Food was amazing! Best bbq I've had in awhile!!! Highly recommend. Service was so nice. The atmosphere was vintage firehouse theme.

It's about 6 PM on a Sunday night in Pawhuska, OK. Other than fast food. You have two options for dinner, BBQ or Mexican. We chose Triggers BBQ, reviews were generally positive and it was a short stroll from The Frontier Hotel. The young lady working the counter was very friendly and our order was placed quickly. The fountain machine was not working which isn't a big deal. We each decided to try RC Cola. The only rub I have at this part of our experience is don't blame someone for the fountain machine not working. It's just a poor reflection. Just state it's not working. I ordered the brisket, coleslaw, and cheesy potatoes. My lovely wife ordered "the last of today's pork", brisket and cheesy potatoes. The food came out quickly. It was immediately noticeable that the brisket had sat in a warmer for way to long and was past its prime. A slathering of BBQ sauce on the brisket was not much improvement and was really uninspiring its self. A prior review noted the brisket tasted more like liquid smoke and I would agree. "The last of today's pork", was not as painful as the brisket yet not by much. Moving on to the cole slaw which I believe was a red wine vinaigrette. It was not to my liking however it might be to yours. I'll call this a push. Finally the cheesy potatoes. This side was good, moist and tasted as expected. It's unfortunate that this was the best item as I would fully expect the BBQ to be the star. The place is rustic, clean and small. With the draw in Pawhuska being The Pioneer Woman fame and you are a short block walk away. What you serve should be on point. This BBQ experience wasn't. read more

Service was ok. But food lacked. The baked beans tasted more like chili. The sausage was dry. We asked for pickles and received a bowl with 3 pickle slices for 2 people. When we asked if we could get more we were told that's all we could have. Not to mention that they lost my order and I received my order half way through my tables other orders. The customer service was amazing, and the food was great! I recommend getting the cheesy taters and the baked beans.

I originally wanted to eat at the Merch however the wait was over an hour and we were hungry! LOL We do what we always do, look on Yelp. This place was one block off the main strip but had great reviews. We were so glad we stopped. The thing with most BBQ places, either the meat is good and the sides are no good. Or vice versa. This place delivered on both! We got the sliced brisket and chicken with cowboy beans and cheesy potatoes. Yummy! Cap, the owner came out to ask if everything was OK and we had a wonderful chat with him about the history of Pawhuska and the filming of the movie Killers of the Flower Moon. This was hands down the best bbq I've had all the sides are incredible. He does his own flare on old traditional sides!!!! We were in town for 3 days and we ate at triggers twice...also I was a chef myself for 10 years and I would recommend this amazing spot to any and everyone..... The "Cap" or "Chris" is the Chef. This is the best barbecue I've eaten in years! It's a cool, very small building. The owner is eclectic and so accommodating! The prices are low especially considering the quality of food and wait staff. Eat at unusual hours and you won't have any trouble getting in and being served quickly.
