I ordered from this place because I had a friend over that needed to have vegan pizza and I actually tried the vegan pizza but was so good. The regular cheese pizza was nice too. We also ordered the cheeseburger but there was no option online to ask how we wanted it, so it did come back Done medium. I would ask the person who takes your order or comment online to mark the vegan versus regular pizza because we couldn't tell by the looks of it. read more

I've been dying to try triangle Tavern because of all the vegan and vegetarian options. The atmosphere is very local dive bar. Lots of drinks selections and an interesting bar staff. They were nice to me but rude to people who came too close to the bar for pick up orders. The polenta fries were delicious and the portion was enormous! The vegan meatballs and pasta were really really good! Will definitely come back for them. The stuffed jalapeños were on the extras menu and weren't that amazing. Slight spice but the breading fell off and they weren't extremely flavorful. Overall good for the vegan options but not a place I'm flocking back too. read more

I went on Tuesday and ordered a roast pork sandwich. The waiter asked if I wanted cheese (sure) and broccoli rabe (sure). The sandwich cost $13 plus $2 for cheese and $3 for broccoli rabe. The roll was excellent but the filling was very stingy. It contained a very small amount of pork, a very small amount of cheese, and a smaller-than-I-expected amount of broccoli rabe. Even all added together, the roll was underfilled. The pork I did get was fine. I regret paying $18 for this sandwich and $4 for a glass of ginger ale. read more

I tried the vegan buffalo pizza. I enjoyed it. It was about the size of a medium pizza. There was a white sauce that looked to be ranch or maybe a cheese that was a little bit too much for me on the pizza however I still enjoyed it and ate it all lol. I also tried one of my friend vegan wings. The texture threw me off but it was tasty. She had half buffalo & half sweet something wings. I'd definitely go back and try some other items on the menu. We came here for a family meal recently to accommodate children, vegetarians, vegans, and meat eaters. Every single person loved their meal! One family member asked again the name after so they could save it for a return visit with friends. When you enter, it feels like you're in a pub and is pretty unassuming, but you're also instantly hit with the delicious smells of Italian food. The vegan mozzarella sticks were great - actually melted inside and perfectly crispy crust. The vegan caesar was also good, it does come with veggies like tomatoes and olives which isn't traditional. It was tasty but may surprise folks. The vegan eggplant and vegan chicken parm - both in a sandwich and with spaghetti - were a huge hit. My sister and cousin got the regular caesar and regular eggplant parm and loved theirs too! Other folks at the table got spaghetti and meatballs and pizza and enjoyed them. Great selection of beers and ciders, too! The only thing I wouldn't order again was the garlic bread. It was too toasted and didn't have much garlic flavor at all. That doesn't negate how delicious everything else was! There's plenty of places to sit, both high tops, regular tables, and the bar. This is one of my favorite bars with outdoor seating that offers REALLY GOOD food. While it's not like, dirt cheap bar food, you most certainly get quality meals here. Plus you cannot go wrong with the citywide specials for $5, which consist of a PBR and a shot of whiskey (the best way to start your day or night). I like how their set up for outdoor seating is and the staff are very helpful and attentive! Husband and I are obsessed with their fries and sweet potato fries, even though it's such a simple side. I personally really love their mozzarella sticks - they are just amazing stuff. Vegan mozzarella is also great here, not sure what vegan cheese they use, but obviously they know what they're doing. Whether or not you're a meat-free or dairy free person, go for the vegan cheese steak. It's hella good! And the best vegan cheesesteak I've ever had - no one tops this one so far. Triangle Tavern is an old school Italian place with a new school makeover. I remember coming here ages ago with the fam and it's probably a place I wouldn't think to go when back in town to visit friends, but I saw it pop up on a list of great vegan options. Since I knew I would be dining with one or two vegans at every meal, I wanted it to be good for all of us. I also wanted old school Italian-American food when back in Philly. Triangle ticked all the boxes: excellent Eggplant Parmesan with spaghetti and a Caesar salad for the two non-vegans to share, vegan meatballs and spaghetti for them, and sautéed broccoli rabe (have to have this in Philly), and spinach for all of us. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly al dente, and the eggplant was crispy with just enough cheese and sauce. You better like garlic if you are ordering this broccoli rabe. Fortunately I do! This is an old tavern/dining room style place and service is friendly but not obtrusive. It was nice to make a new memory here! read more

