Cheese was fresh, salad properly dressed and lettuce cold and crunchy - no anchovies offered which was a a bummer for me but delighted my guests. I ordered the orrichetti w crab meat, asparagus & basil which was delicious and perfectly prepared. Hubby got the lamb shank which was divinely delicious. Served with saffron mashed potatoes. He was in heaven. Adult daughter loved her veal picatta. Dessert was zabigone (sp?) w berries - yum yum and affogato! Oh the cucumber basil martini was fabulous!! Service was spot in. We came for lunch on Saturday in October. Great Ambiance and natural lighting. There are basically no doors just floor to ceiling windows or glass doors. Bright, inviting and classy atmosphere. Gilbert, our server, was attentive and professional. The crab appetizer special was our favorite dish. This was really unexpected because my husband and I usually do not like crab very - - that's how good it was! We have another wonderful experience of this restaurant. I had the piccata and my friend had the excellent osso bucco. My wife and her friend enjoyed their salad and the caccio a Pepe. I can't believe this long-time PB restaurant has become such a terrible place with disappointing food and unfriendly staff. To make matters worse, they discriminate against people with certain disabilities but not others. It doesn't take a lawyer to know that's not legal or in compliance with the ADA. Specifically, if you are sight impaired with a seeing eye dog, you're okay. But if you suffer from combat-related PTSD or any other medical condition like diabetes, you're banished outside in the heat and humidity with your service dog. To add insult to injury, somehow my food was contaminated, and I suffered from what was medically diagnosed as food poisoning less than 12 hours later. I made the mistake of returning several months later with my 97-year-old mother and other family members and received the same treatment. We finally got tired of the staff and maitre d' giving us the hairy eyeball, so we all got up and left to have a wonderful dinner at Sant Ambroeus where they take extraordinary care of us and the food is astronomically and gastronomically superior. How can Trevini improve? Fire the chef, the belicose maître's d', and the morose servers and go back to the way you were 7 years ago when we had our wedding dinner there. read more

After months of renovations, and sometime in late 2019, the 19-year-old white-tablecloth Italian restaurant, Trevini, reopened in a pronounced ground-floor space at 223 Sunset Ave. Now the restaurants have capacity to seat over one-hundred customers inside and on their awning-covered terrace. The restaurant ambiance has been upgraded with an upscale contemporary flair. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, with a menu that has a mix of Italian specialties and creative specials. We very much enjoyed the outdoor ambience and the white cloth table service. Our appetizers and dinner was delightful. But that ended up being the them of the evening. - Short rib: perfectly cooked but a little bland - Branzino: amazing price of fish simply grilled, but not super flavorful only came a light white wine sauce and a bland orzo side - eggplant parm: really average - Truffle pasta: I LOVE truffle pasta. I didn't love this one. There were so many truffle shaving which was amazing, but it was on top of what tasted like plain spaghetti with butter. I wanted more flavor in the sauce. It was just too simple and not rich enough in flavor for a pasta that cost $110 DESSERT: - Tiramisu: SO good -- perfect - Chocolate mousse: not a light and fluffy mousse, which is what I prefer so I wasn't really a fan I also had coffee which was just okay. I had some pretty high expectations from my parents who love this place. But even they said our meal that night wasn't as good as the last time they went. I had a reservation for Saturday night and it was one of the worst experiences I've had in the area. The valet was about to quit when I arrived. Once inside, the hostess disappeared for 15 minutes. The people in line in front of me had a reservation for 15 minutes prior to mine and hadn't been greeted yet. No manager was anywhere in sight. After waiting for a while, the four of us walked out. No one ever came to the host/hostess stand while we were there. The palm trees are decorated with lights and in the middle of the garden stands a large fountain which makes the restaurant very romantic. It is a very classy restaurant where people go well-dressed. Recommendation: You need a reservation! This restaurant is quite busy. You have to be very well dressed, especially men.
