The front desk Staff is always changing, they aren't polite, professional nor friendly. They have NOT been trained well, when I questioned about my bill, the girl could not calculate my adjusted price, No Supervisor was available to assist. When I talked to the Implant consultant, she said they wouldn't start any work until they received $4000 out of the $7000. A few months later after I had the deposit I returned and they started the work but my delay affected the original quote as I had waited too long. This hadn't been explained in the consult. Nice, now they have me set up to make more money! The Dr. was very explanatory until the Implant process was completed. He then seemed distant & perturbed ( maybe he was having a bad day?) I asked him why the bottom of my teeth were stained brown, he gave me the term for description, turned & walked away. No suggestions how to deal with it. I'm very disappointed. I had chipped a small piece off off my crown. I was hoping it could be repaired but they told me I would have to replace the entire crown for 10,000. I was pressured to make the appointment immediately even though I needed time to think about it. I had to put down a $300 deposit before I left the office. I realized a couple days before the appointment that I was not in the position to come up with that much money so soon. I called the day before the appointment to cancel and they told me I would not get back my $300. We're not talking $50 here. It's $300. That's a lot of money to throw out the window. I'm sure they were able to refill the appointment judging by how full the parking lot stays. I doubt that I caused them to lose any money. So when I do decide to get my crown, it will not be here. read more

Bit of a con job going on there. Just over a year before this recent visit, I had some X-rays and teeth work completed at Triangle Family Dentistry and was scheduled to get my teeth cleaned. I postponed back then and just got around to scheduling the cleaning. After waiting a couple of months, the other day, I went in. I've been around for a while and have been running my business since 1980. Of the 44 years in business, many years dealing with insurance claims. As soon as the exam drama started happening. Something tragic must have happened in my mouth this past 12 months or from my last visit. I was advised I had severe problems with my teeth and gums, I was told that "I would be responsible for $0, I knew I was used as a pawn for Triangle Family Dentistry to capitalize on getting the maximum amount for my career. Let me start out by saying that I tried really hard to like this place. The staff is really nice. The hygienists are knowledgeable and kind. They are just not reliable and it's too many days of missed work for us for these "scheduled" appointments to only have multiple appointments cancelled the day before or even the day of. I understand things happen but every time we have to reschedule, the procedure gets pushed out a month or 2 and have the same last minute cancellation from either the hygienist or the doctor. How does a practice this big not have a back up doctor or way to quickly resolve something like this? The last person that called us to inform me of the appointment cancellation said, "it's not common practice to cancel appointments last minute" yet my last 3 appointments were cancelled and rescheduled. Was having a bad day went I entered the dentist office for my semi annual cleaning. Susan kaylie, the hygienist came out to the lobby to greet me. She was very pleasant and cheerful. Which is something I needed at the time. She explained all the procedures and X-rays that I would undergo during my visit. I told her I was having a bad day but she quickly said well hopefully I will cheer u up by the end of the visit and bring u a little peace while u r here. She is really funny, chatty and knowledgeable. After the visit was over I was in a happier mood. She was right! She is a lovely person and for that small snippet of time in the dentist office Susan bought some cheer into my life. I told her I actually forgot about my horrible day while she was servicing my mouth. The work she did on my teeth was great. I have been coming to Triangle Family Dentistry since they opened (I think around 2011 or 2012). Anyway, they have always been very friendly and understanding. The dentists and hygienists have always worked together as a team to get the job done. The environment is clean and modern. My hygienist this time around was Anna and she was super sweet and knowledgeable. She did an awesome job with explaining answers to my concerns and how to fix them. I usually go to the Cary office, but I took my son here a few months ago. The hygienist was very nice & had so much patience with my son. The dentist was nice too. I wish that all of their locations could see the availability of the other offices though. That would have saved me some time in the scheduling process. I was referred to Triangle Family dentistry by a friend. The first time i went was just for a cleaning which was fine. I then needed a crown replaced and i was told first that i had to pay a $150 deposit before i even came to the appt. Then i was told when i arrived that i would have to pay $1200 before they even started the work. They would not even file with my insurance. My family and I have been patients for more than 10 years and the staff is just not as up to par the last few years. Every single appointment myself or my children have in the last 2 years has been rescheduled last minute (morning of appointments) due to their staff not verifying insurance properly or timely. I stopped going here after 3 years when it became a patient mill. Too impersonal for me, and there is absolutely NO CHANCE TO REASONABLY RESCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT if something ever takes your schedule off course. It's high maintenance with this place and they're more focused on keeping the mill churning than they are about accommodating patients. The Good: - Quality healthcare overall - State of the art equipment - Appointments start on time and finish on time The Bad: - Impersonal. You're just a number that follows the $ sign. No one, single dentist handles you. It's just a bunch of dentists that are there and float around from patient to patient. - Impossible to re-schedule an appointment within a similar time frame. You won't be able to find a slot for another month -- at least -- if you have to move an appointment. - The examination chairs are pretty uncomfortable. The rest of the place, equipment, and so on is state of the art, but the chairs are horrible. - They book your NEXT appointment BEFORE they start the work you come into the office for. I'm familiar with aggressive sales tactics, but they are way over the top with it IMO. It wasn't like this when I started going here, but I can tell it's something that the office manager makes the hygienists do. I guess I'm old school, but do the work first, and then we can talk about whether I'm coming back for more. read more

