The food was about a 4/5. My partner ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, which was tasty, and the chips it came with were good. I shared a prime burger with our child and added fries for a surcharge, but unfortunately the fries were very soggy. Service was more of a 2/5. Things started off well with a warm greeting and smile from our server, Socrates, but after that it became very difficult to get their attention. They disappeared for long stretches, and oddly enough, while they brought glasses of water for my partner and me, they didn't bring one for our child until nearly the end of the meal. When we finally asked, they gave us an empty plastic cup with nothing inside. We'd heard dessert was a highlight, so we asked for the dessert menu--but it took quite a while for it to arrive, despite the restaurant being nearly empty (only two other tables). When we did order dessert, we specifically asked for the bill to be brought at the same time because service had been so slow. Unfortunately, the bill never came, and once again we had to track down our server after finishing dessert. Overall, the food was solid, but the service left a lot to be desired, especially given how quiet the restaurant was during our visit. The decor and ambience of the restaurant was great, 5/5.
The room is designed in an industrial way with high ceilings and can get noisy. Near a wall, it's a bit quieter. We had an early dinner so it wasn't too noisy. Bread is available for a fee. It arrived warm and delicious. The oysters are served like escargot. They were good, but I like oysters and the sauce and breadcrumbs covered up the taste. The mushroom and cheese pizza was yummy. We ordered it as another appetizer for 4 to share. Note: There is no tomatoe sauce on this pie. My friend loved her fennel salad. She added chicken. My partner and I shared the lobster pasta. They split it in the kitchen. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the lobster sauce was very good. We had too many carbs and calories for dessert. Note: happy hour is a good value. We had some drinks at the bar before going to our table. Our server was friendly and efficient.
Really underwhelmed by the food. The service was quick and our server was so nice! The inside is dark and very nice! However the food was disappointing. We got the Parker rolls and they were good! However the chicken parm was so bland and boring. The shrimp scampi was fine but not worth the price for what you get. Really disappointed in the food but service and drinks were good
This place gets super busy so make reservations! we went during happy hour and it was packed. We tried some of the happy hour menu which was a meatball sub and a chicken parm sandwich- both delicious. Perfect trying size. The rolls were delicious and tasted so fresh. The pasta was very good. The only thing that was ok was the pizza. It was still tasty just nothing special. Either way I enjoyed everything we had here. The service was good and the restaurant itself is nice and up to date. It is a great place for happy hour as it does get busy and they have a full bar. The ambiance is casual nice.
Our server was fantastic. Im sorry I dont remember her name but she explained everything well when we had questions about the dishes.. the rolls were amazing. The tuna tartare with crispy rice was delicious. The crispy rice is a nice texture. We split the ny strip made med rare and the "pumpkin pie" pizza made with soft butternut squash chucks. Everything had a lot of flavor. The tiramisu dessert was ok. Didn't really care for the middle layer. The dessert menu i feel could be better. This is a sister restaurant to Buccan again is about the same noise level. It is on the louder side.
Grato was included on my fantastic Historic West Palm Beach Neighborhood Food Tour. The place is nicely laid out with food bar area, a nice bar, and dining room... a casual rustic atmosphere. Loved the tasting of Meatballs with Creamy Polenta and the simple Italian Salad. As it's part of the group that owns Buccan you know everything on the menu is going to be good. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
The mushroom pizza really delivered on the mushrooms! Service was incredibly nice and helpful! Everything was very yummy. Love the laidback vibe for Palm Beach area.
Needed a late brunch on Sunday and haven't been to Grato in ages: What a treat! The Huevos Rancheros were spectacular----fresh avocado and perfectly poached eggs on delicious black beans! Socrates was funny, attentive and helpful as our server, and the noise level was tolerable. Highly recommend!
