Upon attempting to return the items, I was told they had to be returned to the store within 48 hours. When I called Lowes customer service after leaving the store, I was told that I had 30 days to return if the items were unopened and factory sealed, which mine were. I then went to the Clemson store by my house and was also told they would not return the items due to the 48-hour policy. A couple of days later, I called another customer service representative to confirm my ability to return the items and they confirmed, so I went back to the Clemson store, and was again told they would not return them. When I showed them an image of their return policy, I was accused of creating a fake AI image. I asked them to call customer service and confirm the policy or look it up online, but they refused. Today 2/14, after no calls from Lowes I called again and was told yes, I had 30 days to return the items. After several holds, I was then told the stores had the ability to set their own policy, so there was nothing they could do. I don't understand how a company can have a policy posted online and then refuse to honor that policy. Moreover, there is no confirmation of the policy when purchasing the items. How is the consumer supposed to know what the policy is if it is going to not be consistently enforced? It's clear Lowes created this temporary policy due to the storm event and misled not only me, but many other customers. Be very careful when buying any large items from Lowes because the stores clearly have the ability to ignore the company's posted online policies.

Ordered a patio dining set from the Hartwell Home Depot with same-day delivery…read more Waited all day. Nothing. Then learned the delivery plan was apparently DoorDash picking up a full patio set that requires a pickup truck... except nobody knew who was actually delivering it. Eventually had to cancel the order. For anyone curious how the process went, here's the story: The Patio Set That Never Came I ordered a patio set Tuesday at noon, Imagining dinner outside very soon. "Same-day delivery!" the website did say-- So I waited and waited the rest of the day. I waited till six... I waited till eight... But my chairs and my table were running quite late. Then ding! went my phone with a cheerful delay: "Your order's postponed until Thursday. Okay!" From six until eight you must stay home and see, Your patio set will arrive--possibly. So Thursday I watched every truck rolling by: A van, then a pickup, then some other guy. But none had my table, my chairs, or my stuff-- Apparently waiting is never enough. I called Hartwell Home Depot and asked with dread, "Where is my patio set?" politely I said. "Oh! DoorDash must pick it up first," she replied. "They haven't come by yet... though certainly they tried." "DoorDash?" I said. "For a patio set?!" "Yes sir," she said calmly. "Not delivered yet." "They'll need a pickup to carry the load-- So maybe tomorrow it'll get on the road." On Friday I called just to ask them once more: "Who's bringing my furniture out to my door?" She said with a pause that lasted a beat: "We don't know the company that'll bring your seat." That's when I canceled with dignified grace-- No table, no chairs, no porch dining space. And somewhere out there, who knows where it's at-- A DoorDash driver is Googling: "How to deliver patio set?" The Home Depot @HomeDepot
