Responsiveness was sketchy at best. I had some damaged product which resulted in months of delays (not Mill Valleys fault) BUT they should have advised me to open ALL cabinet boxes and inspect thoroughly instead of only opening fronts. I was disappointed in the Candlelight product, but that's another story. If you want a company to handle all aspects of your kitchen remodel then this is NOT the place to go. You can save some money here (on cabinets) but in my experience the savings was not worth it.

About 3 years ago we remodeled our kitchen blowing out a wall for more of an open concept. We wanted a simple but very high quality look for a country stone farm house.. Mill Valley showed us white full inset shaker style cabinetry from two of its semi-custom brands. We chose one which was great but saved us $10,000 compared to the highest end line they carry. It was a very long process given everything we had to do and delays with our contractor. But they were very patient and went with us to other places to help pick everything out, even though they weren't selling us the flooring, and appliances. They were also very helpful with the counters, which they don't make either. We went to two different places and learned a lot about surfaces. Ultimately we went back to granite, and we learned you have to be picky because some granite is more beautiful and marbleized than others, and most folks get tired of moving slabs around so you can cherry pick their best stuff. I would definitely recommend Mill Valley if you want a very high end kitchen at a reasonable price.

My local Lowe's contracted their countertop installations to Hallmark Countertops. They were very…read morecourteous when they took measurements and during installation. All very nice guys. It took a very long time to receive our countertop. But, that's probably normal in this day and age of COVID19. So, it is what it is. When the countertop arrived, the sink hole was cut in the wrong location. So, it went back to the shop. They offered to take my new sink with them, for measurement and they'd also install it for me. 2 weeks, they said. Cool. Remember these details for later. When they left, my kids found a screw in the driveway where their truck was parked. This happens so often with contractors, I wonder why all of them don't sweep your driveway with one of those magnetic sweeps. It took a lot longer than 2 weeks, but again COVID.  Their appt was scheduled for 11-2, they arrived around 2:30. But, the countertop was gorgeous. So they put it down and start screwing it in. I asked them to apply liquid nails first. They should have done this automatically. Then, they forgot to bring my sink back. I called the owner and he said "I don't know how I'm gonna get it to ya". It's a Friday. About 4 pm when they finally leave. Since I wanted to have a sink over the weekend, I drove to his place, 45 minutes away, to pickup my own sink (they refused to install it like they said they would, and said it would have been a 'courtesy', like they were doing me a favor). So I get home to install it, and discover parts are missing. The parts (bolts, nuts, clips) were wrapped in the instructions (can you say 'rip'?). They sure weren't like that when they took the sink. Two clips were missing. Let's recap: a long wait for my counter, a bad cut, they promise to install my sink, another long wait, they were very late, they try to take short-cuts and don't install the liquid nails, I had to spend 45 minutes of my time and gas money to pickup my own goddam sink from their office, only to find they some of the parts which sent me out to several hardware stores looking for something similar. A fair dealer would provide some discount as a good business practice. No discount, but I did get a great big smile when the owner told me the promise to install the sink was a 'courtesy'. Even. though. they. didn't. But, and here's what makes this all ok. They gave me a tube of DAP white kitchen and bath caulking. I was so excited. What a great bunch of guys.

He worked with us on keeping costs down without being cheap, his workers were punctual, polite, and skilled. Since then THR has fixed our concrete walkway, put new railings on our porch (did that in one day), and this week they arrived at our home less than 2 hours after I messaged Vito about a leak (this one finished about 2/3 of the original quote). Very glad he was recommended to us, and you should be too !!

Most of the doors (interior and exterior) need to be replaced, tile is popping, and drywall requires thousands to fix. Our house has still not passed final inspection, we have punch list items from November still unfulfilled. Paid for 1k in grading that was never performed. Still have no shelves or rods in our closets. Their workers drank on our property, lied about it, left their trash. We had several items stollen from the property because it was not properly secured which was part of our contract.

This contractor came in with a blank contract template, asking me to sign it. There had been no details of the kind of work that was to be done, and when I mentioned the lack of information, he said I could fill it out myself. He kept insisting to sign the contract and give him an immediate deposit. I obviously declined signing a blank contract, and he started to try and intimidate me which I found so ridiculous. I just told him we will find someone else. Very unprofessional, and people should know.
