I gave a lot of grace in the beginning due to time constraints that were outside of the company, but soon started to see that the GC was the problem. I was told the project was going to take 3-months - it took about 8 months to complete and I'm still waiting on some items. A lot of work had to be redone due to it being installed improperly or sloppy work. I expressed how I wanted things to go and the contractor did their own thing. I issued the last check with the impression that they would come back to fix my shower because on the best day the water is hot for maximum of 2 minutes and cold after that . I haven't heard from the contractor in months. I've called, emailed, spoken to the assistant that said they would call back but haven't. I would not recommend this company at all. They lack customer service and follow thru, the work has been subpar and it's a struggle finding someone with good work ethic and integrity

I agree with the other 3 star review person. None of the workers doing the construction work for Dfine. In fact one of them told us no habla ingles, indicating he only spoke Spanish. Highly suggest you find any other firm to do the actual construction. I've never had an issue with Brothers Services or Tim Kyle Electric. If you want the job done right you need a firm that has employees who are vested in the project results and speak English. Dfine's use of contractors that don't work for Dfine is a mistake from the outset. We had delays and eventually had to negotiate a final payment since not all work contracted for was completed or some services were overpriced after checking with other firms. And some work for which I requested a quote so I could check with another firm was simply done without providing a quote for which I had to pay extra for. And Ahmet, while an owner, was never a project manager. In fact there was no project manager watching over daily work. Allied Remodeling at least offers that, where one of the owners reviews the daily work and any communications. I did eventually outsource some of the work to trusted firms like Tim Kyle and Anderson Windows. Did I pay more? Yes. Did I get the work that I expected? Yes. If Dfine somehow convinces you to go with their work crew, insist that David is the primary person who deals with the work. Still not a project manager, but a cut above the rest of what they have to offer. Anyone else is a joke. The design work done by Dfine was thoughtful. The construction could have been much better. And a word about what you think you want. Marble on any part of the remodel looks great. It is however cold as hell to the touch. In the kitchen during winter the counter tops are always cold. And try backing into a cold wall in the shower. It can be shocking. You may want to consider alternatives. There are plenty of firms that can get work done in a day without using marble. My upgrade from the 1960s was better than it was. Not perfect.

It was on the weekend and we had a guest, so we wanted to get the situation resolved quickly. We were fortunate though because even with the pictures we sent David, he still wanted to come out to see in person what was going on with the leak. The same day we called, he came out. They didn't charge us like it was an emergency like companies like roto-rooter would. They ended up replacing a copper sewer pipe (our house is from the 60s) running from the upstairs bathroom down to the kitchen pantry. It only took them two days for the repairs and others have stated the estimates and final cost were very reasonable. We hope to use DDL again in the future.

Alison designed an incomplete bathroom, ordered a sink cabinet that did not have room for plumbing, lied about visiting the job site every day and so had no idea how badly the project was going. Eric the carpenter spent about one day a week at this project, regularly left a mess, did not complete assigned tasks. We paid someone else to complete his work. We are dealing with product issues still--on our own. I would never recommend Cox Kitchen and Bath.

But, a hinge on one of the cabinet doors broke. I went to the showroom with the broken hinge and Allison, the next generation of the family helped me. She warned that she would have to do some research on the hinge, and would have Quality Cabinets send me a replacement. Less than two weeks later a box arrived with not, one, not two, but six replacement hinges, in case another broke. Talk about going above and beyond- Cox Kitchens is the best.

This contractor came in with a blank contract template, asking me to sign it. There had been no details of the kind of work that was to be done, and when I mentioned the lack of information, he said I could fill it out myself. He kept insisting to sign the contract and give him an immediate deposit. I obviously declined signing a blank contract, and he started to try and intimidate me which I found so ridiculous. I just told him we will find someone else. Very unprofessional, and people should know.

We were told…read more(AFTER we signed) that it would take 4-6 weeks for the cabinets to be ready, so this delayed our project until around the holidays. They were gracious enough, however, to replace our stove (which we needed for Thanksgiving) and fixed/patched a hole in the ceiling in advance of the project. So, that was nice. The problem, though, was that 4-6 weeks turned into FIVE MONTHS. We signed in October, and the project didn't start until March. I think in today's pandemic world, that would have been a lot more understandable given supply chain issues, but we were told this was a personnel issue on the contractor's side. Okay, whatever, we rolled with it. We lived with the old rooms for several years... what was a few more months? The remodeling went well, but instead of 6 weeks, it lasted 8 weeks. Again, not really our biggest gripe. We understand timing and how projects can get wonky sometimes. But, the problem here was, there was no communication from their side as to what the delays were and when we could expect work to resume. In fact, every update we received, it was after WE called THEM. We never received a proactive call from the company. Until... my first Yelp review. It was basically the same as above, with some errant backstory from another vendor that got confused into the mix. Then, we had a call immediately from the owner, within 24 hours of posting the review. So, why did our project manager use this same proactive outreach when working on our project? Why did it take a negative review to stir action? To their defense, half of the issues we pointed out (missing cabinet posts, leak from the commode, stain in the kitchen ceiling from leak/water damage, loose fixture in the bathroom). The other half (repainting the ceiling, loose bathroom faucet fixtures, loose commode not properly in place, dishwasher not attached to the counter and pulling on the paneling) were never addressed. Fast forward to today, and we have a leak (again) in the same commode because there is an unsecured PVC ring that was used to raise said commode for apparently no discernable reason. This has lead to a gradual leak that caused yet another hold in our ceiling, not to mention the cost of having the leak identified and resolved by an outside contractor. At this point, I'm not going to be pressured to recant my review. These are the facts and potential customers should be made aware of our experience. Each of the three remodeled rooms has lingering issues, some more severe than others. Aesthetically, the work was very well done, and we do enjoy the functional and well-working aspects. The parts that need addressing, however, have already cost us additional and unnecessary funds to rectify. This has been an overall unsatisfactory experience.

Kyle, the in-office project manager was always available and helpful. The job was supposed to take 3 - 5 weeks. They finished in three and a half weeks. I am very pleased with the remodeling job that they did. I can't recommend them highly enough.