Dr. Kiefer and Laura are amazing!! They take care of the whole patient (...teeth too)! I was VERY nervous about a recent procedure (as we often are with anything other than a routine cleaning) and they both went above and beyond to make sure I was as comfortable as possible! Not to mention that their work was phenomenal!! Best. Team. Period. The entire Wake Forest team is the best that there is...no question. The staff are friendly, professional and trustworthy!! The office is bright and professional. Dr. Brown is also amazing when it comes to pediatric patients. On the day of 9/22, I drove 30 minutes there for my 4:00 appointment for myself and the 5:00 appointment for my son. I waited for about 15 minutes (4:15) and was told that my son's appointment is cancelled. I didn't get any phone call or voice message or text message saying that appointment is canceled and they even asked me to fill out the new patient form for my son. They have the system of texting me to confirm the appointment but they can't send one to tell me it's being cancelled? One older front desk lady was quite unfriendly when I told her they should have notified me so I didn't have to cancel work and being my 3-year toddler with me and I suggested him being seen first using my 4:00 appointment time since his dental appointment so far has only been 10 minutes or less and then I could continue my appointment because all I needed was a routine cleaning which normally doesn't take a whole hour. But they refused to work with me and the office manager said they won't take us as their patients anymore because I argued. Well I'm getting paid from work for the time I drove there and drove home even though I hated wasting time arguing with the rude front desk and the super rude office manager but if I'm not wrong they are the one losing money from losing two patients right? Next time if you want to say "we won't take you anymore. Go find another provider.", please understand it's a bad thing for the dentistry not for the patient. My family of four have been patients since 2018 and we've been meaning to change to a new dentist for years, but we get busy and before we know it our next appointment comes up and we stay out of convenience, which ironically turns into a huge hassle with each visit. The front desk staff are not trained well, and this has been consistent over the years. There seems to be a revolving door of staff and they apparently struggle to hire qualified candidates and train new employees. We've had countless issues and problems with this business - I've asked to have the manager call me on multiple occasions, most of the time I never hear back. The one time the manager actually called me back, she admitted the staff messed up, and unfortunately, we suffered the consequences of duplicate exams and unnecessary referrals, oops. They offered to apply a credit to our next appointment to make up for it. I agree with the reviews below that it is all about money for them, including sneaky ways to put money first, above quality of care for necessary procedures. I would scream from the mountaintops to avoid this place at all costs. I also had a dentist once who had her first day on the job with me, she had just graduated from dentist school and I was the first patient she ever worked on. She used poor hygiene with me which was my greatest concern. I understand new dentists have to start somewhere, but why is a brand like Triangle not hiring dentists with experience? I would also advise to not pay up front for anything, and question why treatments not covered by insurance are recommended. I agree again with the review below that says to talk to former employees and former patients, every time I mention Triangle Family Dentistry to others they gasp and tell me they got out of it and we should too! A few more examples.. once I showed up and they said oops we overbooked ourselves and we can't see you, sorry. They tell me this while I'm standing at the window, had taken time off work, and pulled my kids out of school for the appointment. There was nothing I could do other than reschedule. On multiple occasions I've showed up for an appointment and been turned away and asked to reschedule. They don't give me a courtesy call to not come in, I find out once I arrive. They also ask you to show up 15 minutes early but then they'll be in the back and not acknowledge that you've arrived until the time of your appointment. One of the three locations we have visited has a $70 cancellation fee which is again ironic considering they've canceled on me 5 times. It's just awful all around and I can't wait to find a new dentist and move on and not look back again at the terrible experiences we've consistently had since 2018. read more

