Surgery costed enormous amount, but they helped us to cut cost, find special vet loans, connected with non profits, all office was helping us to deal with complexity of it while our cat was in surgery. She pushed the toy that stuck in the intestine manually with her fingers through the whole intestine to avoid extra cuts, extra cost and insure better life after! I can't recommend them enough. MY DOG ALMOST DIED LAST FRIDAY FROM THE BACTERIAL PNEUMONIA…read moreSHE CONTRACTED AT THIS FACILITY. When I picked her up she was skin and bones and her eye was crusted shut. I'm talking 10 days of eye crust - no effort was made to remove. I thought her eyeball was missing because it was so covered in crust. The worst part about this situation is that I was available to pick her up FOUR days earlier had they alerted me to her declining health. Instead she was so skinny and SICK when I picked her up that she had to be hospitalized for the weekend. I essentially paid $1000 for them to board her to neglect her to now be responsible for a $8k vet bill. BUYER BEWARE. DO NOT SEND YOUR BELOVED PETS TO THIS FACILITY. My dog is now home with a feeding tube and still very ill.

They answer all my questions and have been very accommodating to our needs. Being that we are relatively new for the last 3 weeks, whenever I run into another family and ask them questions they always say the same thing..... that their dog is happy and can't wait to come here each morning. That is very validating that I made the right choice and always nice to hear. The facility is very clean and the dogs all seem to be well cared for. They have one rule that I wish they would change (but I completely understand).... "No reaching in to pet all the adorable pups!!!!!!" How amazing that they take care of the humans as well so all are safe and sound. I call Happy Dog the "doggie summer camp" since the dogs get out on daily off-leash walks in the hills. Rates are reasonable. Care is good. Dog came home from camp tired & happy. What more can you ask? Oh, yeah, they'll also pick up and return your dog to your house (in Marin) for an additional charge.

If I could give a negative score I would. We trusted Lorna to watch our 3 cats and leopard gecko…read morefor 6 days. Not only did we have to cut our trip short, but the standard of care that was promised was not delivered. Lorna promised to call when she started to let us know everything was OK. When I hadn't heard from her, I got nervous and called her. Lorna had trouble getting the front door key to work, but instead of calling (she had multiple phone numbers to use and instructions to call if anything came up), her plan was to try again the next day -- without feeding the cats or letting us know that there had been a problem. That judgment on her part nearly caused my fiance to fly home immediately. We suggested that she try WD40 in the lock -- rather than the wax she had thought of trying -- and she got in. I should note that we examined the lock and the key upon our return and had absolutely no trouble locking or unlocking the door. We locked and unlocked it a couple of dozen times and were able to open the door every time. After that first day, we felt we needed to check in every day, and when Lorna reported more trouble with the lock, we decided to return early as we did not trust that she could reliably manage the situation. She had also promised to clean the 3 litter boxes once per day (if not, it can get to be quite a mess). We were gone 4 days and the boxes had never been cleaned. Upon our return, there was urine and feces outside all of the boxes. Lorna also promised to clean out the water dish (we have a drink well), it was dirty and there was food debris in the bottom. Bottom line...Although Lorna seems to be a nice person who cares a lot about animals, she did not demonstrate the level of professionalism one would expect from a full-time pet sitter. If and when we need a cat sitter again, I plan on calling our veterinarian for a recommendation.
