I was in need of having glass replaced on a photo of mine that was very dear and Norman did a really nice job. He is very Meticulous in every detail. Cares deeply about he's work.

Red and gold inner lining to match my school colors and special glass to protect the document. Norm can tell you all the technical stuff!

After spending three years in Grad School for two degrees, I decided they both needed a nice frame to preserve and display them. Knowing nothing about framing or the Modesto area I spent a lot of time on Google/Yelp reading reviews of large chain stores, I found Norm's Frame Shop on the list and the reviews raves about his extensive knowledge and attention to detail. On my first visit, Norm was extremely welcoming and not pretentious about his work- he explained to me what he thought I needed and how he would choose materials that would ensure the longevity of my documents. He was extremely communicative and found ways to work within my budget. Norm is such a great business man, who cares a lot about his work and about his customers. We never were able to finish my second diploma because time got away from me and I was moved to Memphis for work. Still, Norm shares notes with me to give to my next framer so they can complete the Job. I don't know if I'll find another framer as good as Norm, but I'm so happy I own one of his pieces.

AVA GARDENER framed by Norm @ Trewin

I couldn't get home fast enough to write my review of Trewin Framery in Modesto, California.Norm the owner is a true master of the art of framing pictures. I brought in a rather rare photo of Ava Gardener from the 50's and Norm created something I will always cherish. From an Italian handmade mother of pearl inlay frame to a perfectly colored mat that really made the photo pop, I actually had to take a few steps back when first I saw it completed. It is beyond stunning. Breathtaking. Don't be dissuaded by the amount of time it may take Norm to complete the work. Trust me, it is WORTH IT. One of the most precious things I own. Thank you Norm, you are incredible and I will never go anywhere else!

    The finished product. Love it!

I came in with an irreplaceable poster that happen water damaged. I didn't expect much could be done I thought I should try anyway. Norm took the time to reassure me that it was fixable and help me pick out the right frame and matting for it. When he put everything together he realized that it didn't work and made new suggestions. I'm glad he did because the end result is fantastic. It is obvious that he put in a lot of time and effort to make sure that this poster was restored and framed perfectly. I'm so glad I went to see him and will definitely go to him for all my future framing needs

At the beginning of Summer 2019 I needed some pictures framed. I came across some pretty good reviews for a hole-in-the-wall framing store (it's literally located within a larger flooring store) so I decided to give it a try. The old "quality or quantity" adage could not fit this business any better. Norman Ham (owner) has over 30+ years experience and I never would have imagined all that goes into a single framing job. And it's not just the physical work, he has an extremely keen artistic eye. With a majority of our conversations we saw eye-to-eye (no pun intended) with regards to color, composition and style. His years of experience can offer up suggestions or recommendations you would have thought of. There are A LOT of high end lithographs, prints & photos in his shop awaiting their frame. He takes immense pride in the work he does as he understands that every single person that walks into your home is going to see his work. You can go to a "big store" and pay less to frame a picture but all you have to do is simply pick up and hold one of Norm's framing jobs and you can immediately tell it is quality work. I highly recommend Norm at Trewin Framery.

Absolutely stunning job. Norm is a true artist and the finished work speaks for itself. The process was very personal and took a couple weeks. He is very busy so make sure you follow up a few times to make sure things are on track.

If you have that special art piece you're needing to frame, Norman Ham with Trewin Framery is the man you want to do the job. Give him your ideas on what you'd like and he truly has an eye for what's needed to enhance any picture. He is very professional, knowledgeable and enjoys his work. It's important to him that you are happy, which I was very happy with how beautiful and detailed to perfection he made my art piece. Everything that needed to be done to preserve the art he went over with me, so that I'll be able to cherish this piece forever. You can trust that Norm will make your artwork look very special just like mine. Thank you so much Norm, It looks amazing!!

5/5, great work! Cat ruined the mat board. Norm was really great about replacing it, while staying true to the original look.

My sister bought this Korean wall art for my daughter's nursery. Unfortunately, my cat ruined the mat board while it was in storage. Norm went above and beyond to replace the damaged bits with material that stayed true to original look. He even found a new supplier and ordered a piece of silk we never used in the end product. What mattered to him was that I loved what I was paying for. He is very friendly and a lot of fun to talk to. I'll be going back to frame my daughter's baby photos. I highly recommend him for any work you need done.

Great experience. Norm took a poster and playbill and turned them into a beautiful piece of art my daughter will have forever to remember our special trip to the theater. Thanks for all the love and time you put into it.

Now, everytime we're here we always go straight to the aisle those kits are located in. We know our purpose and we stick to it. Until one day, I strayed away and decided to explore the other aisles and boy that was a huge mistake. I ended up with a cart full of mostly Hello Kitty stuff, sewing things and anything that I thought I needed (even if there's really need for it). I love that this place is a crafter, hobbyist and anything in between's paradise. I can get most of the thing here that I want and actually save money. My only complaint is that it can be hard at times to find associates that work here if you needed something locked to be opened or if you have any questions needed some answers. But other than that, this place can be the death of my bank account (ToT) and at the same time my paradise(^.^)

The store looked well organized for the most part and they did not seem to be understaffed in any way. There were many employees around, but not one of them greeted us or even looked at us as we passed them. I even went into the picture frame area because I had a photo print that I was thinking about having matted and framed, but the gentleman behind the counter was laser focused on his computer screen, he did not even bother to look up. I looked around at the merchandise in this area for a bit longer and then proceeded to browse other areas, where we also encountered more employees who were too busy (not helping others) to look in our direction or acknowledge us. The planner that I came for was no where to be found even though the online information told me that it was in stock at this location(it even told us which aisle). I did not bother to approach any of the employees to ask for anything because they all seemed pretty unapproachable, and the opposite of friendly or ready to assist. I found a different planner that I felt would suffice. My daughter found a bunch of yarn skeins that she liked for a crochet project, and then we made our way to check out. The woman who was checking us out sarcastically and abruptly stated "Ya got a planner, now your life's gonna be perfectly organized" as she scanned it and placed it in a bag. She was bitter about something, and that was obvious, but why would she bring that to work? I awkwardly attempted to laugh, my daughter pinched me, and then I just thanked her and we left. We should have spent at least double what we spent, but nobody wanted to help us spend our money. It's too bad. I don't know why, but it seems that this Michaels has a dark cloud over it or something, because the folks who work here absolutely hate their jobs and it really shows.
