We were traveling across country and at our last overnight my husband ran into a tree a took off a small top edge of the roof. Afraid it would rain we pulled into Cheyennes camping to see how bad it was and what could be done. Nick Teachout came right out and got up on that roof looked over and pointed out there was something else going on with the roof than what we did. He took pictures sent us an inspection receipt and sent another gentleman up to do a temporary repair till we could get back. They were very professional as well as helpful. I shopped around a lot, and Cheyenne Camping Center consistently came up as the best price on the Wolf Pup travel trailer that I wanted. I live in San Diego, California, and after some calculations, I found that I could fly to Chicago, rent a truck, drive to Iowa, and then back to San Diego with my new trailer. The Cheyenne staff were totally on board with my plan (seems customers do this kind of thing all the time) and helped in many ways to make sure the paperwork was mostly done before my arrival. I was ready to just get it and go, but they wanted me to inspect the trailer and teach me a bunch of stuff about it. They also threw in a lot of extras like a power cord, power adapter, sewer hose, full take of propane, winterized water system (it was December), etc. While I was in finishing up paperwork in the office, they were connecting up the trailer and making sure the brake controller was properly adjusted, and the tongue height was right (the tongue I brought was too tall, and they apologized that they needed to suggest that I buy an appropriate one from them). They were super-courteous and it felt like they were treating me like a friend rather than a customer. By the end, a bottle of champagne was presented to congratulate me on my trailer purchase. Who does that?! In the end, even after the expense of an airline ticket, truck rental, and gas, I saved over $4000 compared to the California price. And Cheyenne made it a great experience. I recommend Cheyenne wholeheartedly to friends and coworkers all the time, because the experience, customer service, and the price was so good. read more

Absolute worst experience of our lives. We special ordered a truck camper through Cheyenne Camping Center in December, and have been consistently treated throughout our sales process as though our sale is inconsequential to their business. We have been mislead, lied to, and disrespected every step of the way. Ultimately, we were told that our camper had arrived when it had actually been in an accident during delivery. We were notified of the damage one business day before we were set to arrive from 800 miles away. They were unwilling to follow through on any reparations for our time or money. We have referred Cheyenne Camping Center to the BBB and FTC for their business practices - including holding a large sum cash deposit for an extended period of time, and being unwilling to fulfill their end of the agreement. read more

I highly recommend Cheyenne Camping Center. We had a great experience purchasing our camper with John Watkins there. We had already narrowed down our search to one camper, and I found that Cheyenne had them at a great discount. At first, I thought it might be a marketing ploy as the discount was much better than any other RV dealer, but it was legit. We even drove out from Colorado to pick our camper up as it was such a great price for a new camper. We previously checked out used 2017 and 2020 models of this camper at another dealer in Colorado at a higher price than the brand new 2021 model at Cheyenne. I was somewhat uneasy about traveling so far to purchase a camper, but John was very clear, straightforward, and helpful with getting things in order. It was actually a very easy and smooth process and it was absolutely worth the drive. As far as the pickup process, John, Roy, and Dave were thorough, patient, and helpful. Even on a holiday weekend, we didn't feel rushed and they took their time walking us through the features of the camper. In 2008 we purchased a new 25 foot 5th wheel from Cheyenne Camping Center and had it delivered to our home in Washington state. We loved the 5th wheel and were extremely impressed with the company over the years, every single time we contacted them. Sadly our Puma was totalled in September of 2020 during a windstorm while we were camping in Idaho. We called Cheyenne and worked with Kevin Frazer to purchase our 2021 Palamino Puma. This being my first camper I did hours of looking locally and on the internet. I happened to find a camper I liked on eBay at an exception price and sent a message. That was three weeks ago and I picked up the camper yesterday after a 4.5 hour drive but it was beyond worth it. If you are thinking about buying from Cheyenne, DO IT! John the salesman was so easy to work with through email and always responded at light speed. When I actually meet him yesterday it's like we had meet before, his positive energy separates him from the standard "salesman". Give him a chance on financing as well as he was able to beat my local credit union. As stated above this is my first camper and I was quite nervous about knowing all the things. Well that went out the door when the service tech Dave took close to 2 hours to walk me through everything from the bathroom ceiling fan to maintaining the water heater. He answered every question I had and never made me feel like I was bothering him. You could tell he took pride in his job and where he worked. From the first phone call to picking up our 2021 Grey Wolf travel traveler it was a great experience. My husband and I drove almost 950 miles from Maryland. We had an awesome sales person named Susie she was helpful with the whole process. She was friendly and very patient with answering any questions or concerns about buy a travel trail from so far from our home. We tried to purchase the same trailer from a local dealer and the prices was 7K more and that did not include all the hidden fees. We offered to pay what Cheyenne was going to charge us and they told us "there is no way we could buy a trailer for that price. " They would not budge on the price. Wow, what a great business! We drove four hours to look at the trailer we wanted. Cheyenne was $3,000 cheaper than any dealer near us. They told us a price for the trailer in January, said they would call us when it was in. Called us in March and we picked it up in April. It was the price quoted, no increases, no doc fees, no prep fees. And all this was done with a handshake in January, didn't sign anything, didn't put any money down. They said that is just how they operate-on trust! Everything along the way was just as they said with no hassles or changes. Highly recommend Cheyenne Camping Center! I purchased a Flagstaff E-Pro Trailer from Cheyenne Camping Center in April, 2022. All the staff at Cheyenne, from my Salesman, John Watkins, to Chad Miller, Parts Manager, to John Dodge (sp?), another John, and Jimmy (in Dealer prep & orientation), Zach (assisting with information about the Solar Power Package), and others - were super-helpful, welcoming, and more. I had some wariness about purchasing out-of-state (I live in CO), but the price at CCC could not be beat, by notable margins; I was also fortunate to purchase a unit with Flagstaff's 'Power Package' and am thoroughly enjoying it. Along with John Watkin's help, the prep folks installed a Trailer Hitch and a Furrion camera I had purchased elsewhere at no-charge; they also installed a Jack-It Bike Rack purchased at CCC at no-charge. I bought my travel trailer through them and had it delivered so I didn't even see it till I picked it up. Was pleased with the whole process and was glad to have a trailer show up after I had sent them my money. I'd buy from them again however if there are any features that are important to you be sure to get those in writing on the contract. After we bought ours we discovered the holding tanks were half the size as stated. I don't blame the dealership as it was the manufacturer that changed the specs and didn't tell anybody. The manufacturer even kept the wrong specs up for a month or two after we found they had changed it. Imported it into Canada with very little trouble. Currently have it in for service before my one year is up. They seem to be looking after all my requests. read more