We always enjoy coming here, but tonight was lacking. Our service was subpar. The bussers/wait staff did not help at all. Usually they are on point, clearing tables, bringing tableware, boxes...They were nowhere to be found when needed. Our server was the same. We waited for him to even show up gave up waters then left. We didn't see him for over 10 mins. Then asked for what we wanted to drink. We ordered our food at that point. He left, didn't see him again until we were almost done. We asked for the dessert menu and our dinner plates were still on the table. Needless to say the night was very rough since we never saw our server, but we at least enjoyed our food. The meatball polenta is delicious. Be prepared that the buffalo pizza is not a MILD buffalo pizza it is a HOT buffalo sauce. Make a reservation!
Stopped in at 5 on a Sunday lista was our bartender. Amazing from the start. Everything was great I asked for shaved parm in a flash I had it Thank you for a wonderful dinner with me daughter. All the best in 26
Our first time here and what a great place. So many different people from different places. Just a really trendy, great place for people watching. The staff, every single one of them, worked so well together. And the food! Well, 3 of us had the pizza, after the Buffalo mozzarella salad, & 1 the carbonara. All excellent! It is a lot of food! Yes, we had dessert & a delicious peanut butter espresso martini. We will drive all the way from Loxahatchee to enjoy another evening out at Grato again & again!
The food was lacking in presentation. No one enjoyed their food, except for the scones and avodaco toast. Others had the tomato with poached eggs and the juevos ranchero but no one finished those. The waitress was condescending to one of the ladies in our group and even brought her food out late! I was not impressed and will not be back. The espresso martini i heard was good but I did not have one. Atmosphere was chill. Service - not so good either
A friend of ours had gone to grotto and recommended it to us so we had to give it a try. Very charming place on Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach. The places incredibly well decorated with all kinds of interesting things and the bar is rather elegant. We were there for happy hour so we ordered drinks and the one that seems to stand out the most is called the frozen Moscow Mule. If you haven't had one it's like having a lime popsicle in a cup. Everybody likes them. We ordered both off of the happy hour menu, small plates and the dinner menu. We had a variety of things come to our table. I had the happy hour meatballs served with polenta, extremely creamy and delicious. The meatballs were wonderful. I also had the house salad and an order of french fries. The house salad was delicious. My wife had the arugula pizza and it certainly lived up to its name. A friend of ours that was with us ordered a pizza that was gluten-free. It was like a deep dish, thick crusted pizza and the crust was really good. Anybody could order that. Our dessert was very special. I think they called it $100,000 bar or something like that it was sensational layers of caramel and fudge with a scoop of ice cream on the side. We had a awesome dinner and we would go back anytime
A friend recommended this place, so we drove over on the way back from west palm beach. The restaurant is beautiful inside, and the atmosphere was great. The walk up window was also so cute! We went around 3 PM on a Sunday and had the Smoked Yellowfin Tuna sandwich, Steak Bomb, and Burrata Caprese sandwich. The smoked tuna sandwich was honestly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Everything we ordered was really good, and the service and overall experience were great. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I made the trip specifically for the Beef Carpaccio sandwich and they were sold out by the time we got there. Totally understand things happen, but it was a little disappointing after driving that far for it. Looks like I'll just have to come back earlier next time. If they had the carpaccio sandwich available, this easily would have been a 5-star review since the sandwich genuinely changed my life!! read more
Super cool vibe here and have been meaning to get here so many times. Glad we made it in. Power hour is no joke. Only 5-6 at the bar and the regulars know it. We missed that but we're seated at a high top with four chairs. Not the most comfortable and very awkward seating. Table also not big enough if you are sharing. Food was good. Nothing over the top. The one standout was actually the swordfish. Nice portion and excellent flavors. Pizza was meh (got a white with pepperoni and hot honey). Chicken parm good. Not crispy but flavors excellent. Spaghetti was perfectly cooked and enjoyed. All else underwhelming. Our server was excellent and super attentive. So many choices in the area not sure will return but will attempt to get into power hour!! read more

