Stopped by Triple Pepper on my way back to the office for a quick lunch, and I'm so glad I did. It was my first visit, and even before the food hit the table, I was impressed. I originally ordered my meal to-go, but when I arrived, I realized I did not want to attempt eating this in my car (you know that moment ). The host was incredibly welcoming and graciously switched me to dine-in without hesitation. That kind of hospitality always sets the tone. I ordered the spicy cucumber salad and the salt & pepper shrimp. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The only surprise? The "spicy" cucumber salad wasn't spicy at all...more refreshing than fiery. If you love heat, you may want to ask for an extra kick. Now let's talk about the salt & pepper shrimp...perfection. Crispy, beautifully seasoned, and cooked just right with that ideal balance of salt and pepper. Simple done exceptionally well. Crab puffs were good. I ordered the General Tso chicken. Very good! Friend got sweet and sour chicken. And we both opted for the fried rice. Service was great. Very friendly. JUST PLAIN OLD BAD SERVICE! We frequented the former Chinese restaurant at this same location often........we're looking forward to trying the rebrand with a menu that appeared more authentic with items found mostly in Asia Town restaurants. Walked in on a Thursday evening and noticed right away the high number of dirty tables that had not been bussed..........not a good sign. Seated after several minutes of waiting at the hostess stand because no hostess was present for a while. The obvious theme here is short staffed in a moderately busy dinner hour. Once seated, no waitress until 7-10 minutes. She came apologized, took drink order and promised complimentary edamame was on the way. We waited and waited observing more parties dribbling in and being seated. 10 more minutes, no edamame and no waitress. Finally I saw the waitress taking an order from a table that had come in well after we did. DONE! We got up and walked out. Went next door to NONA'S, that always has outstanding service and food. I don't beg businesses to take my money............as much as we love Chinese food, I'd just assume drive an hour into Asia Town where "dives" offer outstanding food and service. read more

Definitely a step up from our visit a year ago. The spicy crispy chicken had good flavor and the soup dumplings albeit kind of expensive (clocking in at over $2 each dumpling) were juicy. The Sichuan Cold Jelly Noodles came out warm which caught me by surprise as they're usually the exact opposite and served cold or room temp at most. It just didn't quite taste the same being warm. And the red hue of the sauce was light. The Crab Rangoon came out disappointingly flat in a triangle rather than in the traditional flower shape as shown in the menu. It's how I would make it because I'm not good at folding wonton wrappers. The meat and sauce in the Dan Dan Noodles came out paler than I usually see at other restaurants and even the last time I ate it here. After mixing it the color turned a little browner though. The pork elbow came out a little tough but I suppose it was pretty good overall. The complementary edamame at the beginning of the meal is still a nice touch. I'm glad that I visited and will definitely be back. I went alone and chose a bar seat and everything was great. They start you out with edamame as soon as you sit down and they were pretty good. I then chose to order an alcoholic beverage and it was beautiful and delicious. I chose the spicy dumplings for my appetizer and those flavors were great. For my main dish I had one the lamb dishes and when I tell you it was enough food to share. I mean it. With that being said I didn't finish my meal. They packed it up for me and had great take away bags. The restaurant was clean and the vibe was very chill with nice music selections. They were always attentive and made suggestions that served me well. I will definitely be back with my family on my next visit, but if i ever want to slip away to enjoy some light appetizers and a drink this will be my place. read more

Our trip to Tripple Pepper was nice. The parking lot looked full however there was plenty of seating in the restaurant. My guess is there were more people at a neighboring restaurant. Tripple Pepper was a nice quiet spot for the night but left a lot to be desired. The menus we were given were definitely different with the two we were handed. One menu had an additional item listed with a label (crazy chicken is what I believe the added dish was.) We were given some yummy edamame when were seated. I was impressed by the sauce and flavor of these which is the reason the star count is high. These were yummm!!! I liked that they had the dumplings in a mixed order so that were able to try all of those offerings. Our favorite dumplings were the beef and the vegetable dumplings. The chicken was not good to us at all. The flavor of the chicken dumpling just did not taste as well as the other ones. The beef and vegetable dumplings are another reason for the high star count. We ordered the Triple Pepper Beef and it was OVER TAKEN by PEPPERCORNS. We could no longer taste our food at that point. If you have ever had peppercorns, you know what I mean. Next the Spicy Crispy Chicken is most definitely crispy. No complaint on that. But this dish also had those peppercorns and after trying the beef we were not able to taste the flavor of it. This place LOVES PEPPERCORNS!!!! If you zoom in on the pictures you'd most definitely see them. Our waitress is another reason for the high star count. She was great! Answered any questions we had and made sure to check on us throughout the night. For the price we paid for this meal, we most definitely could have had better food. Triple Pepper has a great ambiance. Food is good but I expected more. Flavors are good, but I wouldn't consider it memorable. We went there in June and they were having a soft opening. It was confusing as to who was our waiter/waitress, so at some point we were having a hard time getting anyone to bring us a refill. We were also missing utensils/chopsticks for one and we all had our plate but one person in our table was missing utensils. I ended up getting them myself, which was annoying for the staff I am sure. I hope by now those details have been fixed, but I don't think I would go back mainly because I don't thunk the food was that great. read more