The appeal to the Triangle Tavern is they have a wide array of bar food and for fair South Philly prices. Open since 1933 you see a lot of the vintage signs and decor that give this place nostaglia and neigborhood charm. I tried the cocktail named "Trust the Process" a bit of tequila and ginger beer with some other sweetners in it not bad at all but for $10 a pop not sure this is the drink when your trying to spend wisely in a neighborhood South Philly joint. Shared a plate of the Cinnamon Pancakes that desperately needed maple syrup / more butter / or something as I would not venture to order this item again (there was no syrup or butter that came out with the order). Also split the eggplant sandwich which was okay. The sauce in it was good on the sweeter side which would make me order spaghetti and meatballs here if I return as I am reading stellar reviews of there meatballs. Not running back here but if you need some food in you and quickly its worth a pop in for certain bar food items. read more

Eggplant parm is delicious. Instead of using regular Italian roll, the bread is a flat similar to ciabatta, very nice crust. I'm not a big fan of arugula but I can enjoy it in the sandwich because it's not too much and blended well with the melty cheese and the tomato sauce. read more

Loved the food, great crispy exterior and flavorful vegan crab cake sandwich. Loved the fries and polenta fries were tasty too, and the hot toddy was great on a chilly day. Let me start by saying.. I am a HUGE wing lover. (Yes, I start many reviews with this same sentence, but it's truly a staple of my diet) so I was curious about these renowned Vegan Wings I've been hearing so much about... Went here on a nice Tuesday evening and the outdoor seating was packed! Highly recommend coming early if you are looking to dine in. We decided to order (1) thing of Buffalo Chicken Wings and (1) thing of Buffalo Vegan Wings - to compare. When we got the order we noticed the sauce on the Vegan wings looked & tasted different than the sauce on the Chicken wings so we're 95% sure we accidentally received the country sweet style instead. Despite the wrong sauce, the Vegan Wings were definitely a hit! They were so crispy on the outside, and lathered in the sauce (which was almost like a sweet heat). I was skeptical, but I am now a believer. These were amazing! I think I'd even like them more in the buffalo sauce. The Chicken wings were also really delicious -- they were crispy on the outside & nice and tender on the inside. My fiance & I were trying to figure out they cooked them so perfectly- were they roasted then fried? No one knows, but they were incredible. And their buffalo sauce was a delicious buttery classic buffalo sauce -- and were super saucy just the way we like them. Honestly good wings have been increasingly difficult to find in the city (always too dry, too overcooked, not enough sauce, fatty, etc) but these were exactly how we like them! Beer prices are a bit high but they have a nice selection. The outdoor area is lovely. And be patient with the staff- they're super swamped with everything opening back up! read more

I love this place! We've been going here for the past three years and I can't believe I haven't raved about them on Yelp yet. They have the best vegan options and great specials. The boozy wooder ice is awesome and they have many flavors you can add to it but drink it quick, it comes with a paper straw! The portions are huge so you'll definitely have leftovers. Have never had a disappointing meal or experience here. Indoor, outdoor, or to go, the food is always consistent. Their veg/vegan options are so good that I find myself ordering the same thing over and over instead of trying something new, but every once in a while I grab a special or do something different. The vegan roast beef, cheesesteak, and chicken parm are my standbys. Even the pickle each sandwich comes with is great. And fries are an add-on but they come with 3-4 servings big enough for the table or leftovers, and they're addictive. Drinks are solid and service is always excellent. This is the kind of place you could go to weekly, if not more often. read more

We ordered the calamari - perfectly fried. Comes with a marinara sauce (would've been good to have a slice of lemon). The tavern cheesesteak is ok. It comes with cheese, fried onions, and tomatoes. Gawd, it's great to be back home again. Even after being back for 6 years, the 'newness' hasn't worn off. I came here with my dining companion, JH. He is not a native and on a visit to a Manayunk bar a few weeks ago, he complained that he still wanted to visit a 'Philly bar.' Always happy to please my friends, I suggested a Sunday dinner at Triangle. South Philly is my birthplace and childhood home. When we walked into this dark, noisy and friendly place, good memories and feelings came flooding back. The bar was busy and crowded but even without a reservation, we were warmly greeted and seated right away. Other than some vegan options, the menu listed nothing trendy, nouvelle, fusion, earth shaking or outre'. Fine by both of us. We each had a White Negroni for starters, and had my pockets been deeper and my work week not starting early the next day, I would have gone for at least 2 more of these. Bitter and delicious-we high fived each other for making such a fine drink choice. JH got lasagna, I got spaghetti and meatballs (tender ones, delicious ones!) and we settled into contented silence as we ate. The portions were just big enough to make us happily full. My friend decimated the whole bread basket as he sopped up his sauce. The waitress, who had a glorious sleeve of tattoos, was attentive, friendly and kept us in her sights. No room for dessert, though JH longingly eyed a large hunk of plated chocolate cake heading for someone's table as we left. Is this the best Italian food in town? Probably not, but for me, still feeling newly returned to the East coast and Philly, it was the best neighborhood bar/restaurant experience I've had so far and I will go back again and again for sure. read more
