I needed a program put together in a three day time span. The printers in Stockton couldn't handle it. A friend of mine told me to check J & J in Manteca. They were a life saver. They not only put together the program in the time frame but improved the graphics by 100% over what I put together. Five stars doesn't seem enough for their service. Disappointed. Based on the handful of reviews written about this establishment, it is pretty clear customers either love it or hate it. The consistency is peculiar. See data below. * Reviews for 5 stars: customers state good quality work * Reviews for 1 star: customers state woman who works there is rude beyond belief The first time I came in looking to have a shirt embroidered last year (2017) I was greeted by a stoned-face female who examined the shirt & informed me it was not made of appropriate material suitable for embroidery. Fair enough. I left empty handed (well, not really, I had the shirt I brought in, but you know what I mean). I turned back to thank her on my way out but she had already slipped behind the curtain. Fast forward to today. I came back to this location with a sweater (yes, made of suitable material!) & was greeted by the same stoned-face female who immediately after inquiring about embroidery services snapped "I'm not taking anymore orders until January 5th". I stood there wondering to myself why her OPEN sign was lit on the window if she was not accepting new orders and then slowly said, "Ohhhhhkay." She turned her back to walk behind the curtain. No polite condolences, or even a half smile. Again. Empty handed. Not sure if she is the owner since we've never had a long enough conversation to get to the niceties but if she is, someone should really sit her down and give her some pointers on customer service. Just walked in a moment ago to ask about having a few shirts made, an old lady came out of the back and just said "No, I have a dozen orders before you..No" and that was it and she walked away. Won't be back here and do not recommend this place to anyone! read more

I really felt the attitude through yelp. All I did was ask for a quote and immediately was answered back with the attitude and that they can't do what I'm asking them to. I didn't even send to them directly I just did the option "send to other similar places". Sorry that yelp sent it to u sheesh. I won't toggle that option again. I had a project in August that needed two shirts embroidered on short notice. I called on a Monday and they said I could bring the shirts in and pick a font and they could have it done in time for the weekend. This was the same week all of Manteca USD was ordering cheerleading and sports teams uniforms as well as several charter and private schools ordering their uniforms. I really appreciated them taking the time to do my two shirts that week. I couldn't come back in and approve the font/thread colors because of my work schedule so they texted me the mockup of it for me to approve. Have your project ideas ready and call before you head over and you should be happy with the results. read more

The lady that answered named Penny was SO rude! I was just trying to find out information and she was SO unprofessional. I cant believe they have someone working customer service that CAN NOT provide good customer service. This place is so AWESOME!!! I'm glad there is another embroidery place in Manteca. The ladies here are super nice and did a great job!! It was exactly what I wanted and they were able to do it in a VERY timely manner unlike other places in Manteca that take several months for one project. Have never had someone be so rude to me over the phone. My sons' school requires uniforms. Lady that answered said they have the shirts but still need the embroidery done of school logo...(thought they would have it on already) so I asked how long would it take?...and so the rudeness continued. She said I would have to go in and see how backed up they are etc. I mentioned I was a 45 minute drive, I dont mind if it was five days or a week f it to be ready, just wanted an exact date(I wanted to place order over phone, basically,if possible, but with her attitude, heck no!) She continued responding so rude to me, it was ridiculous and sad. How a business can be like that to potential customers. I'm wondering if she is the owner, would explain why she feels she can speak like that to people. I thanked her for her rudeness. She said, your welcome. hahahaha wow. I will definitely mention to the school about the experience I had with double stitch and hopefully they would look into another business that is worthy of their services. Absolutely rude people. Don't understand why any business owner would think acting rude to new clientele is a smart idea but these people obviously have no courtesy or want to make their business grow. Had a very simple question and provided all the information they needed and was given a straight "no" answer and even went out of my way to ask for alternatives to the service they actually DO provide and they gave a "the answer is no" response via email. Terrible service, and I suspect they won't be in business much longer. read more

Called just for some info and the lady I spoke to was so rude, like really is this how you treat new business? I will not be doing business at double stitch at all and will not recommend it.
