My daughter wanted to get her nostril pierced for her birthday this year, so we went in last night and got her what she wanted. The whole team was fantastic, from the person working the front counter to "Jane" her piercer. They were both super knowledgeable, took their time explaining things to my kiddo about everything from types of jewelry, the piercing procedure itself, to aftercare. I WOULDNT recommend this shop. I regret not walking out as soon as I sensed the bad vibes. My tattoo artist Yaz barely spoke to me and provided terrible customer service, but she had no problem having conversations with the other artist. I don't know if it was a bad day but she clearly didn't want to tattoo me. The tattoo turned out terribly, I wanted a fine line tattoo of the sun and walked out with something that's dark and doesn't resemble a sun at all. And now I have to pay for a cover up. The final product looks nothing like we discussed. I've had multiple people tell me it wasn't worth the money. Im so upset, like so upset. read more

Came here to show Jane some love! She is so professional, sweet, and very gentle for scary piercings! I highly recommend Jane for all your peircings needs on Fridays at this shop. The girl at the counter is also WONDERFUL I don't know her name but she's blonde and super sweet! I had my appointment scheduled at 11:00am right as they opened and I didn't have to wait more then 15 minutes to be back and starting the process. So Rude! I have never been treated this way in a piercing shop before. My fault for not walking out the second we got attitude, but it continued from the front of the shop into the piercing room. And it's crazy expensive for simple ear piercing $150. Seriously would NEVER go back or let anyone I care about go there. I got my first helix piercing today and I was super nervous. I was already nervous about doing it at a tattoo parlor because it always felt so intense in there to me. When I got there I was greeted by the front desk person who showed me the jewelry options as well as customizable parts. I chose to just go with a basic hoop and the staff started sterilizing it for me. I waited maybe 5 minutes before the staff called me back. The piercer was super nice and chill. He helped me figure out a good spot for the piercing and talked me through how he'll do the piercing. The helped me with some breathing and went on the third breath. If an ear lobe piercing is a 1 on the pain scale this was probably a 3. The biggest shock was hearing my cartilage crack but it just sounded like someone was cracking their knuckles (but much quieter). The most painful part was probably when the piercer put the jewelry in, not the actual piercing. After it was done I went to the front desk to pay for it where I also bought some cleaning solution. The price including jewelry, service, cleaning solution, and 20% tip was a little less than $50. Everything seemed clean and staff was wearing masks. I went to their new location yesterday to have jewelry changed out. The new location is absolutely beautiful! Spacious, large glass windows, lots of comfortable seating and spotlessly clean. I was welcomed with a huge smile by the associate behind the counter (I believe her name was Avery). She had such a nice, mellow, friendly personality and she immediately made me feel very welcome. After a very short wait, the piercer Jane came out for me and proceeded to change out my jewelry while giving me the absolute BEST advise that I was not aware of. Jane answered all of my questions and helped me choose 2 new pieces of jewelry for my Outer Helix that was not happy and for my very old eyebrow piercing that had migrated some. There was no pressure to purchase anything and Jane helped me choose jewelry that was in my price range (I hadn't planned on buying new jewelry but I am SO glad Jane explained why I should use better jewelry for the piercings that were acting up). Their jewelry was absolutely gorgeous and their prices are very competitive. I cannot say enough good things about Avery and Jane and the experience I had at Tribal Rites. Both ladies are extremely knowledgeable and so happy to help. They are both a definite asset to Tribal Rites and I hope whoever is in charge realizes this. Great energy and positive vibes all around. Fantastic experience! I set an appointment for my twin girls (13) yo's and myself. They both had helix piercings and I had my nostril. We showed up right on time. Brought their birth certificates and school ID's along with my drivers license. They had us in the system and were ready to show us jewelry. After our choices, it took all of 2 minutes to get the first of us in the chair. Jay was there ahead of time prepping and getting ready for us. Perfect selection of jewelry for first time piercings and great recommendations for me since I didn't know what route to take. Also very nice pricing! The gentleman that welcomed us was super kind, funny and extremely helpful. Jay was nothing but professional, fast and made my girls feel very comfortable. If you are considering a 'gun' approach because it's so fast, I would recommend the professional way and go with the needle if your child is old enough. It's way less painful and less traumatic to the piercing area. I told my girls I would never pierce my nose again because of a previous experience 7 years ago. I let it heal before and it was not a good experience in any stage. I really wanted it done so I took the chance. I'm so glad I did. Jay did a fantastic job and I swear it was nothing like the time I had it done before. So easy and didn't hurt nearly as much as I had anticipated. Had a wonderful experience here today when I went in to get my labret pierced. I was pierced by Jay, who was not only super friendly, but also has been piercing for over twenty years and is easily the most qualified piercer I've ever been to. He gave us tons of information about after care and even told me what to do about my rejecting eyebrow piercing. Then, I was shocked when I checked out and only had to pay 30 bucks compared to other places in the area that are 75 for a piercing and the jewelry. I was very disappointed with how I was treated after being a Tribal Rights customer for a few years. I tried several times to get a hold of the tattoo artists Mel, and she didn't return my texts. When I did arrive at the shop she was rude and refused to work on me. After our attempted visit in January, we were contacted by the owner of Tribal Rites. Mike took the time to not just message me via Yelp, but spent close to an hour on the phone with me. He explained what his employee relayed to him, and then listened to what I relayed as our interactions. He apologized on behalf of his employee, assured us that steps were taken to correct the general customer service experience, and offered to make it right with an offer to allow us to come in and have a better piercing experience for our daughter. I have had three bad experiences at tribal rites. Especially this one. The first time I went to get a nose hoop for my nose piercing, and I walked out and the lady said the gold would've looked so much better on you. The gold was $50. I went back again to get the gold hoop and they make you have the piercer put it in. My nose was completely healed. I have had my piercing for a year and a half. And he made my nose gush blood, and now have a huge keloid. Keloid is a sign of trauma to the nose. He used so much force on my nose to get the hoop in. Obviously because it bled. He caused so much trauma to my nose, even after I've had it pierced for a year and a half. I will never go back here. He also made me and my friend feel absolutely horrible about her nose piercings, she made rude comments about them about how they weren't in the right place and whoever pierce them was an idiot he said that they were placed completely wrong and that's why it was bleeding. When in fact, that is not the reason. I'd be careful going here and maybe go somewhere else. read more

