I got a signature facial here. It consisted of a sequence of application of products. I didn't get a serious face massage which is the skill that makes a facial worth it. When Kathy said I had the wrong place I thought oh well I'm gonna make an appointment anyways. Best decision of my life! I set up a 90 min and hoping for the best. Before coming here my back was a mess. Stiff shoulders, lower and mid back pain. Not to mention my tendinitis. This place has such a cute vintage feel to it..which I love. It's cozy, warm, and inviting. I got there a little early. I was greeted right away. Talking to Megan was like meeting an old friend, but for the first time. She I addressed all my issues before going into the room. What I loved most is she used this technique called neural muscular something...something... anyways, she got started on all my problem areas first. I have gotten a lot of massages, and I mean A LOT. But Megan over here, massaged areas I didn't even know hurt! I let her know if it got too much for me and she immediately adjusted the pressure. A few times I felt myself drifting off. And I am not the type to fall asleep during a massage. The only thing that I absolutely hated about the massage was that it ended. Laural & Macaylan did an outstanding job with the group, including the great work on these tired muscles. I was impressed with the girls asking me what I do for exercise (free weights) and performed great work to make sure I walked away feeling the pain in a great way, helping me feel wonderful when it was over. Been coming here for my prenatal massages for the last several months. TrioSpa has trustworthy professionals and you can tell their staff is experienced. My regular masseuse knows the problem areas that occur during the 2nd and 3rd trimester and takes time to be gentle as well, since my bones and joints have been shifting slowly in preparation for labor and delivery. Tried out a couple of other places and although they advertised that their masseuses knew how to give prenatal massages, it was obvious they didn't. Booking is very easy as well. It has been a little more than 24 hrs, and my back has not given me any problems. I am a little sore, but that's all from the pressure which I asked for. My pressure was Firm , but during massage I asked for the Medium pressure. Boyfriend also went with with me, we had couples massage. He was experiencing some back problems as well. I love TrioSpa! The summer before my freshman year at Santa Clara University, I wanted to find a place close to campus where I could get my upper lip waxed. Once I found TrioSpa, I contacted Kathy and made my first appointment soon thereafter. She responded quickly and offered me several different days and times that could fit around my classes at SCU. My first wax was a great experience. Kathy uses hard wax which she removes quickly and with precision. She made sure that every hair was cleanly removed. I really appreciated her attention to detail, especially because the hair on my upper lip is thicker and more difficult to remove. Kathy was very friendly and kind during the wax. This experience is what made me decide to go to TrioSpa on a regular basis. To this day, I go to Kathy to get waxed. I have eczema on my face which has broken out after I've gotten my lip waxed at other businesses. However, no such thing occurs at TrioSpa. 5 stars for sure! read more

I have scheduled a few facials with Sarah and she is honestly the bees knees. Wish I could see her weekly if my beauty budget allowed for it. Only minus a star because the parking isn't ideal and I recall my first appointment was rather confusing on where to go/who to check in with, but after that initial awkwardness it's been nothing but fabulous! Also, I have had Miriam/Mimi as my massage therapist for 5 or 6 years now and she really is the most knowledgeable and talented MTs I've ever discovered. I had my first ever massage today here, and I booked a couples massage as a surprise for my boyfriend and I's anniversary. Scheduling was a breeze! Very accommodating and straightforward :) As for the massage itself, I had Brittany Roberts and she was the sweetest! I guess it was pretty obvious we were newbies at massages, but that was okay because they walked us through the options they had. Brittany R. was also really great because she asked whether or not I wanted more/less pressure whenever it seemed like I looked uncomfortable or if she moved to a different part of my body. My boyfriend had Mirium, and he said he had a great experience as well. He felt really relaxed and refreshed afterwards. His only critique was that when he said a certain part hurt, she would no longer focus on that area instead of using less pressure. So, he felt reluctant to say he wanted less pressure because of that. Overall, I would definitely come back and recommend friends to come. Welllll there's a reason that this place gets stellar reviews. I went in on Sun for a 90 min Swedish massage, I'm kind of a baby---I was having back pain but didn't want the deep tissue b/c I was so scared. Jenny was my masseuse and she was amazing. she was not overly talkative (like my last two massages---it's my own fault though, I think I act too friendly). she kept asking if the pressure was ok and was accomodating of my requests I like how they ask you to point out your "problem areas" on the form beforehand and specify what kind of pressure you would like. Jenny was also sweet and answered the multitude of questions I had about being a massage therapist--something I've always been curious about. my back pain is completely gone and a lot of my joints and tense areas feel sooo much better (wrists, ankles, shoulder, etc.). the facility itself smelled nice and was well-kept. they also don't push you to write a positive Yelp review (unlike another un-named place) so these are all genuine reviews! this is also what I needed after a long week---I'll definitely be coming back soon! read more

