Street parked and walked in to a nicely decorated spot which blasting Latino music and not very busy. Was seated quickly in on the booths and our drink orders were taken. I went with a simple lemonade and perused the menu. Decided on the Camerones à la Diabla. The chips and salsa were brought while we waited for the meals. Salsa was fresh but the whole stems from the cilantro and the lack of salt just made this not a great salsa. My dish came out pretty quickly and now came the real disappointment. Overall the dish lacked seasoning and I have once again lost my shaker of salt! The shrimp was spicy but it was in a sweet tomato based sauce which just became overwhelmingly one note as you ate it. Rice was nicely cooked but lacked seasoning. Refried beans were kind runny and also lacked any noticeable seasoning. The guacamole was good and fresh and definitely helped with the building spicyness and sweetness from the shrimp. Service was good, though was not offered a refill on my drink. Overall, would not return as there are too many good Mexican food restaurants in the area.

I unfortunately wouldn't come back after this because the food was rough across the board. Seats have some holes and rips in them and there's better places to spend your money. I feel like you should be able to pick up tacos.

Today the place seemed a bit slow so maybe they didn't have the need to have a fresh batch constantly being made. Regardless they were acceptable and the salsa was good. I ordered the Pescado Azteca. Came out quickly and nice and hot! Kudos for not making the dish swimming in cheese sauce! Just enough to mix with the shrimp and veggies with a little bit to flavor the already seasoned white fish. Fish was a little bit dry, but the fresh veggies and shrimp livened it up. Mexican rice was good, could use a little more seasoning in my opinion but overall a well made rice. Overall a good experience and happy that I was not auto-tipped on the bill. Though that practice has not stopped and I witnessed the table next door deal with that situation. I'm happy to get my fix for Mexican food here and hoping the service remains top notch!

The menu proudly advertised a variety of margaritas, which initially felt promising on a Friday. SOLD! That optimism was short-lived. Parking technically exists, but the lot is so narrow it feels more like a trust exercise. Drive straight or prepare to exchange insurance information. We were seated quickly, which was great. Unfortunately, the booth area we were placed in was very dark--white text on a pink background in low lighting is certainly... a choice. Vision test unlocked. Our waiter? Service was present but forgettable. No name, no personality, no guidance. We weren't informed about the lunch menu until after our food arrived--because it was never mentioned. No recommendations, no upsell, no effort to engage. Prices leaned high, which would've been acceptable if the food had arrived hot. Instead, everything landed in that awkward lukewarm zone as if it had been sitting patiently, waiting for us to lower our expectations. The drinks were... confusing. My friend and I ordered the same margarita. Hers arrived a deep purple sangria-adjacent color. Mine came out pale and peach-toned. Same drink, allegedly. Consistency was not invited to the party. We weren't rushing--this was a rare chance to catch up. We ordered multiple margaritas, an appetizer, and entrées. Despite this, the server made it very clear that our continued presence was inconvenient. This was apparently unacceptable. Our waiter made it very clear he was not into us hanging around. Overall: atmosphere was decent, but the vibe wasn't friendly or particularly welcoming. Between the inconsistent drinks, lukewarm food, and the "please leave" energy, this one missed the mark entirely.

I had to travel up to Massachusetts on Monday and I was quite disappointed with the lack of a New England accent on anyone. We used to be a proper country. In any event, on Monday, I went to Mexica Burrito Grill. I met a man, on the line in front of me who insisted this place was good. I was skeptical because, I don't know this guy and why was he being so friendly? I ignored the warning signs and assumed he may be correct as he too was a husky gentleman. I ordered a burrito bowl with carnitas. I told them to include the rice and beans, because a man needs fuel that sticks to the ribs, along with double carnitas, cheese, and nothing else that sounded like it belonged in a rabbit's lunch. No vegetables, no salsa, no cilantro trying to ruin a perfectly good meal. They delivered. The carnitas were delish, properly seared, and tasted like actual pork that had been treated with respect (salt, heat, and time). The rice and beans did their job, simple, hearty, and not pretending to be anything fancy. No lectures about "fresh ingredients" or where the avocado came from. No one cares, Chad. Just a solid bowl of meat and starch, which is how God intended bowls to be used. I ate it back at the hotel with a black coffee and a pocketknife for portion control. Felt like I could split logs afterward. This is acceptable food. I may return. Highly recommended for men who understand that beef or pork are staples, with enough rice and beans to keep the machine running.

During her last visit, I took…read moreher to a place that had good fried fish, but she mentioned that she wished it had been served with tostones (fried plantains) like they do in the Dominican Republic. Later, I remembered that I had visited Tekila's before COVID and that someone in my party had ordered fried fish with tostones. I decided this would be the perfect place to bring her. The restaurant is conveniently located right off the highway and has ample parking. When we walked in at 6:00 PM, we were surprised to find the place completely empty. I wondered if I had misread their hours, but a staff member soon came out, informed us they were open, and told us we could sit wherever we liked. One of the first things that stood out to me was that, although the restaurant advertises authentic Mexican cuisine with a Caribbean twist, the atmosphere felt more Dominican than Mexican. From the large poster featuring famous Dominicans to the overall vibe, I assumed that was the "Caribbean twist." I also noticed that roughly one-fifth of the restaurant was occupied by band equipment and a stage. When I asked our server about it, she explained that the owner is a musician and has a band that performs there a couple of nights each week. At that point, I began to think the restaurant's primary focus might be more of a bar or nightlife crowd. To start, we ordered a house margarita and a beer. Both were refreshing on a hot day. Looking over the menu, I was pleased to see three fish dishes named after places in the Dominican Republic, so I thought we were in for a treat. My mother ordered the Pescado Boca Chica, described as fried snapper served with tostones and salad. I chose the Pescado Samaná, named after an area in the Dominican Republic known for its coconut-based sauces. I also asked about the rice and beans and was told they were prepared Dominican-style. When our meals arrived, I was surprised by the portion sizes. The fish did not look particularly large, even though my mother's fish was listed on the bill as a large portion for $34.99. It also didn't have any salad dressing. My own dish appeared sad-looking, and at $36.99, I found it overpriced. The coconut sauce was decent, but I wouldn't call it delicious. The side dishes were also quite small. Overall, the food tasted okay, but for a total of $100.56 before tip, I did not feel it offered good value. The service was good, and we tipped 20% based on the total bill. I should also note that the house margarita was listed on the menu at $12, but I was charged $15. I chose not to mention it to the server and simply let it go. When I asked my mother how she would rate the experience, she gave it a 2 out of 5. I'm giving it a 3 out of 5 because there were some positive aspects, including the cleanliness of the place and service. However, the food and pricing did not justify a return visit for me.
