Best Buy White Marsh

Came in to return a laptop from another store. Was told it would cost me to get someone in the shop…read moreto reset it, so I did it on my own. The very nice woman who was at the cash register plugged up the laptop and let me reset it, which took a while. The Man at the door watched my laptop while I went to use the bathroom and then walked around because the reset was taking a while. The woman at the computer section was very nice and patient, answering my questions while I looked for a nother laptop. I ended up exchanging laptops, and the whole process was seemless. Kudos to the 3 employees that helped me today, they took off a lot of my stress!

I rarely leave reviews, but my recent experience at Best Buy was so unprofessional that it deserves…read moreto be called out. The lack of customer service skills, accountability, and basic consistency with their own published policies was honestly unbelievable. The employees I interacted with seemed more focused on shutting down questions than actually helping. Instead of listening or trying to resolve the issue, they spoke over me, dismissed what was on the website, and then proceeded to invent policies on the spot -- policies that directly contradicted what BestBuy.com clearly states. When I pulled up the information on their website and showed it to them, they still insisted on their "in-store policy," but couldn't point to anything written, official, or even logical. It felt like they were improvising excuses instead of providing service. That's not professionalism -- that's laziness and a complete lack of training. If Best Buy expects customers to take their brand seriously, the very least they could do is ensure their staff follows the same rules listed on their own website. Right now, it feels like you get a different story depending on which associate you talk to and what mood they're in.

Lowe's Home Improvement - I only came in for paint but I had to get some plants!

I never met a Lowe's I didn't like! And these days, I've noticed a shift. Lately, employees have…read morebeen so helpful! Not that they weren't before, aside from the one-off, but recently employees are roaming the aisles intentionally looking for somebody to help. And I'm here for it!!! I've been Lowe's hopping trying to decide on paint colors for a Spring Refresh. Carl, in the paint shop, was especially helpful today! He walked me through my options and helped me decide based on interior/exterior, etc. It was a pleasant experience finally making those decisions and checking it off my list. Of course, I can't visit Lowe's without a visit to talk with the plants. The last Lowe's I visited didn't have many plants, but now that Spring has sprung, they're out! I didn't mean to buy six plants, but who can resist. Some were on clearance and my new fetish is buying cactus plants. AND, I had to buy something colorful to plant in front of the house. There you go. Done. Oh, and a monstera that I've been wanting. It was on clearance so, it doesn't really count. I don't think I'd been to this Lowe's before, but I like it. OH, did you know they have a section called "The Back Aisle"? It's like a clearance section for the whole store. I hadn't seen it before but found it on accident. One more thing for me to visit on my future Lowe's visits. Check it out.

I have found many plants on the half-price racks that with only a little TLC have recovered and thrived. I bought two braided hibiscus trees last year which I potted and used to flank my front stairs. I was able to over winter them and they are alive and well this year!

The service from IKEA staff was very helpful and very friendly. The selection of products was…read moretremendous; and as we were walking through the store, we picked up what we were looking for, but at the same time we saw a bunch of items that we weren't looking for that we decided to get as well. We saw the items either on display and decided that we would like to get them or we saw them on the shelf at the value that we could afford so we decided to pick them up as well. We only had one issue with the store; its layout. We had a hard time locating items when the screen said to go to certain aisles and locations. We had a hard time finding out where those areas were to find the products. The store didn't exactly have a well written out description of where aisles and locations were at. To find most of the items we were looking for we had to actually ask staff members for almost all of my items. It might be a better idea for future stores to show a better written plan of where the aisles are located at as in if somebody asks for aisle 7, the screen will tell them something like second floor. Just passed the light section and possibly show a floor plan/map to where aisle 7 is, and a spot where you are and possibly a line for a direction of how to get there. It might be the most useful idea because me and my mother looking for specific things even though we had the numbers for the items we wanted couldn't find probably 90% of our products in the store because of it's funky set up. Sorry about me dissing your store set up, but I had no idea where I was or where to go in your store at least half the time I was inside it.
