Another 90-minute couples massage for me and my husband, this time at TrioSpa. Trio is located in downtown San Jose in a beautiful old house. There is only street parking available for customers. After completing intake forms, we were ushered into the largest couples massage room I've ever seen! Massages were good, but my husband did point out that his masseuse used gloves which I never encountered in all the years we've been getting massages. It was quiet and peaceful when we entered this older Victorian style building. We whispered so we didn't disturb the peace. The two ladies up front were friendly and smiling. One of my sister's Christmas gifts to me was an hour of "Synergy Bodywork." It was an overall relaxing session, but I will go into more detail on the practitioner's page. After my sister's massage, I saw her slowly bend and move like those inflatable dancing dolls with waving arms, lol. My sister-in-law was impressed how quickly her massage therapist pointed out which shoulder she slept on and the tension in her jaws. It was a little uncomfortable when it came to payment. The Synergy Bodywork service wasn't in their system, and I could feel the stress when the therapist looked for it and repeatedly said it's not there. She had to call the owner, then manually entered it. My sister is a very generous person, but she also prefers her kindness to be discreet, especially since it was a gift. So my jaw dropped when I heard the amount sitting on the couch across the counter. Even with the discount, it's overpriced. One of the massage therapists was very kind to pour us cold cups of water at the end. We appreciated that then floated out to lunch. read more

I wanted to wait a full 6 weeks before leaving a review to truly see if the lash lift and tint held up to the promised 6-8 weeks--and I'm happy to say it absolutely did! I was never interested in getting lash extensions before because of the upkeep (refills every 2-3 weeks) and the cost. But when Christine recommended a lash lift and tint instead--using my own natural lashes and lasting much longer--I was intrigued. It's essentially a perm for your lashes that curls and darkens them, making them look fuller and longer, like you're wearing mascara... and wow, was I thrilled with the results! Every morning I woke up looking awake, bright-eyed, and ready to go with zero effort. The results lasted about 6 weeks for me, and only started fading as my new lashes naturally grew in and the treated ones shed--totally expected and exactly what Christine explained. Overall, I highly recommend this treatment and would do it again in a heartbeat. I've been coming here for massages with Ryan. He is great and he really listens to your needs and can adjust the massage specifically to what issues you have throughout your body. Whether you need more pressure or less in certain areas, he's in tune with what your body needs to recover. The ambiance is nice and calming. I've always felt well taken care of here for my massages. I haven't had a chance to explore other services they offer. Parking is on the nearby streets for free just check signs for where it is free etc. No designated parking garage for this business that I know of. This place is not like the usual massage places I have been to! I have never been to any massage place in the USA, the massage places in Taiwan are all in a single building or at least whole floor, so I am quite surprised to see a only two rooms massage place! As other fellow yelpers mentioned in their review, first of all, there's no sign on the outside of the building. The building is right off the street, parking lot is in front of the building, the spaces are limited and quite tight. If its full, you can turn into alleys to find parking; but alleys are quite narrow. After entering the building, there's a directory by the stairs on the right hand side, there are other businesses in the same building. Follow the stairs up, TrioSpa is on the left hand side. There's mini waiting area, smoothing music is playing, calms you down right away. TrioSpa has two rooms only. Prior to the massage, they will have you to fill out a form to indicate the areas you have issue with. I booked this massage for my hubby as a surprise birthday gift to him. His neck and back have been bothering him for a while. He received the Swedish deep tissue massage from Troy. While waiting for him in the mini waiting area, I can hear their voice, sounds like they have been chatting a lot! The other room is clearly quieter. The review below is based on his experience.... Troy was an expert with many years experience with sports medicine and massage. The building was pretty cool, as it was an old converted house with a beautiful Oak staircase. Once the form was signed I got ready for the massage. I told him that I had a stiff neck and shoulders from too much computer use. He worked the lateral lines up to my hips and then to the shoulder and finally neck. He could really tell where the tension was and worked out the kinks. I don't know what kind of miracle worker Ryan is, but I've recently tried over a dozen masseuses between here, Santa Cruz and Mountain View. None of them were worth a damn. FINALLY!!! Ryan is a masseuse, personal trainer, and physical therapist and I have problematic shoulders due to various trainings. My shoulders usually pop and crunch even with all of my physical therapy. I just have to say that Andrea is amazing. Finding a good massage therapist in san jose is like finding a needle in a haystack. You either have to spend 200 dollars at Burke williams or try your luck with rink a dink foot massage places where you're unsure a happy ending just took place. I came across Trio spa as they seem to be reasonably priced and professional without too many bells and whistles or false promises. I walked in nervous but the ambiance of the old Victorian like home set me at ease. I met the woman who would then change my massage therapy life. I was disappointed with my lactic-plus peal with facial. I feel like a facial should be nice and relaxing but the esthetician was talking the whole time and she was even talking about election and virus during my facial. The lights were also left on the whole time in the room. I also feel like I did not receive a full treatment either as the esthetician didn't want to put anything on my face because she said my skin was too sensitive.