I visited here during their grand opening and it was pretty busy. Their menu indicated it was only a temporary one and the prices were not discounted. Maybe they just forgot to remove their "Grand Opening" sign. I sat at the bar since I was dining alone. They have 3 menus, one for snacks, one for drinks, and one for dinner. I noticed they had a wide mix of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, spanning across several Asian countries like China, Korea and Japan. For food, they have a wide variety of Szechuan dishes. One section of the menu is called Main Dishes, but these do not seem to be large dishes, more like Misc. dishes since most are fried rice. I came in for boiled fish mainly. I also added the dumplings in chilli oil appetizer. Dumplings - these are not really spicy at all. It comes with a few bok choy, ground beef crumbles, several dumplings, and loads of chilli oil. Boiled fish - this was a great version of boiled fish which is one of my fav Szechuan dishes. Immediately I noticed the fish tasted different than the other restaurants in town where I order this dish. I asked and the server indicated the fish was a black fish. It has skin on the sides of the fish chunks which was another clue they were doing something different. About 10 mins later I asked a gentleman who appeared to be the manager what type of fish they used and he said it was a type of seabass. While they did have a full bar, I did not see any cocktail menu per se. They might want to add this in the future. This restaurant has 3 other locations currently, and all have pretty high ratings so that is further proof they are doing a lot of things right. read more

The service was great, the server explained the menu and was prompt with water and even brought us some dipping sauces unprompted just for us to try. We ordered the soup dumplings(6), which were tasty. They were the right temperature- not scalding but warm. The vinegary ginger sauce paired really well with the dumplings. We also ordered the crispy spicy chicken. Light on the numbing and heavier with the spice, it is one of my favorite spicy chickens from a Szechuan place. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the dumplings were piping hot. We started with spring rolls and soup dumplings--both delicious, though the rolls came out piping hot. Should've posted this last week, but it's been a busy week. We found Triple Pepper through our foodie groups. They had just opened the day before for their soft opening. Love the look of the new place, much brighter than what was there before. Since we were one of a few tables there, the owners and employees had more time to describe dishes and modify orders where needed. My wife can not do hot, so they changed up hers to accommodate. First, they brought us some complimentary edamame. Then they took our orders. We started with scallion pancakes and pan-fried dumplings. The pancakes were tasty, could've been a bit crispier, and the sauce was very nice. The dumplings were great. A couple were a bit over fried, but it is the soft opening. Have to get the equipment figured out for correct heating. My wife had the three pepper beef which they took the heat out of. I had a couple of bites. It had a great flavor and definitely a good portion. I had the three pepper chicken. I love hot, so I told them no modification to mine. I didn't think about it having schezwan peppercorns in it which is not a good taste to me so I have to remind myself to tell them next time to leave them out, but that's on me. They also bring out the steamed rice in a bamboo container with a metal insert. Nice for keeping it warm. All in all, it was a good experience. They had a couple of stumbles but gotta give them the benefit of the doubt and work the kinks out. We will definitely be back. read more

I'm not sure where all the reviews come from, but I was quite disappointed. Firstly, the staff was very nice. However, the food was not. I am a huge fan of la zi chi, which is a dry, fried chicken dish with Sichuan pepper corns and other chili peppers. It is also call Chongquing chicken or three-pepper chicken. I can only describe what I got as shoe-sole chicken... stale, tough, chewy... Then, there was the Yangzhou fried rice. The menu describes ham as being one of the ingredients... yeah, no. It was Spam-like cubes. I was in town for a conference and was excited by the reviews. Alas, I would have been better off with fast food. Please live up to your reviews, Triple Pepper. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but after what happened, I feel it's important to share our experience so others are aware. My fiancée worked here as a hostess. She was dependable, showed up on time, treated guests kindly, and did exactly what was expected of her. There were no major complaints about her performance, no ongoing issues, and no clear warnings that her job was in danger. Everything changed after management became aware that she was pregnant. Shortly after that, her treatment at work shifted, and not long later she was terminated. No clear or legitimate reason was given that aligned with her work history or performance as a hostess. The timing alone raised serious concerns. Being fired during pregnancy is incredibly stressful and emotionally overwhelming, especially when the job involved hosting and greeting guests -- not anything unsafe or unreasonable to accommodate. Pregnancy is a protected condition under the law, and employees should not feel punished or pushed out for starting a family. This situation caused unnecessary financial and emotional strain during what should have been a happy time in our lives. A workplace should support its employees, not discard them when their personal circumstances change. I hope management reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future. No one deserves to feel disposable, especially during pregnancy. I'm sharing this so others can make an informed decision before working here or supporting this business. Tried it out over the weekend. Ordered a pork, a fish and a noodle dish. All three were not good. Noodles were very runny and pork was fried to a crisp, the fried fish was the best part, a 6/10. Most of the entrees come on fillers so it looks like more when it isn't much to eat. The cost is way too high for the amount of food and the taste- average cost is $25 a dish. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, my girls said the women's bathroom was gross. This is a hard pass, don't come here expecting good Chinese food. I don't think they will be in business long. The food and service were great. Not your typical "Chinese" place. A place to try new Chinese dishes you have not seen elsewhere. I'd just change the type of music to something more neutral because they had some rap or trap style and didn't really match the ambiance. read more

I already wrote a review about my experience at Triple Pepper, the Woodlands. I'll repeat what I said before. They do not serve the meals at the same time to the table. One person will get theirs while the other person or persons have to wait to receive theirs. Totally unacceptable. I spoke with the person in charge about it at the time, and he "apologized". Another complaint I mentioned to him was that they don't offer you a cup of soup. You get a bowl, which, after a couple of cups, remainder I brought home in a take out QUART CONTAINER. There was actually more than a quart leftover, but they didn't give me the rest. And I had to pay $12 for the soup I have not been back and don't intend to. The restaurant replied to my previous review and apologized and said they will consider my concerns in making for a better experience. read more