We spent a long time deciding where we were going to purchase our next RV. Most of the local places were very overpriced and the salespeople were poorly informed on the models/features, and were sometimes rude. We heard about Cheyenne Camping Center (CCC) online and read a lot of great reviews. CCC prices could not be beat, I was not looking forward to driving all the way to Iowa, so I tried my best to find someone closer that could come anywhere near the price, nobody could even come close.We decided to make a vacation of it and drove to Iowa to get our new RV. Upon arriving we were immediately greeted and treated to an extensive indoor demonstration of our RV. The staff was wonderful and helped to show us how to hook the RV to our vehicle and answered every question we could throw at them. I never imagined this great service when we were paying way lower than any other dealer we could find. The RV iteself was better than expected. The quality was great for the price, much better than trailers we looked at that were double the price. We did have a blowout with one of the tires a couple weeks after purchasing, and even though the specific item was not covered under the normal warranty, CCC immediately sent us a new tire and rim. I cannot say enough about how happy we are with CCC. I have and will continue to tell everyone I know that the only place to buy an RV is Cheyenne Camping Center in Wolcott, IA. read more

We decided on a camper and then when we came to sign and pick up... my hubby found another he liked better. John Watkins was so patient with us and helped us with the right camper. The communication through the whole thing was great. Before you take your camper home: it's cleaned outside and inside: you do an approval walk through: a service guy will explain everything: then they get your truck keys to hook up and pull up for you! we travelled a great distance because kevin frazer made promises to help and went out of his way, which was all a facade, i noticed a strong offensive odor and when questioning the worker who showed us the interior he blatantly lied saying it was that "new car smell and would go away within a day". it was loaded with formaldehyde as well as motor defects from kevins staffs lack of care or concern it was in mechanical shop for 2 months...kevins staff as well as forest river kept refusing to accept responsibility to fix it, i have health issues. when i called kevin pleading for him to take back the camper he yelled at me and hung up on me. he not only deserves to be shut down, he deserves jail time for lying and stealing. i lost over $10,000 having to sell it myself. read more

I walked around this store for over an hour before anyone said hello to me, or tried to help me. After I was able to finally get someone's attention he told me he would grab me a sales person. After a few minutes a sales person came out and answered one of my questions, but couldn't answer 3 of the other questions I had for him. He said he was going to head inside to get answer for me, and I was fine with that. I would rather not be lied to about the product. I waited outside for 30 minutes in the trailer waiting, and it was incredibly cold. I walked back in to the see the sale person I was talking to sitting at his desk on the computer. I was thinking he was looking for the answers online, but saw he was just scrolling on facebook. What a complete disappointment. I asked him if he had answers for me to the questions, and he told me he couldn't get the answers to the size of the tanks on the Puma I was looking at. I walked out and went to camping world. I will NEVER be back to this place. What a waste of time. I took my business elsewhere. read more

Horrible customer service! We bought a travel trailer from them 3 months ago and we thought we had a good deal, but the quality was not all that great! There are several leaks under the sinks already, the doors stick, one vent already broke and worst of all, our salesperson Matt Kaker did not tell us that our camper did not come with a spare tire. We drove to Big Bend, in the middle of nowhere not knowing this. When we called the parts department, since Matt was never "available", they shipped us out a tire to Big Bend. When I called them back a few days later, the parts guy told us that Matt canceled the shipment and that if we wanted a tire we needed to pay for it since we did not ask for it and therefore it was not in the contract. WOW! He NEVER mentioned the tire and we just assumed that it came with one, like most vehicles! I even went as far as speaking with the supervisor and he basically did not care either and did offer to google tire locations in my area...LOL, yah I think I can handle that on my own, thanks! Now I need to use my "warranty" to fix the broken items, we will see what sort of nightmare that will be! Never again will I use, or recommend these people! read more
