPA fan and they have a few of those as well. That day I had already eaten so I didn't try the food. It looks fairly promising, if a bit pricy for bar food. I was there on a weekday afternoon (I was off work) so there wasn't a big crowd when I initially walked in, but the chairs filled up as the afternoon went along. I could see them getting pretty big crowds. But there's a lot of standing space even if all the seats are taken. Hacienda is a good addition to the neighborhood and has made good use of their space. Gone is the dark and dingy of BBC from my college days and now it's light and airy. I love how they have modernized the interior. The beer list is heavy on IPAs and when we were there they were out of several of them. If you are not into IPAs the other options were a Milk Stout and a Pilsner. The rest of the drink selection is very limited to Mexican Coke and Jarritos. The beers we tried were just ok; nothing to write home about. The food menu is pretty limited as well with some appetizers, salads and sandwiches. The description of the items sounded promising, but execution was not so great. First it took over a half an hour to get our two sandwiches. We ordered the BLT and Chicken sandwiches. The BLT had a heavy dough fried tomato that covered just part of the sandwich, couple of thin pieces of bacon, wilted spring mix lettuce and a little bit of aioli. The sandwich was super dry and very hard to eat as the bread was rock hard from being toasted. The chicken sandwich has this black garlic bbq sauce that is just too sweet. It's nice to see the North Avenue area being revitalized. Hacienda has a lot of potential and a great location. read more

Hacienda Beer Co. is a beautiful new spot on the East Side. It's great to see how the building has been transformed from the old BBC space - the new digs are all exposed brick, greenery, beautiful lighting, and light wood. Milwaukee is the city of beer, and Hacienda is a good addition to the East Side revival. The tap list is short for now, but the beers we tried were pleasant and the ability to take four packs to-go is always nice. A cool little feature - salsa lessons were happening on the stage, open for patrons to join. We arrived on a Saturday evening around 8PM, hoping to order some food. Unfortunately, while we were perusing the delicious-looking menu options and deciding what we wanted, an employee came around and let us know they were no longer serving food. It sounded like the kitchen had been overwhelmed all day - which is fair as they've only been open for two weeks - however this made us stay a shorter period of time than we would have liked to. We were hungry and a little disappointed. The beers were good, including mostly hazy/hoppy options and one stout. They were all pretty similar, but this wasn't necessarily a bad thing. The customer service was a-okay. The wait at the bar was long, but again, this is just the second Saturday they've been open so I'm sure they're still working out the kinks. I hope to return to Hacienda Beer Co. to check out their food options. It's a beautiful space and another good addition to the Milwaukee beer scene. read more

Loved this new east side restaurant! It is beautifully decorated/remodeled and has such a nice ambiance. On a nice day, you'll find the garage doors open to North Ave. We enjoyed their tostadas, peach salad, burger and cheese curds. Don't be fooled by the name though, these aren't your classic curds, they are melted and baked in a cast iron skillet- still tasty though! While I'm not a beer drinker myself, everyone else at the table loved their Hacienda Brews. All in all, absolutely worth a stop! read more

Just braved icy conditions to make our second visit to Hacienda. I'm definitely a fan. The place is cool - really nice open atmosphere. Still hard to believe it's the old BBC. I'd consider myself a light beer snob, so I'm a tough critic on breweries. Hacienda has an overall really good lineup. I got small pours of Tropi-Choco, an orange chocolate milk stout, and A Means to an End, a stout with Mexico-inspired flavors including peppers. Both were perfect with brunch. My wife had the Hangover Fries (no, we weren't hungover) and I had the El Camino Bocadillo sandwich. Capped it off with a cortado coffee. Hacienda is in that exclusive company that has great beer and equally great food. Staff was attentive and friendly. Excellent experience all around. read more
