Stay far away from this dealer. They are very dishonest. This past week I stopped in to look at…read morepop-ups. They had a used 2001 Coleman with all the bells and whistles for $3,500. This was the only pop-up they had. I expected it to be in pretty bad shape with it being 12 years old, but from the outside it looked very nice. The inside was in very good shape as well. I informed them that I was interested, but needed to talk with my husband first. After I spoke with my husband, we decided to go ahead with purchasing the pop up. I called R&S the same day and told them that I was coming back in about 2 hours to buy it as long as everything checked out okay. I asked that they set it up, turn the gas on, and put some water in so I can ensure everything worked. The man on the phone flat out told me he would not do any of this. His excuse was that it might rain and I may not even show up. This was red flag number one, which I mistakenly ignored. I took $4,000 out of my bank account in cash and drove the 1.5 hours back to R&S to buy the trailer. When I arrived, they had actually pulled it into the garage and had it set up. However, they still refused to let me check the function of the stove and water tank/pump. They kept telling me the previous owner had never used the pop-up. That may be true, but that doesn't mean the previous owner of 9 plus years didn't take it out every weekend and use it. They fed me more BS by saying that everything on the pop worked great. But in reality, they had zero knowledge on what worked on the camper as it had just arrived on the lot the day before. Nothing on the camper had been checked out yet by R&S. So they expected me to buy the pop up with knowing if anything worked, which would be like buying a used car without turning it on or testing driving it. No one in their right mind would do that. At this point I was pretty ticked. It was ridiculous. There was no customer service. The older sales women acted like a clueless idiot and would not take responsibility for anything. The older man was a chauvinistic pig that assumed because I was a women I didn't have half a brain in my head. I probably did jump a bit to quick into the decision that I wanted to buy, but my smarts prevented me from making a big mistake in the end. They were not going to waste any of their time until I handed them the 3500 bucks. Luckily I found a large crack/hole in the plastic on the front of the pop up. It was clearly big enough that water would leak in when it rained. I took a look under the trailer and what do you know 1/4 of the floor was rotted away. I could stick my entire finger through the floor and chunks of it crumbled in my hand. Once I found the damage, all the sales people disappeared. They didn't want anything to do with me anymore. I pretended I was still interested even after I found the hole to see if they would come down in price and to see how they would react to me now that I caught them in several lies. They said they would need to contact the owner about coming down in price (more BS). They took my name and number so they could call me back. Surprise, surprise they never called. That was final straw that made my decision to write a review about them. I normally don't waste my time with such things, but I want to prevent other people from getting screwed over by them. Thankfully I only lost 6 hours of my Friday and nothing more. I feel sorry for the poor sole who is going to get conned into buying that pop up with a rotted, moldy floor. Everything happens for a reason though as I have found a 3 year old Jayco (much better brand then Coleman) for under 5,000 in Maroa. Oh R&S.... if only you had played your hand differently. I plan on smearing your name on every RV website I can find.
