While I didn't actually take a trip with them. I am a private boater that was on the Klamath River at the same time. I've crossed paths with many guide companies in my years behind the oars and it isn't always a pleasant experience. From the put in where the guides helped me move my 15' raft and gave me verbal beta on the notorious Dragons Tooth rapid to the actual rapid itself they were polite and helpful. We didn't see them for 2 days on the river until the scout for Dragons Tooth. Being just a single boat with two people I graciously accepted Aaron's offer to keep an eye on us through the scary rapid. Imagine my surprise as we emerged from the chaotic maelstrom to 6 guides working safety and 45 cheering clients. It was truly a surreal river experience. A big part of a great guide service is how they treat their customers and other boaters. If you want to be on the river with a self important grump, there are plenty of them out there. What a wonderful experience Aaron provided for us and our 13 year old grandsons. So fun hearing the boys giggles when we hit the white water, they were the oar man on the front of the raft. It took several conversations with Aaron before the boys jumped into the chilly water and then we couldn't get them out. Aaron's knowledge of the river and area was also a lovely surprise during our float. I would highly recommend utilizing his service in Mount Shasta. read more

We did a half day trip with Aaron and had an amazing time. We have 9 & 11 year old boys and Aaron instructed them how to do super fun things like sit on the front of the bow during a rapid and jump out for swimming holes. They had a blast. He brought along a kayak and we had fun kayaking down the class 2 rapids. This was our second multi day trip with River Dancers. Our group included professional raft guides, long time private rafters, and complete newbies. Everyone had a blast. Just finished a 4 day trip with 30 people! I'm 68 years old; people my age often like to complain. We nitpick things to death. I'm so disappointed; I have NOTHING to complain about! Seriously, this was one of the best adventures of my life! Shantelle and John, the owners, have it completely together! They have honed their skills to a very fine degree of perfection - Their guides, the boats, the meals (especially the meals - Shantelle had the highest standards!), activities on the river (never dull, especially if you are lucky enough to get in John's boat - he's a master guide and entertainer!), the camp sites and evening programs! My family and I booked a rafting trip here with a guide named Ken down the lower section of Klamath river and it was amazing. Ken was a wonderful tour guide! He was very energetic and personable and made us feel very comfortable during the 7 hour journey. We did a class 2 level rafting trip which is considered beginning-intermediate, perfect for our first time! Lunch was included and Ken put together a fantastic spread consisting of fruit, vegetables, and gourmet sandwiches. We were quite impressed. Along with the raft, there were kayaks for those who were feeling more adventurous. Overall, this company was easy to work with and we had a lot of fun. I went on a 4-day rafting trip with my high school senior class. Highest recommendation. The guides were fun, knowledgeable, organized, experienced, and safe. Highlights include finding rocks to jump off of, swimming rapids, late night pb&js, and making a volleyball net with oars and throw-bags. Stories about the native Kuruk and Yurok peoples, wildlife, and other adventures filled the gaps. They managed to pack everything from a toilet and 12 camp chairs to a fire pit and full kitchen into our armada of 9 rafts. The guides balanced safety with fun river games and sarcastic jokes as we fell off the sides of the boats (remember-high school trip). Totally a blast. read more

Went on a one day trip with River Dancers with my church group. Everything was first class. They know their trade really well. My 8 year old boy had a blast. It is an adventure he will be talking about for years to come. Between Chantal, John, and Mark they're starting to come up on 100 years combined experience. They served us lunch about half way down the river. John is a vegetarian, so there will be plenty of options. We had Mark as our guide. He has 27 years experience and can turn the boat on a dime. We went down a class 3 and he was in complete control. He flipped the boat around so that the boys sitting in front got dunked (still in the boat), then turned it again to get us back down river. I don't think there's anyone that can know this river or his boat as well as Mark. If there was ever a master at his trade it is Mark. Thanks for the amazing adventure. Just returned from a 4 day trip on the Klamath with River Dancers. With a mixed crowd of thrill seekers and one (myself) with a fear of rushing, open water, we all had a great time. A challenge to please such a mixed bunch but John and Aaron, our river guides, managed to do it. My family has taken THREE trips with River Dancers, and I can't say enough good things about them. For my parents' 25th wedding anniversary, they treated the whole family to a three day rafting trip - 25 miles for 25 years. It was amazing. There were 11 of us, from my eager beaver brother and nephew to my mom, who didn't want to do anything but lounge in a boat and be waited on. We were all thrilled by our experience. I had had a bad experience while tubing in Boulder, CO during the year before and was not too sure about whitewater. The guides were so reassuring and wonderful, I was taking my turn in the inflatable kayaks by the end of the trip. And they were so caring and watchful of my young niece and nephew, we were all able to relax, knowing that they would allow the kids a great SAFE experience. And the meals!! After a day of guiding, those young men would whip out River Dancers aprons and put together gourmet spreads complete with fine wine for the adults. The experience was so totally wonderful, I scheduled a day trip for my entire extended family after my wedding in Mt. Shasta. We filled four boats with aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings and friends for a whole day of rafting, swimming, water fights, relaxation and great memorable family fun. This was the best family vacation we've ever taken. They made it fun for our 11 year old son, who got to kayak in the class 2 and 3 rapids (first time); our 6 year old twin daughters who loved the rafting and hike, and me (the mom). The food was delicious. All I had to do was set up our tent each night and pack it in the morning. Breakfast, lunch, appetizers and dinner were delicious (with nice wine). We're still glowing from an amazing 4 day family trip on the Klamath River! All three generations -- ranging from 4 1/2 to 72 years of age -- had an absolutely splendid time. Our wise and fearless leader, John, masterfully guided our journey, making sure that everyone had a fun and exciting experience, appropriate to each person's skill level, while keeping the entire group safe and happy. John's knowledge of the river, his ease with different kinds of people, enthusiasm, and friendly manner set a perfect tone. River guides Aaron and Malcom were also very nice, accommodating, and well-skilled. From the first moments of meeting them, we could tell that we were in good hands. Everything worked super smoothly throughout. It was fantastic to be able to chill out in beach chairs, swim, play with the kids, and set up our own tents at the end of each day on the river while our lovely hosts took care of unloading the boats, setting up camp, preparing fresh and healthful meals for us, and cleaning up.