I went here with my boyfriend for a couples massage birthday gift a few weeks back. The place is very warm and friendly and located upstairs. We were greeted and asked to fill out a piece of paper that informed the masseuse what our targeted areas were to be. My boyfriend liked massages that were more on the firm side, where as I liked mine on the medium side. We were paired up with two woman who matched each one of us perfectly! I personally do not enjoy my time when a masseuse rubs me the wrong way-too hard. I like my massage to be enjoyable with the pressure. The lady who conducted my massage was so nice! She told me prior to the massage to let her know if she could do anything to make my experience more enjoyable! She hit every spot with a gentle touch and kept my bed warm just how I liked it. I have been to two other spas-santana row and happy feet in Cupertino. I would say that this place is more enjoyable than those places and a decent price! I would defiantly go there again!! I really wanted to like this place but, as another reviewer had said, the masseuses failed to treat the targeted areas I had pointed out. The couple's massage that my boyfriend and I received felt a tad rushed in some areas, especially at the end where the masseuses targeted the hands, toes, legs and arms. My main concern that I had mentioned to them was my back, and they performed only one stroke that did not address the spots that were aching. For fifteen or twenty minutes, I was waiting for them to change strokes but it never happened. My back felt the same coming out as it did coming in. read more

Had my first experience at TrioSpa yesterday and was so happy! I booked last minute and managed to get an appt for that evening (thank you!). My massage therapist was Tina and she was incredible. She asked awesome questions about what I was looking for and how she could maximize the 90-min session. I recently began seeing a chiropractor and she offered tidbits of information she noticed about my alignment, arches, muscle tenseness that I could relay to my chiro at my next appt. I really wanted a deep, soothing sports/swedish massage and that is exactly what she delivered. Tina is great and I'm looking forward to my next appt! The location is humble and I actually liked that it's not a "spa" space with pretentious front desk staff. The room (studio #2) was warm and soothing with wonderful ambiance. I'm stoked to have found a place not too far from my house with wonderful staff and incredible service. Prices are definitely fair for the service received. Five Stars!! :-D read more

I admit, I didn't experience Triospa services first hand, but I had booked my hard-working husband a 90 minute massage with Ed, and my husband loved the massage. That's always a good sign! I had found a trubates deal (otherwise I would never had known about this place), and cross checked with Yelp to check its ratings. Based on the glowing reviews, I bought a voucher and called to make an appointment. I ended up leaving a voicemail and hoped they'd call me back soon. Someone did call the next day, and I was able to book an appointment for that Saturday. I always wanted to try Brazilian wax but was too chicken to try. The I finally told myself that I should do this now especially when Im pregnant and can't see anything down there. Big bonus * they had a coupon on yelp* Im the type that will spend money on good work especially if they are handling your treasure box and wax!!! 70.00 (without coupon) is a normal price. Actually some bigger places charge you up to 100.00. Kathy did such an amazing job to calm me down. She was also realistic about the pain. I built up this crazy idea that it would be so painful that i would run out of the office. In fact, Kathy explained what type of wax she was using and why. My massage therapist was Megan and she was fabulous. Megan was so thorough, thoughtful and helpful. She asked me questions that helped isolate where my tensions were and how to work through them. I shared with her that I had a bit of a tumble off of my bicycle and she illuminated that this may be the cause of my recent neck pain. I know it seems simple, but I hadn't considered the way in which I fell might have caused a kink in my neck! Megan really communicated with me, and helped work on my tight and rooted neck. She also did some active stretching which really opened things up. After the massage concluded, I felt a bit looser, but still was feeling some pain. Honestly I was worried it would require another massage, but the next morning I woke up and my neck felt 100% better!!! Prior to the massage it was painful to turn my neck side to side, but the next morning it felt completely restored. Megan really was my little massage angel, so thank you TrioSpa for bringing us together! I'll definitely be returning to Trio if I need to loosen up again. read more

I used to say that no one could do a Brazilian as well as Davis' European wax center BUT I finally found someone who compares!! Kathy was so sweet when I called to schedule an appointment. She was fully booked but managed to squeeze me in because it was my only day off and I was about to leave for a trip. I was hesitant about trying a new position (on your hands and knees) but Kathy gave me the choice after explaining that it was fast and effective. She made me feel comfortable and the process took no longer than 15 minutes. She also uses hard wax like European! OK this is another one of those places I really don't want to write a review about - kinda' want to keep it my secret. [Is that why I checked in on yelp and facebook and told the world?] Yeah it was that good. Moving on...I was warmly greeted by Ed as I approached the office suite from the stairway. [It's one of many lovely Victorian homes that have been converted into a variety of businesses on the Alameda.] I walked into a clean and inviting, well-appointed, large room with soft lighting and a comfortable chair. The yelp rating was rising and we hadn't even started. There was a brief yet thorough and very professional yet friendly interview. Is that an oxymoron? Anyway, I filled out a non-intrusive medical form, including diagrams of the human body for me to mark any trigger areas, etc. After reading their mission statement, or a list of principles they adhere to with a purpose to make sure all clients are aware of their integrity as a business, Ed checked in once more re any questions. All in all, it was a relaxing, easy process. Next... A heated pad on the comfortable massage table was waiting and oh so welcomed; room temperature was perfect or... as Goldilocks would say - not too hot, not too cold; just right. AMAZING massage. Ed started out with gentle sweeping motions [I don't know if that is typical or based on our discussion when I arrived but no matter, it was exactly what my body needed. Ed's hands felt like hot stones generating enough heat to relax my muscles. I left feeling fabulous, relaxed and energized. I went on a Saturday and there was plenty of parking in front of the 'building.' My next visit will be to treat myself to a facial with Kathy. Then, of course, I'll plan my next massage with Ed. And maybe the time after that I'll go for a total pampering package and do a back to back massage and facial. Oh how decadent. read more

