Never got the chance to get the service done I scheduled. I get multiple flyers a month from Trinity so I thought I would get my wife's oil change done. Had my son drop her off to work so I could get an early appointment. Called and scheduled the oil change and let them know I was using the coupon they mailed to me. Forgot the coupon this morning and when I got there I realized that I forgot it. Just assumed it would be okay since I let them know about it when I scheduled. Trinity wouldn't honor the price without the physical mailer they sent. Too late to drive home and back to grab the flyer so I wasn't able to get the oil change done. Just seemed odd that they will send that mailer out multiple times a month and know exactly what the offer was but not honor the price. read more

While on a cross country trip my check engine light came on and my car started running rough. The folks at Trinity where kind enough to take a look at my car and quickly diagnosed what was wrong with it. Rather then wait for the part, they sent one of their employees to the parts store to get an ignition coil to expedite the process so I could get back on the road as soon as possible. This by far is the biggest rip off auto care place in Minnesota. A friend's daughter who is just 21, was just was taken for for 2,300 for a brake job. They tried charging me almost triple the price of every shop in Blaine for a radiator replacement last year. I will be calling the BBB and the Attorney General today. I'm disgusted they would rip off a 21 year old girl. I hope everyone in this state hears about what they are doing to people to make money. Very very sad. I had a oil change set up 5pm sharp and I was right in time.... they also plugged a tire which had a screw in it and also had been patched once before (by myself). They seemed nice and I'd never been here before so I thought I'd give them a try... I walked in and instantly got a strange vibe as the seating arrangements were limited and another customer was sprawled out across the bench they had for customers to sit on( not like it's COVID season or anything) So I take a seat and begin to wait as the young lady at the desk tells me it will be about an hour. So I sit. An hour goes by and grant you it's now 6pm and I'm ready to go. I haven't drove the car since I had the work done and I went to pull it out this morning and it's sitting on a flat. Because idk what they did?! I called to the owner this morning and all she does is talk. I NEVER ONCE RECEIVED A Invoice I also never received a phone call back on a blinker situation that they told me they'd call me back on and it's funny because after I hung up on the lady all of a sudden I got two emails from Trinity Automotive which were my receipt and service invoice that they never gave me at the time of completion this place is an absolute nightmare running around like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off definitely need more help I will never go back here again!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!! Email to Dave / Trinity Auto on Sep 23, 2022, 8:55 AM: Prior to Aug 29th I called Trinity Automotive to inquire if they work on Euro vehicles; specifically VW. They informed me that they've "worked / work on lots of them." I explained that the reason which prompted my call was because I had noticed my engine surge a week or so prior and that I'd like a full vehicle inspection and potentially attend to any Mfg recommended maintenance based on the mileage. On 8/29/22 the following was performed: - Vehicle inspection which included a battery test that stated "no issues found."- Rear shocks - Spark plugs- Tune up - Transmission Svc Total amount paid $1668.11 Upon picking up my vehicle on 9/1 I noticed the engine surge immediately after starting it. I inquired about it and was told (by a young technician) that it's normal and that his vehicle does that when he starts it. I knew that was not correct. So I had Dave come and take a look; it was obvious that the engine surge problem was present. 9/2 the diagnostic report: -Confirmed engine surging is happening intermittently. With engine running, can remove dipstick from dipstick tube and observe excessive vacuum present. With vacuum gauge inserted to dipstick tube, engine crankcase vacuum is pulling 9 inHg of vacuum. This is an indication of a failed PCV Valve, recommend replacement. I okayed the proposal. One or two days later I was informed that the wrong part was delivered and that it would take another day or so. Total amount paid $409.91 On or around 9/5 I picked up my vehicle. Less than 5 minutes of driving there was a high pitched squealing coming from the engine. On or around 9/7 I picked up my vehicle. I was informed that it was a simple 2 minute fix of putting a cap back on (something or another).... I was also told that it should fix the engine surge. It's been either 4 or 5 times where I've come to pickup my "fixed" vehicle. 9/13 the diagnostic report: - "Battery load test failed" - I was told this test was a "more in-depth" battery test than was the initial test on 8/29 which stated "no issues found." Proposed fix was a $353 battery. I did some research and found a battery replacement estimate at VW - Brookdale for $274. On or around 9/13 or 14th I picked up my vehicle and drove it for about 30-40 miles. I parked and shut off vehicle. About an hour later my car wouldn't start. I waited about 45 minutes.... and it started. I drove it back to Trinity to have it looked at. I was told it could have been from running (charging) too many electronics with the vehicle not self charging. Perhaps this was the case - although it's never happened to me before. It's September 22/23rd now. It's been 25 days since I initially brought in my car. What i told Maddi, and asked her to relay to you: If Trinity doesn't get this resolved in an amicable way, I will shout this experience from the rooftops in Blaine and White Bear in hopes that someone else doesn't have to endure what I have. I don't care if you take it to a VW Dealership to figure out the engine surge problem. Even after being assured that Trinity has "lots of experience dealing w/ Euro / VW; It's abundantly clear that Trinity does not have the knowledge or expertise to handle this problem. I'm done dealing w/ this circus. This has been a colossal inconvenience; the time waste, stress and anxiety is incalculable. I'll be picking up my VW Monday 9/26. What is your proposal for an equitable solution? END OF EMAIL. As of 9/26 I've sent 3 emails, and 1 in-person attempt to be refunded for a part which hasn't fixed the issue. No acknowledgment from Dave of any mistake, nor offer of refund. I picked up vehicle un-fixed on 9/26 w/ no fix or resolution. read more

A few months ago I had my brakes replaced on a 2015 Nissan Ultima. After the work was completed, my brakes continued to make a squealing noise. I followed up with the shop to fix the squealing noise but after leaving the shop the noise persisted. With that, I once again returned to the shop to have a squealing noise fixed for a third time. The repairs came with a warranty, but what good is a warranty if the work is never completed satisfactory? The warranty is more or less not worth the paper it was printed on if you can't fix the problem. Because of these lingering problems I have requested a refund but the shop wants me to come back once again (fourth time) to see if they can fix the problem. It's hard to believe that a fourth visit with somehow solve the problem. As a result of all of this, I will need to take the vehicle to a different shop to get the brakes fixed. Unfortunately that will be more money out of my pocket for a job that should have been done the first time or in the case the second or third time around. It's too bad the shop did not stand behind their work other than continuing to have me bring the vehicle back to their shop...for a fourth time! I do have to say that everyone I met at the shop seem like very nice people. But nice only goes so far. I won't be back to Trinity Automotive. read more
