Scott was professional, thorough, and friendly. He answered all questions and delivered a comprehensive report by later that same day. Can't ask for more than that. The only thing that would have been more helpful is to have seen items as they were examined (as I did at inspection of current house). Didn't change rating for that because it seems to be a COVID precaution. Highly recommend. : ) read more

Scott was terrific. He is very competent and knowledgeable . He has done two inspections for us and we were well pleased with his services. He was accommodating when our new house final inspection had to be moved to a later date due to the fact that the meters were not set yet. He sent his report that same day to make sure we had it for the next day's walk through. Highly recommend his services. read more

I recommend Scott Makseyn, owner of Home Helpers, Inc, for all my Buyers' home inspections. Scott is articulate, dependable, detail-oriented, provides inspection reports the same day, and is willing to discuss results in detail with my clients. And he stays calm, not being one to unnecessarily fan emotions and fear in clients. He uses photos well to demonstrate location of findings and meaning of the report. Scott also is a member of the Triangle MLS, so he is able to access homes for radon tests and also can proceed with an inspection if I am delayed. There are holes in the doors and this did not come up in the inspection report. The window in the 2nd floor bed room is not working properly and this was missing in the report too. The window does not close properly. Also the report does not say anything about the foundation inspected from the crawl space. So I don't know whether you inspected the foundation from the crawl space. If you can miss big holes on the door then how do I know whether the foundation was inspected. The electrical outlets were also not inspected in the house. I am not sure if all of them are working and are connected properly. The Heating and Cooling Systems were not inspected as well read more

We decided to have our driveway extended to the side of our garage with a pad for parking and extra vehicle. Got quotes from multiple contractors and Steve had the best price. Not only that, he was the friendliest and very responsive. The project was delayed a bit due to our own vacation plans and a communication oversight when the crew showed up the first time for the project (they didn't realize they had to demolish an old sidewalk and didn't have access to their dumptruck that day). No problem for us since we agreed up-front that we were flexible on the timing of the work and Steve could fit us in when he had room between larger projects. Steve was always responsive throughout the entire process and would email back within 1 day and text back immediately, whenever I reached out with questions or comments. The crew was very friendly, efficient, and did a great job (see the pics). They had to demolish a sidewalk, do some leveling to slope the driveway (slightly) to the back corner for drainage, move a sprinkler head, removed a medium-sized holly, pour the concrete, and the job site was left clean when finished. A good experience and we are very happy with the finished product. (it has rained multiple times and we have confirmed that the drainage flow is good, which was our biggest concern) Positives: Very friendly, great communication, competitive pricing, excellent work.