Sara/Sarah (sp?) was my esthetician and was wonderful. I arrived 10 minutes early to fill out the new customer paperwork. Sarah was very welcoming, nice and professional. I was a little skeptical at first with TrioSpa due to the look of some of the photos, but the reviews didn't lie. When I first arrived, I was unsure what to think. A building with a "For Lease" sign in the window and a single car in the parking lot. I continued to venture inside, as the website stated and proceed up stairs. It's an unfortunate setup where the floor has multiple tenants and Trio is only two of, I think, five rooms on the floor. Hopefully, someday they can have their own dedicated space. I was really happy with the experience I had with Tina. She was very nice, explained what she was going to do, and provided some good conversation. I found Kathy here on yelp and read all of the reviews and I do agree with each one of them when I had my own experienced with her. She's very calm and she takes her time through the whole facial. I came in and had tons of questions for her and we went over my appointment time, but she didn't rush through the facial and even end five minutes after. NICE touch. All the time I was there the atmosphere felt relax and tranquil. She has a very soft touch with very soft hands when needed and the right aggression when needed with the extractions. I bought a Trubate for TripSpa a while back and I've been coming here for my waxes ever since! Kathy is amazing at what she does, and considering I had never waxed anything on my body before, she was very patient and made me feel so comfortable. Or as comfortable as you can be while getting your hair ripped out. I've been really satisfied with the results and I would highly recommend coming to Kathy for any and all of your waxing needs. The best part about this experience is how at home I feel with Kathy. No really, I do. Every time I go in I feel like I'm visiting with an old friend. She always remembers what's going on in my life, and she always asks lots of questions while chatting away about her own family and life. I got a facial two weeks ago and had severe reaction around eye area. Esthetician didn't even ask what skin type or describe the reactions people can get or talked about what she is applying. I would be fine with no conversation about each other but talk more about what you're doing/describe each steps of the facial. Severe reaction went away after a week but everyone telling me that I now have really bad crow feet around eye area. I don't know how to reverse it now and can only regret about getting a facial done. Scared forever! I have done facials before and never had any side effects. Apparently, they're using strong products. I removed comment for expired products based on owners response to this review. After chatting with the business owner, she said Mimi did a 30% glycolic acid treatment. Mimi never mentioned about the possible side effects or after care. Why would someone apply that around the eye area? I was reading their 7 year old review which talks about no steam or massage after glycolic acid treatment. Well, I did get a massage and steam in addition to the acid. They do need training to not steam with acid and start with something light(10% glycolic acid) without knowing the side effects. It was a good place for me to go for body massage but now I am not feeling like going again due to one bad experience. read more

Loved it! My hubby got us a couples massage for our anniversary and I enjoyed every minute of it. Before we arrived we got a call from the masseurs to inform us that the power had gone out and asked us if we wanted to cancel, reschedule, or continue with our appointment as planned. As we assumed the lights would be out during our session anyway, we let them know that as long as they didn't mind that the power was out we would like to keep our session. KJ. and Tina were so awesome. They were very professional and nice. They took the time to find out if we had any "trouble areas" and took the time to walk my hubby through the process as this was his first massage. Ok, I just had a massage and here are my observations: 1. The building is an old house turned into a multi-business complex of which trio spa operates out of one of the old bedrooms. The place was small but you don't need much room for a massage. 2. If your looking for that tranquil spa atmosphere, probably not the best choice. 3. I had a 2 hour massage, the massage was good, no complaints. Worked and found all of the sore spots but didn't just dig her elbow into me the entire time. Overall if your looking for a massage and don't care about the "fluffy" stuff that comes with a true spa experience, this is a good choice. Neighborhood seemed safe too. read more

I have been to TrioSpa a couple of times for some much needed care and pampering. Each time I had my session with Juanita. The first time I went it, I had been gifted a massage. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was a massage and reiki combo. I'd never heard of reiki before but Juanita kindly walked me through everything and explained what she would be doing. I consider myself a logical person so I wasn't sure I'd experience anything but I had been gifted the experience so I figured I'd give it a go. My session was great and I felt incredibly relaxed at the end. I booked another session and since I enjoyed the reiki experience asked about that. It's a surreal experience but Juanita was great. She really seemed to target the areas I needed the most help with. At the end of my appointment, I left feeling much better than I had when I'd arrived. Everything is also super sanitary and proper precautions are taken. I felt really at ease with how seriously the spa is taking things even with reopening.
