We sat in the bar area and enjoyed the happy hour prices while trying a few different things to share. Our server, Shawn, was absolutely amazing! I asked to exchange mine for a mocktail, and ironically, the mocktail ended up being the only thing I actually enjoyed. The food unfortunately didn't get any better. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and it was honestly awful -- completely drowning in butter with almost no flavor. It didn't taste like carbonara at all, just heavy and greasy. The prosciutto and mozzarella was also disappointing. The mozzarella was hard instead of soft and fresh, and the dish overall just wasn't enjoyable. My boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs and specifically asked for his steak medium, but it came out very clearly medium rare. Overall, almost everything we ordered was a miss. For a restaurant that looks so beautiful and has such a nice atmosphere, I really expected the food and drinks to be on the same level. Unfortunately, I wouldn't come back based on this experience.

The cocktails were amazing (the one with Desert pear and compari - i dont remember the name - was exceptional). We got the grilled carrots appetizer and clams. Those. Carrots. Perfectly charred, incredibly delish. The clams more than made up for the subpar mussels I had elsewhere the night before, too. My husband got the BBQ pizza and was very happy - both for dinner, and for the next day's lunch. I got the chicken parm, and also had plenty for a large lunch the next day. (and the green beans that came with were also JUST the way i like them - not overcooked, garlicy, and delish). Zero complaints. The ambiance strikes that perfect balance between fine dining and comfortable sophistication. Warm lighting, attentive service, beautifully plated dishes, and the kind of atmosphere where you can slow down and really enjoy dinner. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Some highlights from the vegan menu: * Melanzane e Zucchine -- warm zucchini carpaccio with pine nuts, crispy artichokes, and eggplant that was beautifully balanced and packed with texture * Barbabietole, Avocado e Cetrioli -- avocado, sliced red beet, cucumber, and orange vinaigrette with gorgeous presentation and incredibly fresh ingredients * Polpette di Verdure -- vegan meatballs made with eggplant, mushrooms, roasted lentils, breadcrumbs, and onions in tomato sauce. Comforting, flavorful, and one of my favorite dishes of the night * Risotto ai Porcini e Spinaci Profumato al Tartufo -- rich porcini mushroom risotto with spinach and truffle oil that felt perfect for an upscale Italian dinner And the dessert absolutely deserves its own moment. The vegan ricotta cheesecake with fresh berries and house made sorbet was outstanding. The house made ricotta had an incredibly light, creamy texture, the berries and sorbet kept everything bright and balanced, and the crust was honestly one of the best parts of the dish. Cafe Sapori also has a very extensive wine list that really elevates the whole experience if you enjoy pairing wine with dinner. What makes this place especially great is that it works whether you are fully vegan, plant curious, or dining with non vegan friends. You can enjoy a full upscale vegan dining experience while others order from the regular menu, which is what helped make Cafe Sapori such a well known and respected restaurant in the first place. Also worth mentioning: the prices felt very fair for the level of service, presentation, ingredients, and overall experience. Huge appreciation to the staff for making plant based dining feel fully integrated into the experience instead of an afterthought. Can't wait to go back.

It quickly became clear why the drinks receive high praise! They were indeed delightful and well crafted. However, my experience with the food left much to be desired. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, which were topped with a creamy sauce. Unfortunately, the dish did not meet expectations, falling short in flavor and presentation. I would rate them a mere two out of ten. Additionally, we tried the oysters, which were disappointingly bland. Even with various toppings, they lacked the fresh vibrant taste one hopes for when enjoying oysters. Regrettably, both dishes missed the mark for me so I decided not to order more food and go somewhere else. On a positive note, our server was exceptional friendly, attentive, and accommodating, which helped enhance our overall experience. The restaurant's ambiance was mature and inviting and its location is indeed impressive. Despite the high ratings and popularity, I found the food lacking, which makes me hesitant to return.
