My dad had an old map of French Camp from when it was being initially developed. His family was a big part of that and this map hand been handed down a few times. The edges were very fragile and it map already had several small tears. I went to Frugal Frames expecting to be told it was impossible, but they handled everything with such care and attention, and were able to preserve the map beautifully in a custom frame. My go-to place for framing! The owner is awesome and obviously takes pride in what he does. I've had probably a dozen different pictures framed here and absolutely love all of them. The framing options are wide and varied. You can have anything framed even on a tight budget, as well. Although this never happens for me, I tried the premium museum glass on some of my earlier pieces he framed and have been unable to use anything else. Regardless, great owner! Great work! I had purchased a piece of loft art from Art.com. The size is 84x48. Unbeknownst to me, it came in a roll with wood framing, some instructions on how to stretch the canvas and a few pieces of hardware to put it together. I had no idea what to do with this, then I was referred to George at Frugal Frames. When I arrived he initially looked at me like "what is this?!" And told me he had never seen anything like this and felt he could do a better job building his own frame. He is a very well respected framer in the area, so even though it would cost me more, I trusted his advice. Well, then quarantine for Covid-19 came around and I figured he would call me when it was over. Today, George called to let me know, not only did he finish the piece, he figured out how to use the stretcher frame and all the other items that came with it and saved me $100.00 on the project! Then we came by to take our art home and could not fit it in to our SUV, he then offered to bring it To our office! Of course we paid him but especially right now, who would do that?? He had all the safety guidelines in place, kept a safe distance, offered sanitizer and his business was closed. He even had us sanitize on our way out. I brought an A's flag in earlier this year, maybe late last year, to be framed. In all, it has close to 200 autographs on it. Cost was very reasonable. Michael's wanted over $1000, even after a "discount" of about 60 percent. Very pleased with the service and finished product. Went to see George after reading the reviews oh Yelp. When I got there he greeted me and and gave me the best customer service ever. Went there to get 2 diplomas framed and George helped me to make the diplomas stand out in the frame. When he gave me the bill I was amazed on the price that it was very reasonable. He gave me discounts and upgrades to the diplomas that he was framing that made me very happy. When I went to pick up the frames I was very pleased with the work and the extra upgrades he included for the glass he used. I will be going back to have more work done with George. This frame shop is everything you could ask for in a frame shop. The owner (& his father) is very nice and really truly seems to want you to be happy with your frame. They offer their opinion, make recommendations but don't force you into it. They have a very large selection which is nice so you don't end up with an everyday frame you could get from the department store. I stopped this month to get a quote on a picture and frame . Before I got to that I saw a picture of a piano up front. On the back was a sale price tag of 15.00. The paper was torn so I thought that was fair. When I asked the owner about it he looked surprised and said "oh it shouldn't be sold at that price , I need to double it to make a profit. I pointed out that retail owners usually sell the item at the price they mark it for even if it was in error. He said no. I left. So for $15.00 potential profit ,he lost my business and I had several large pictures to reframe. read more
