I was taking care of some business downtown on Saturday, and saw a sign for Trimmers and Paws, my dog was with me and needed a nail trim, so I stopped in. Natalie was busy bathing a large dog and let me know that she doesn't take walk ins for nail trims, so I set an appointment for 1 p.m. and headed home. When I arrived at 1 p.m., she was very friendly, my dog really liked her. Natalie came and sat on the bench with Frankie (dog) and used the dremel on his nails, it went very smoothly. I brought my five month old puppy in to Natalie today for his first taste of grooming. Her space is immaculate and welcoming. She sat on the floor and welcomed him while gaining his trust. I would never bring my dog there. Whoever cut my dog's hair they did it just how they look when they look at themselves in the mirror TERRIBLE! i can't tell you how upsetting. It is to pay for a service and look at your dog's hair and nothing matches. It was full of short strokes with the cpeppers. Nothing's blended. Nothing makes sense on my is dogs hair. Mind you, my dog is the sweetest dog. Not because I said because my dog visits people with dementia Alzheimer's and hospice and her temperament is very mellow dog. My dog hates everyone except me, my husband and Natalie her groomer. Natalie is so caring and efficient and my dog remains calm in her hands. The shop is a no thrills shop - so if you are looking for a blowout, bows and a fancy waiting room then you may miss out on the exceptional service. I love that the grooming space is a small storefront where I can stand and wave to my dog through the window the entire time. The bath area is out of sight, if you leave your dog there they will house them in large cages in the window where they can be seen. I hang out with my pooch in the car till they she is ready for her and am that to take her the minute she's done. Natalie runs her own show so there is no over-scheduling or weird rules and processes. Natalie is fantastic. We've been to many groomers in Marin and they haven't been satisfactory. One somehow left cuts all over my dog's neck, one butchered his hair, one tried to grab his paws without warming up to him and he nipped her so she refused to groom him, one didn't even clean his eye boogers, etc. I warned Natalie that my dog is anxious, testy and hates his paws touched and probably hates the groomer due to all of the negative experiences he has had and Natalie was chill - ok no problem, she said. Tobi stays fresh and clean smelling for 2 weeks after having been at Natalie's. I don't know how they do it. When I give him a bath, he stinks after 2 days. I can tell he still doesn't enjoy the groomer but he seems to tolerate it. His haircuts have been good and we will continue to come to Natalie! read more

I was excited to bring my dog to a new groomer. He's a chihuahua terrier mix and he gets very nervous with nail clipping. I will note that his nails were longer than they should've been, but the way his nails looked after and the sounds he made while grooming are reasons why I will never bring my dog back here. They cut his nails WAY TOO SHORT. Far past the quick which any dog groomer should know you don't do. All of his nails were covered in blood clotting powder because they made all of his nails bleed. He gets really aggressive if he sees me while he's getting his nails trimmed so I had to wait outside. As soon as I heard his whimpers (a sound he's never made before), I went inside to see them putting powder on his nails to stop the bleeding. As a dog owner, I felt it necessary to warn any dog parents especially if your dog has black nails. I have a feeling he will be even more traumatized from now on. Please note: my dog has not been groomed or bathed by this place and this is only a comment on the nail trimming. read more

I made an appointment to get my new puppy groomed with Natalie. The appointment was easy to make and I was able to get an appointment within a week of looking. I brought my puppy in for the appointment and met Natalie. I explained to her that I was really just looking to get my puppy's nails trimmed, but didn't know if that was possible without getting a full grooming. She looked at my puppy and told me honestly that she really didn't think she needed a cut and that if I was really not looking for a bath, she could easily cut my puppy's nails for me. She quickly trimmed the nails and didn't charge me anything. Natalie was super sweet in letting me know she would do any grooming I'd like at any time, but that if a nail trim was all I needed, she would be happy to do it for me at any time. I really appreciated Natalie not trying to unnecessarily get my business. Natalie was extremely friendly and very sweet with my puppy.