I have been going to TFD since June of last year. I had a root canal back in June and another this week. Dr. Keiffer and Mary Jo Peoples are THE BEST. They both are so nice and sincere and caring. I made it known to the front staff the I only will come in for procedures if it is Tammy jo and Dr. Keiffer. I am terrified of dental procedures (especially the shots) but Tammy Jo holds my hand while Dr. Keiffer does what she needs to do, and they both explain everything that's going on, and are never annoyed by my endless questions, or if I need a break.. Today was my two year old daughters first dentist appointment. From the time we walked into Triangle Family Dentistry to the time we departed we had an amazing experience. The staff at the front desk was very informative of any task they were completing to get my daughter seen as soon as possible. (As you can imagine a 2 year old doesn't enjoy waiting) MS. SAM was purely phenomenal, patient and kind with my daughter. She did an amazing job of keeping her entertained, informed and most importantly happy. She showed her how each tool worked gently on her hand and then in her mouth prior to starting the cleaning. Dr. Slaczka mirrored the same extraordinary service. I don't normally write reviews, however for such a popular high rated place I must. I came here for the first time a week ago, and ended up needing fillings in three teeth. The overall quote process was fine, and the hygienist was nice, but once the finances and quotes left their hands it changed. The finance coordinator had me sign a form before my procedure and it was saying I would pay 105.70 once the procedure was done. When I was done and ready to pay she told me the total was 157.70 and wouldn't give me a valid reason as to why. The check out people and front desk workers are extremely rude and defensive. The second a question is asked as to "why" something is happening they instantly get defensive and form an attitude. Customer service skills are definitely lacking. Dr. Lee is great, so it really sucks for him that the place he works for doesn't care for their patients like he does. If you want to avoid random costs that aren't disclosed until you must pay them, like after a procedure, and if you want to avoid horrible customer service skills from the short finance coordinator woman and the young male at the front desk, then avoid Triangle Family Dentistry. read more

First, I'd like to say the the staff is always kind and helpful. BUT. They are constantly doing X-rays and procedures that are not covered by insurance, without informing me beforehand. At my last appointment I specifically requested to not have anything done that wasn't covered by insurance. They suggested a panoramic x-ray and said it would only be $9. I just got a bill for $54 for that x-ray. I also was told that I had a previous balance that had already been sent to collections, I was never notified of this balance before it was sent to collections. There's constant clerical errors being made at this office. I have other family members who go here and they're constantly mixing up our information, sending our bills to the wrong family member ( HIPAA violation?), and our phone numbers are always mixed despite having been corrected multiple times. The medical staff is wonderful but the office seems to need some serious work. read more

Attempted to schedule an appointment for emergency repair of a molar that is cracked. I sent them a picture via email and a description of the issue and how it occurred. I respectfully asked for an estimate on the cost of a crown and they refused to give me a ballpark estimate. Rather frustrating given my current living situation - homeless - and living on fixed income from veterans disability. I continue to be impressed by my service at this practice. Dr. Brown is my dentist and he's empathetic about any anxiety a patient has about dental work.
