This place has been an absolute nightmare. She has held my sons letterman jacket for over two years, ignored phone calls, and constantly put us off. We finally just showed up and took the jacket, even though it's STILL not done because he's now a senior with senior pictures next week and he's never even got to wear it! Nope..they are still in business. I actually like them! Nice small family business, run by the owners and family. I actually look forward to placing orders. The only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is that they don't necessarily have 'speedy' service. Usually they give me a 'date to pick up by' but its usually a day or two after that. I don't mind. So far the quality of their work is reasonable and good quality. I have gone to another business like this in Lodi and HATED it. There customer service was dismal. Monogram Magic to me is a hidden gem in Manteca. I will continue to bring business to them. I definately won't do the online screen printing like Vista Print or other places that the prices are too good to be true....even if its a fraction of the price---its all done in china. Beware of that online. Stick to local! Why not support a local business that helps the Manteca community and beyond in? To me good customer service. They deserve no stars!!!! Let's just say that they may lock the doors (on their so called 3 open days), let calls go unanswered without returning them and not monogram your items at all much less in the time frame they promise. I had my things there for over a month and was given one excuse after another as to why they couldn't get to them. First they had electrical problems, then they were re-arranging the shop and then there was a family emergency. I only needed 4 letters put on two separate items which was promised within 2 weeks. When I finally tracked them down, through another business close by, I was met with extreme attitude and name calling from the owner/older lady with short hair. My things had NOT been touched and were dug out of a very large box (under many other items) in which the retail bag my things were in had been all torn up. Keep in mind, I purchased these items and dropped them off right away to be monogrammed so no reason for bag to be ripped. I would recommend going to another monogram place, even if it's out of town, if you want your things done in a timely manner or at all. These people are extremely rude and need to be closed down!!!! I see and have heard lots of complaints about this place, but our personal experience was anything but bad!! From day one of order everyone was friendly and went above and BEYOND to customize an amazing letterman jacket for our son. Our son was very clear and decided how he wanted it and she checked with him every step of the way. Her mom ( may she Rest In Peace ) was always helpful and full of advice when he was choosing his design. Through out the next two years he would drop off his jacket with more patches and embroidery needed and was always completed in a timely manner or even rushed for us for Senior pics and was exceptional quality at all times!! We wouldn't take his jacket anywhere else!! read more

She had Sebastian's jacket since November. Communication was horrible. Text, DMs, voicemails. Was told that she was "finishing it up" but still didn't get jacket for another two months. She would tell me that she sent over pictures to be approved and when I asked her where she sent them because I never received them she never responded. When I finally told her I would just pick up the jacket I ran into her at target and was like " uhhhm I left you a voice mail" all of a sudden jacket was getting worked on immediately and they called me and told me that jacket would be ready that Monday. It ended up being another 2 weeks! Letterman jackets are expensive and I was hoping to get two winter seasons of my junior to wear his jacket. Unfortunately I got it this week and the weather is now warm. I will say that the work was good. That's why she got the 3 stars. But communication and turn around were horrible. After all this she charged me $275 to do the work. At this point I just wanted my sons jacket. I will never again use this place, and encourage everyone I know to do the same. I was warned by several people NOT to use Monogram Magic because they took too long, had poor communication with customers and were pricey. However, I didn't listen and after checking with a few placed decided to purchase my son's Letterman jacket there. When we went in (in late Oct) and told the woman what we wanted, including a semi-custom picture on the back, we were assured that the jacket would be finished just after Thanksgiving (3 weeks later). We told her what we wanted, explained the custom design desired and informed her that early Dec would be fine. Being a football player of a team that was likely to go to sections, she assured us that we could add the additional patches at no cost and that if we wanted to add his number, it would be $5/number ($10 total). We got her the quote for the back as promised within two weeks as she requested but did not have the proof of the back design as she said she would. After numerous visits and calls by my son, the jacket still hadn't arrived when she said it wouldn't be ready until well into Dec. I emailed her, reminding her of what she'd said and the dates she'd agreed to and the next day, we had a proof of the back (late and wrong.) We corrected it and the jacket was ready by the date promised after all. Fast forward to January when my son received the final patch to be added to his jacket (after going to state they had to be sent to the coaches) and he took the jacket in to have them added, along with his humber. She informed him it would cost $25 for all the patches including his numbers. A week later, he went to pick up his jacket and was informed that it would be $65 and that the offer to put the patches on at no charge was only for a "limited time." DO NOT USE MONOGRAM MAGIC! While the work is beautiful (can't fault that) but it's a complete bait/switch game she plays. We will never use them again. I wish I would have listened to the other poor reviews and the people I know personally who had trouble getting their items on time. Next Letterman jacket we order will be from ANYONE else! