At the time I lived in Columbus and was in the Ironton/Portsmouth area to see family and had randomly found this spot at the mall. Over the years I had visited both locations mall and the downtown Ashland location shortly after it opened. It's been a few years since I've been in as I now live 4.5 hours away compared to 2.5, but was in the area on Wednesday. I had stopped in and browsed and was even more impressed with my finds this trip in addition to what I've found over the years. They have everything from Kenner Star Wars to Han Soloflex POTF 90s Star Wars to MOTU to Thundercats to Power Rangers to Strawberry Shortcake & Movie Maniacs. Staff is great and prices are fair. Definitely another spot I always try to hit in the area.

While their selection is decent, the prices are pretty much all on par with or higher than what you can expect to find online for the same items. This is pretty typical for local game shops so I don't hold that against them. However, what was weird was as soon as we walked in, we were apparently on a livestream they were doing. That's kind of weird to be filmed immediately upon entering a business, particularly with no written warning outside. We still walked around inside (thankfully mostly out of camera range), but the employees seemed very intent on their stream and keeping things "interesting" with their commentary. It was overall a pretty off-putting experience, despite the fact that their business otherwise seemed like a cool addition to the local business environment. I would consider returning here again in the future to give them another try, though I have to state the obvious: first impressions are important, and running a business still remains more about the customers in your store than your following online. Overall: 3.0 stars ---- Pros: - Nicely-laid out store with a good presentation. - Prices are pretty on par with most other small retro gaming stores: same/higher prices than online, though still fun to look through and support if you find something you like. - Available street parking outside. Cons: - Walking into an active stream and being on camera without warning might seem quaint considering how online the world is today, but I wasn't a fan. I went in looking for PS3 controllers one of the days I went, in store was cool and I loved the…read moresetup but area is kinda sketchy first time going, $45 for an original ps3 controller and 25 for a 3rd party controller the white one was the first one they sold me which where L1 is located it was already broken and not something I've done and I went back in two days later to get a replacement for the faulty controller it even had connection issues. The second time I came in the store opens at 10Am and I was sitting in the parking lot at 10:44 and a few minutes later they arrive at 10:47 to finally get to the store as I sat in my car waiting to exchange controllers and after I go in I tell the guy about the controller he tells me that he can't warranty the white controller because it's broken and they don't sell broken controllers but I tell him I didn't break it it was sold to me like that then tells me he's going to check the cameras to see. I had a receipt texted to my number he offers to refund but I wanted a different controller to be given he gives me the black one with dirt and no offer to clean it what so ever and no testing the controllers they're selling I get home to load up a game I chose saints row 3 and my character starts walking by himself which is obviously stick drift so that's two faulty controllers I wouldn't recommend honestly but that's my experience at forever games.
