We had a great time rafting with Trinity River Rafting. We did a half day trip which was perfect for our family of 6. The Rapids were thrilling but not scary. The water was cold but the day warm, so all of us jumped in the river at some point. Last but not least, our guide (Guyo, sorry about the spelling) was experienced and knowledgeable. My wife and I booked the full day Pigeon Point run and had a great ride down the Trinity River. We were actually the only two guests on the raft, which was nice because we were able to do things at our pace- stop and take a dip in the river, rock jump, whatever. Our guide Bill was awesome and full of knowledge about the animals and plants in the area. The first half of the trip was pretty mellow and relaxing and the second half is where the class 2 and 3 rapids are located. If you are short on time and just want to experience the rapids, the half day trip might be best, but we enjoyed relaxing on the front half. There's a reason this place has great reviews on Yelp. We had a great day! Family friendly outdoor fun at its best. Our guide Will was fantastic. He was knowledgeable and obviously skilled at white water rafting. He took safety seriously, but also offered adventurous activities such as guiding us to areas where we could safely swim and jump off rocks into deep pools. We found the 1/2 day Pigeon Point trip to be well worth the price of admission. We would definitely consider going again. read more

We did the half day Pigeon Point rafting trip with our three kids, ages 19, 13, and 10. It was amazing, and the best time we have had in a long time! Glen was our guide and he was great. Very safety conscious and tons of knowledge about the river itself and the history of the area. All the staff were very friendly and accomodating. Wetsuits and splash jackets were provided for the trip. I learned alot from our guide Dave about the river and the history of the area. Trinity River Rafting is amazing! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and they take planning and safety seriously. Our group of twelve (split between two rafts) went on a half-day trip and we were well taken care of from our life-jacket fittings to being taught safety procedures to the actual rafting adventure itself. The crew at TRR could not have been more professional and friendly. We were late due to traffic and they were very chill and we ended up having our own trip with the amazing Norah as our guide. This is a really fun class 3 river that was perfect for our 11 and 13 year old kids. We only saw 4 other boats on the river all day. Somehow river rafting eluded me and my family until we traveled to the Trinity River on July 4th, 2012 for the fun, exciting and memorable experience we had always come to expect. During the adventure as we were about to enter a series of exciting Class three rapids, a car on adjacent Highway 299 lost control and careened into the guardrail. Amid the gut wrenching sound of a screaming young girl up on the roadway, our guide and the guide of another boat calmly took control of the situation. One guide named Matt was an EMT so as a first responder, he helped the accident victims to survival. The guide of our boat, also named Matt, stayed with both boats and calmed us all down while we waited for the local rescue personnel to take over. Understandably, one of the passengers wanted to leave and walk back to his car, but our Matt convinced him that staying with the boat and riding the remaining rapids would be the best way for all of us to move on from the area. (I believe our guide also had legal responsibility to keep us together in the boats.) So after we all learned that the victims would survive their horrific accident, our two boats rode the remainnig rapids. For me and my family, we paddled with feelings of relief, joy, and exhilaration. Given what happened, I want to let others know that the two guys named Matt who worked this stretch of river that day showed exceptional leadership skills with a coolness under pressure, and a high regard for the safety and well being of everyone - whether in the water or on land. The photos taken of us as we smashed through a rapid called Hell Hole were classic (two in our family of four fell out!). The whole sequence was captured in the photos so we happily bought the compact disk. Our experience was worth every penny. read more

My family of six went on our river rafting trip yesterday to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We had a blast!! I was very nervous since I had never done this type of activity before, but the folks at Trinity River made us feel so comfortable! We had Bill as our river guide and he was fantastic! We showed up 30-45 minutes late because we had trouble finding the place (not their fault, we were just inept-- be aware that it's on the opposite side of the highway from the highway, very close to competitor Bigfoot rafting)... and yet were still greeted with friendly, flexible staff. Not only did they give us our full day's rafting trip, they actually extended it for an extra hour or two! Our guides (Mario and Ben) were entertaining, accessible, and capable, and by the end of the day they had become friends as well as guides. They were very knowledgeable as well about the history of the area, including several local gold-mining legends. I highly recommend this rafting company to anyone who wants to have an adventure in a truly inspiring natural setting. read more

There were 5 or 6 rapids (a couple were category 3) interspersed with relaxing stretches of smooth water. Equipment was of high quality and well maintained. Our group of 10 people from age 15-58 had the best time with Trinity, we started out stuck in traffic so we were about 40 min late, they were so nice to us on the phone and said no problem we will wait for you., very accommodating. We had two boats and our guide Justin made this trip amazing! He was so extremely knowledgable of the history and plant life as well as the river itself. What an amazing guy! We had an amazing time! This was our first time doing river rafting and I was a bit nervous. Dave and the staff are meticulous and thorough. He gave us an option of which trip we would like to take a more mellow one or the more adventurous one. We went for the more adventurous one. They had everything from wetsuits to eyeglass protectors available at hand to help. Everything was very very nominally priced. We embarked on our journey upstream in a van. On the way Dave explained lots of fascinating facts about the area and the people who lived there! In fact when a bug was crawling on me, he was able to describe the exact species of the insect! We were very impressed. The rafting experience itself was amazing! As we started off, we were guided by Dave through the beautiful river, he gave us a lot of information about the trees and wildlife. When turbulent waters came we navigated them with gusto, using Dave's expert judgment. We even had a short break for chips and homemade salsa, which was a resounding hit! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a wonderful time in nature. I left feeling so wonderfully refreshed and exhilarated. Incredible experience!! 5 stars! read more