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My fiancé went in to get my jacket monogrammed with my new title as a graduation present, and the lady was nothing but rude and disrespectful. At first she told him it would be done in a week. It was not. In the time span of a month, he has been calling and went in three times, nothing but the run around. "Oh I've been busy" "oh I have other orders". Welp that's business, you will always have other orders but apparently our business is not a priority. So he went in a last time, and she still didn't have it done. He asked for the jacket back because he was tired of the constant excuses. The lady threw the jacket at him! I try to support our local businesses, but Monogram Magic is a joke. My mother dropped off a jacket on March 20th (I confirmed the date with the woman) and asked for Breast Cancer Awareness ribbons to be placed on the sleeves. We hadn't heard back from her (ZERO COMMUNICATION), so we went in last week, May 16th. She claimed the printer was broken, she had a huge high school order to fulfill, and she'd "hopefully" have the jacket done by Friday, May 18th. I went in today, Wednesday, May 23rd, and was told her printer was STILL out of commission and the jacket wasn't ready. OVER TWO FREAKIN' MONTHS, REALLY? She apologized, but it wasn't sincere. What is there not to like! My first time visiting this shop was yesterday. The staff; Peggy, her mom and a very nice man; were friendly, extremely helpful and very accommodating. I was in a bind and needed something for my daughter's birthday and through the fast and accurate work of Peggy I was able to pick up my most items same day. I do not give 5 stars lightly!! Family owned business. They worked with me to make designs, had shirts in stock and got them out the same day. I was in a pinch and need some for an event and they were awesome. They do my embroidery on shirts, bought new clothing they embroidered, hats, jackets and even a table cloth for a booth in the Manteca street fair! I highly recommend. They are very busy, do not go in thinking the same day, I got lucky that day!! I have referred other companies as well and they are satisfied as well. read more

Ordered a letterman jacket for my junior. Jacket came out perfect. Great quality and detail. They have a variety of designs to choose from. Very unique and taylored exactly to what we wanted. Only complaint is the slow service. I was told it be ready in a few weeks but it took over 3 months. That's my only complaint. But waiting for the great quality was probably worth it. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! This place struck out (THREE strikes) on their first job! *Strike 1: LATE. They failed to deliver when they promised. *Strike 2: WRONG. This is actually a double-fail! Not only did they use the wrong color, they used the wrong gauge of thread so the print was illegible. *Strike 3: LIES, LIES, LIES!!!! When asked about missing the deadline, they said they had called and left a message. Umm, NOPE!! We walked in the DAY AFTER the deadline and found them WORKING ON the 2nd shirt. Really? You called me yesterday? To tell me what? That you were almost ready to start on the order that was late? When asked about the wrong color, they said they called the school and THE SCHOOL told them magenta (instead of copper). We asked the school and guess what - another lie! Then they said they did the same color last year for the school's staff shirts. Why would you have to call the school to verify the color if you've already done it in the past? This place is a joke, instead of just telling me she didn't have time to complete a sweet shirt for a friends son. She continued to tell me that it would be done to come back we did this three different times. She had 16 days to tell me she couldn't complete it. Horrible customer service. Unprofessional, unfriendly, no communication, no sense of urgency, so sense of customer satisfaction. I'm astounded. They said they need 2 days minimum, they had 3. It was suppose to be ready by 10am. They said they needed only an hour more and that they would call when it's ready. At 2:30 PM and after waiting half an hour in store to pressure them, they finally managed to finish the simple ten minute embroidery. Not only did they make us feel like they had more important things going on, they made it seem like it was our fault. Dropped off HS Letterman's Jacket in October, was promised completion before Thanksgiving and a picture of the back patch sent prior for approval. This is now January 23rd we have not seen a picture for approval or received the jacket. My son's teammate dropped his jacket off in September with the same promises and has not received his either. Both of them seniors and neither have had the opportunity to enjoy their jackets. Such a disappointment. Quality work does not make up for the loss of experience. Monogram Magic is unreliable. This was the worst experience I have ever had in Manteca! My son's letter jacket was promised months earlier and received it a few days before he graduated at EUHS in late May! The sad part is I have lived with this not reporting to Yelp since 5/2014 when he graduated! I wish I had in the hopes to have saved one person from making the same mistake with trusting this local embroidery shop! The sad part is you leave your letters and important emblems stars, etc. in their care with broken inexcusable promises, a insulting rude daughter staring you down like you are not worthy to be a customer if you speak up! I would have walked away from my deposit if only I had the letters I gave them to sew on. The business half the time is closed with no regard to customer service whatsoever! Take a class in how to excel in Basic customer satisfaction. 1. First by acknowledging your customer is present and not a burden in your store. 