Let me first say, I am giving 5 stars because my first visit when I got pierced deserves nothing less! The 2nd visit is another story... I dropped in later in the evening on Thursday last week without an appointment and was hoping a piercer would be available. Lindsey was at the front desk and was so helpful and friendly, she took the time to help explain the differences in the jewelry options and helped me pick out what I wanted. Sam was my piercer, who exceeded expectations! He was easy going with the placement of the 4 different studs I wanted, was gentle and took time to go over after care before I left. It's been about 6 days since I got pierced and three of four are doing really well. I have one that though that has been so swollen, "hot" feeling for days, with a knot that is starting to form in the back--- so I stopped by tonight to just have them look at it before I leave on a trip. Lindsey was there again, really friendly and welcomed me back. I explained to her I was a little worried about one, she looked and agreed it was pretty swollen and red and went to go get the piercer there on staff to take a look. This is where, if I could without hurting the rating of Sam and Lindsey, I would rate it with 1 star. Julianne came out, Lindsey wasn't far behind chatting her through why I was there. She barely looked at my ear and her very first statement was " what did you expect when you get 4 at once?" Ok, fair enough I see her point, although I think she probably could have found a slightly nicer approach and maybe... You know ... Actually looked at the piercing I was referencing... but I'll move on from that. I said I get it 4 piercings, in the ear, small area etc. but I just wanted to be sure it wasn't anything to worry about before leaving and after how long if it keeps up with this red hot/swollen to the touch/ throbbing should I be worried? (Again just asking for clarification) Literally, after I finished that sentence, she walked away. No comment, no answer, nothing just turned her back and left. Lindsey looked to see where she was going, and once she realized she clearly wasn't coming back, she apologized profusely to me more than once. I appreciated Lindsey's attention, but it wasn't her , it was Julianne that was so rude. Lindsey went back to the back and asked her if she could answer my questions , she came back and said "I don't know what you expect nobody should have done 4 on you". Ok, again, I am asking for her professional opinion and if that's it that's OK... There are much better ways to address customers and showing a little respect wouldn't hurt either. If you are looking at this place as an option for piercing, I highly recommend Sam. If this other girl is there... Stay far away and make an appointment with someone who actually cares about their customers like Sam, it will be worth the wait. read more

