Dragon fruit sour and free pretzels
Vickie H.

I can't believe this amazing brewery is in my neighborhood!! It's a small bar located in the alley. My fiancé and I both got the dragon fruit sour for a pint (about $6.50) -- it has been a favorite apparently! I also tried their Pilsner which was a bit too grassy for me. I usually am not a fan of sours, but I thoroughly enjoyed the dragon fruit sour. We were able to try some samples too when figuring out what to get for our next brew. The guys running the brewery were super friendly. There's seating indoors and outdoors. They also leave free bags of pretzels to snack with your beer. If you're hungry, there's also a food truck across the street. I would definitely come here again for the ambiance, the friendly service, and great beers!!

This place wasn't quite what I expected. It has little bites like hot dogs and chip bags for sale. The beer selection is hand-curated, which is great, but I was a bit bummed to see only one Triple R original on the list. I asked the man behind the bar if that was the norm and he confirmed. It seems this place is a pub that also occasionally has original beers on tap. Set your expectations accordingly. The atmosphere was awesome-- REAL dart boards, a big TV and mismatched furniture. I'm on board The original ale I had was also very tasty (albeit quite strong).

Friendly staff and nice TVs to catch the big game.

Limited in-house beers (but, they are always excellent) with a rotating menu of well-curated craft beers. Dog, but not kid friendly.

All the…read moreoutdoor tables were full when we arrived at 6, so we put our name on the list for inside and waited about 30 minutes. The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

They are kid and dog-friendly, too. We ordered an NA IPA (which they have on tap!) and their hop water (comes in a can). Both beverages were absolutely delicious. I love that this place is NA-friendly. They offer some light snacks and free pretzels, which is awesome for a brewery without a kitchen. There is a food truck on site, but it was closed when we visited. No worries, though, you can bring outside food, which is perfect since there are plenty of great restaurants in the area. I asked the bartender if they brew at this location, and he said they've moved all brewing to a different location in Seattle, but it's still super fresh and tasty beer all around. This is a spot worth visiting in Seattle or getting together with a large group for a few drinks. Plenty of choices for everyone!

Ambiance - I really like all the different seating areas they have. And also very dog friendly. We sat inside in the bleacher/stadium kind of area which is kind of cute. There's also a fireplace with bench seating surrounding it. Plenty of picnic tables and smaller tables. Also a huge outdoor seating area with some cover.

My husband's non alcoholic raspberry Italian soda was the real winner! It was the best I've ever tasted. Outside food is welcomed, no kitchen here. There are games, for those who are interested. Music also plays overhead. Lots of space and grace to hang out here. This is just what Cap Hill kisses First Hill needed. It should be on your Saturday hang out must do list! Large space that has lots of seating for groups of all sizes from retirement parties, birthday parties to mah jong matches. Prior to this space being a brewery, this used to be an auto repair shop i think. The outdoor courtyard sort of seating with Large garage door is a nod to that past. Even thought they dont sport any food options of their own, Plenty of Clouds szechuan has their food truck permanently parked in this area to offer food service. However, other food trucks rotate on the street for more food options in addition to the many restaurants in the Pike/Pine corridor. Outside is welcome here! For those of you looking for a place to plug in and get some laptop work done, there are a few scattered power outlets but are hard to come by. Great friendly neighborhood gathering point!