2. Don't have your rude daughter run your company 3. Hire and train real help who are attentive and know how to embroider! It seems like the mother had to come out of retirement whenever they need a jacket or embroidery done anyways! Not happy at all with this company. A month ago I dropped off (2) hats to have some simple stitching of letters on them and was told it will take a few days because they are super busy. I come back a week later and was told that the person who makes the designs of the stitched letters was sick and would be back tomorrow. I was told at that time it will be done in couple days. Ok, I understand people get sick, so I come back exactly a week later and this time I was told that my hat is currently in the stitching machine when it broke and that the only person who knows how to fix the stitching machine will be here tomorrow. I was promised it will be done tomorrow or the next day. I come back two weeks later to find out that the person who does the lettering designs has not even started and that person told me she had been sick. Excuse after excuse after excuse. If you are so busy that you can't do simple stitching on (2) hats, be up front and tell me, I can understand and except that. But when you flat out lie to me and give me excuses for a month, it's very unprofessional. To conclude, I took my hats back and to my surprise they were untouched. Terrible place since it was the only place to go in Manteca for years I am finally glad they are getting some competition. They have always had bad customer service for several years now. But this was the final time we will be going there. We gave them a job to do over 2 weeks ago, find out today they never even started the job, then we were told the job was to complicated I asked why didn't they call and tell us that. They said we should have called them. My question is who is the business here? Just like another yelper said they will not take any responsibility for their actions. I wish I was able to rate this business zero stars because the service and owner are just horrible! I went by in November of 2019 and my daughter's letterman's is still not complete. I've called multiple times and the lady rarely answers so I went in last month to check on the jacket and she said she was barely getting started. The owner stated that it will be done next week and still nothing. So I called today asked if I can simply have a refund since there's only 3 months left of school and she then states that she does not do refunds! If I could give zero stars I would! Poor Poor Poor service and to top it off Danette has a non-caring attitude towards her customers. She lies and holds you hostage telling you your items will be available, but never delivers. I took a stadium chair to her in June, more than enough time to get completed prior to football season. Well after many excuses and lies, my chair is still not ready, and had not been touched. Today is 8/11/17. You see she completes the items she wants to (large money makers) but for the little people should doesn't care. Do yourself a favor and use Double Stitch in Manteca and Juzt designs by Wendy. 4 months for 10 patches. I wanted Velcro on the back and that was way way to tall of an order. I had to make 4 trips to the shop just to get an un trimmed, embroidered patch with no Velcro backing. We have used Monogram Magic for over 15 years for our business and personal items. They have never diappointed us. Yes, at times it takes longer to get certain items done, but they always let us know a timeframe, which I appreciate. You cannot walk in in November or December and expect to have your items done right away, that is a busy season for everyone. The ladies there are ALWAYS very nice and accomodating. They want to make sure that you are happy with the product, I appreciate their input. We have had silkscreening done there a few times but mostly it has been embroidery items. Most recently, our Godson and our daughters letterman jackets. We are VERY happy with the quality of their work and with their customer service. read more

I've been patronizing this business for the better part of two decades. Although I've always been pleased with the end result, I find myself dissatisfied with the overall experience. I've been taking my fitted hats to Monogram Magic since 1998 with the simple task of embroidered area codes on the back of each hat. From the beginning it has always been a lengthy process to complete my orders, sometimes upwards of 6 months, but this time after reading some of these reviews I realized I was a victim of some of these same bullshit ass excuses. I often would drop off 10-12 hats at a time because I knew I'd be in for a wait. This company has some of the poorest customer service you will ever receive if you give them your business. Here I am a loyal customer who's willing to take his patronage elsewhere because of shitty customer service!! My last order was 8 hats dropped off over 3 months ago when they said it would be done in a couple of weeks, yeah right!! I called today and was told it would be done in one week. When I told the lady to cancel my order she transferred to the head lady. The lady in charge gets on the phone and starts rambling off excuses about her machine being broke for 1 month and all this other this other junk. I told her to cancel my order and I'd be by to pick up my hats. She rudely hung up the phone. Logic tells me that you can't complete my order in 3 months (this time) why would you be able to complete it in 1 week. What about the other two months even if your machine was down for 1 month why not notify your customers. The workers here have a poor attitudes and lack the ability to give two fucks about your needs. I won't encourage you to take your business elsewhere. Just know that you'll be Sorry!!! read more

I have had several items done here. Great customer service a nice family owned business. The prices may seem a little high for letterman jackets but embroidery on a shirt or hoodie or something of that nature seems perfectly priced. A mistake was made on a recent order and I called and Peggy was very nice didn't make me feel bad about it or put blame on me. She fixed it and I am totally satisfied. I recommend them strongly. I have never waited longer then 10 days for an item. They are consistently busy and still manage to give you quality work and in what I believe is a timely fashion. Remember if you want something done don't wait two days before and expect them to have it done give them a week and I'm sure you will get it done. Depending on how many items you want done! read more