Beware these people are tattoo and piercing elitists. I went to get a piercing switched out and the piercer wouldn't shut up about how my piercer pierced me crooked. When actually my piercer used a ruler to make sure it was symmetrical. Then he was like "I mean the inside is crooked" like okay? Why would I even care the outside is straight basically the front desk guy and the piercer just spoke to me like I didn't know sh*t when I've had basically everything pierced from different states AND countries. I think I know a thing or 2. And on top of it all when the piercer was switching out my piercing he yanked it through SO HARD that it felt like he had pierced it all over again! I literally had tears in my eyes and he was like "oh did that hurt??" Like no dude I just decided to push tears out of my eyes. Also my little brother went there last year for his first tattoo and the tattoo guy literally said to him "oh so you're 18 now huh? Big tough guy huh?" Not really the attitude you should give someone who is a little scared and getting a first tattoo. He took his business elsewhere where they didn't make him feel like an idiot. As for me, I bought the jewelry because it was beautiful and exactly what I wanted. Needless to say that was the only good thing about my experience and I'll never go back. I can't say enough good about this place. I called on Friday night to get some information and checking to see if they could take me on Saturday. Nathan got on the phone and we discussed what I wanted and he was really happy to do something so personal for me (my daughters name from the first time she wrote it). He fit me in at 1230. I got there a little unprepared and he was totally cool and printed out my reference for me. We got to chatting with him and the other guys and everyone was super cool. Nathan was very professional and made sure my piece was exactly how I wanted it (no issues, because he was spot on getting it traced and set the layout). I never felt hurried or like my design wasn't cool or important enough like some reviews of places I've read. The guys were awesome with my kid, too. read more

The girl we talked to at the beginning about finding us some septum jewelry walked away from us and couldn't seem to focus on one task, her coworker helped us instead while the first girl wrote a card with her bosses name on it because she couldn't find anything we were looking for and didn't have time. If an underage person is getting a piercing make sure you call before you go in to make sure a piercer is working that day, that is willing to do it. I took my under 16 year old to get a nose piercing and the piercer working wasn't willing to do it. We came in two days in a row as we were told someone working the following day would be willing to it and..... wasn't there. Also! Make sure you have a birth certificate, passport or ID for said under age party, as well as your own. Ridiculous....other companies do not require this. Very rude tattoo artist. Came in at about 8:20 (40 minutes before closing) to inquire about a very small tattoo with my friend. Artist was sitting in the tattoo chair on his phone in an empty parlor and said he can't do any more tattoos tonight because there isn't enough time and said he usually stops around 8. He was very mean to my friend and I and treated us like we were dumb. With my prior tattoo experiences, the artist could have easily accommodated us. He just lost over $120. If he isn't going to do work in the hour before closing then he might as well just close the store and be done. read more

I called ahead to make sure that they would have time for me as well as be able to do the design I was hoping to get only to be told it depended on the artist and wasn't able to speak to anyone who could help me over the phone. Upon my arrival the girl at the front desk was very sweet and helped me talk to the artist who was nothing but rude and stuck up to me during the whole conversation. I didn't have much input on the overall design after being talked down to about my choice. I was finally asked for my name AFTER he began my tattoo. So he does we go in for my appointment I'm already sketchy that we're going back cause everyone has been so rude . This location is as good as the Boulder one if not better - the same friends, quality, high-value service but without the crowds. I am extremely disappointed. I went in to buy plugs and was told I couldn't be in there with my service canine. My canine goes EVERY WHERE with me including hospitals where diseases are everywhere. The boy claimed it wasn't safe for the canine, which I get if i were going in the back, but I was only at the front counter, not getting a tattoo. If it isn't safe for her at the front door, then how is it safe for people? People with service dogs can't get tattoos or piercings? That's funny, I have 16 tattoos, never had a problem before. Also, she is a working canine I can't be without. So now I suppose I will never come for a tattoo or jewelry because of my disability? I have never felt it thrown in my face like that.