We came for Sunday brunch and everything was lovely. We had the bottomless mimosas and proseccos. For our meals we had the mushroom pizza with prosciutto added on, a meatball sandwich with fries and the tuna sandwich with chips. Everyone was very satisfied with the flavors and the portions were large so we all had to-go boxes. Dessert was the tiramisu brownies and affogato. The food, service, and vibe were all great. An amazing brunch spot for sure. read more

We also had meatballs, the tuna appetizer, and the cauliflower that was not photoed. Out of the appetizers the tuna was the best. The cauliflower was my least favorite. Over all they were packed with flavor and delicious! The drinks they serve are strong and tasty. The tortellini I ordered for my meal was flavorful, stuffed with guda cheese. I got a bees knees as drink & it came out so cute with the little paper clip lemon on the side! read more
Grato has joined my weekly rotation- along with the Buccan Sandwhich Shop on its side street (another review for that joint coming soon). I sit at either the bar near the door or the one by the pizza ovens- the food has been so delicious on a consistent basis. My go to's are: the Tuna Tartare- Crispy Rice over Avocado (it's to die for), with Spicy Aioli and Cucumber, the Meatballs over Creamy Polenta, and the Brussel Sprout Salad- please bring that back!!!, the Mushroom or Motor City Pizza, the Grato Double Cheeseburger (especially delicious for $5.00 at Happy Hour) the French Fries, the Butternut Squash Pasta- please bring that back too! The service is always near perfect and the ambiance is fun although loud it is festive and casual. Low key, easy and fairly priced. read more
A place to return to The atmosphere was romantic. What was impressive was their open kitchen concept. Super cool to watch dishes being made. We came to celebrate my son's birthday. We began with the Caesar salad, tuna tar tar and meatballs with polenta The salad was very beautiful tasting The Tuna tar tar was the star for me, the crispy rice packed full of flavor it was delicious The meatballs were recommend they were good For enter it was recommended to try the chicken lettuce wraps. In my opinion they were ok. Stick to the pasta. The other dishes I tried were all great but the bolognese is what I'd recommend. I want to try their pizza next time. I hope they extend their menu too. read more
We had an excellent time here! I made a reservation on open table so we were sat right away. It was very busy, but our sever was attentive and kept topping off our wine and sparkling water without being asked - some of the best service I've had in a while! The food was delicious, we got the Italian salad, focaccia bread, diavola pizza and toffee cake. Everything was SO good. The atmosphere was lively - would definitely visit again. read more
2 stars for grato. As of July 2025 they have a NEW MENU. They have taken pasta away from the chicken parm so you have to get the $19.00 side of pasta to have normal chicken parm. ( the side portion was not large at all and the pasta was stuck together like they didn't stir it ) Also, the chicken parm came with a disturbing amount of lettuce and such on top of the chicken. This was odd I don't know why the chef would do this. I did ask our fabulous waiter alex for a new one without which he did no problem. My friend had the broccolini and said it would have been better sautéed with butter she also stated that it was spicy so watch out for that! We had the meatballs for an app. ( 3 come in the app) they were OKAY nothing special - and came with lots of cheese. I would like to note that they have valet parking as well as street parking. Booths and high tops are both an option. I used the restroom before I left and would also like to note that someone had puked in the sink. Overall I am giving. A two because our waiter alex was awesome - the food was blah. Will not return. read more

Love this place but their summer menu was written as if they don't want the regulars to come back. I get seasonal menus but this is not that. Change for change sake seems like and the menu is not inspired in any way at this point. I'll go back once they realize they've screwed up. And they could do to watch "Five Easy Pieces" and be a bit more flexible with small requests. read more

One of my favorite meals during our visit to West Palm Beach was at Grato. I couldn't believe that Grato was able to accommodate our group of 11 the day before Thanksgiving! I was able to secure the reservation just four days in advance. The restaurant doesn't offer a children's menu, but they are family friendly and offered crayons and coloring pages to my toddlers. There are plenty of kid friendly dishes on the menu, including pizza and half portions of any of the pasta dishes. My five year old ate all of the half portion of pasta as well as several slices of pizza so I would only suggest the smaller pasta dish as an appetizer or for a very young child. I ordered a glass of chianti and the bucatini carbonara. The bucatini was absolutely delicious!!! The rich and creamy sauce was very filling, but had this been a less hearty sauce I would recommend pairing the pasta with an appetizer or salad. Will definitely be making a reservation at Grato next time I visit West Palm Beach! read more
Happy hour 5-6 even on Friday in season. Quite crowded so book in advance. Happy hour at bar or high tops. Food and atmosphere first class. Sister location to upmarket restaurant on Palm Beach Island. Good pour of beer. Fine meat balls and first class mushroom pizza. Excellent and understanding waiter which is typical of this classy restaurant. My wife has been there several times for lunch and never disappointed read more

The decor of the place is very nice and gives rustic vibes. The lighting is very dim. Good thing they have the candles on the table. Reading by candlelight. Be careful if you have children. Really great service despite a mix up on one of our orders. The taste of the food was very very good. Outstanding. But unless you're getting a pizza the portion size is not generous. One negative was the restroom. We were seated towards the back of the restaurant where the restroom is located. That led to random ppl standing by/over our table. They only have two and they are single use which leads to a long line at times. read more

I was really surprised how we were charged for a dessert for my friend's birthday. I spent over $300 on food and drinks. Most restaurants give a free dessert when you celebrate your birthday with them. Such a disappointment that they can be so cheap with their customers. read more

Margaritas are good! I wouldn't recommend the pizza hawain it was too spicy and it was a little burned. But the pasta was amazing and the service was excellent. The truffle pasta was the best I had in a long time. I will be back read more
The happy hour feast! These sliders weren't anything special. Everything was just okay. The best thing on these plates were the chicken sliders. They were crispy, juicy, and the Nashville hot sauce gave it the perfect kick. The coleslaw was the perfect sweet touch to balance the dish. The service was great. My server was very nice and pleasant. He was attentive and honestly made the experience better. The decor and the vibe in Grato is good. It gives a low key, laid back, upscale vibe. read more

Food:2/5 Service:3/5 Ambiance: 3/5 I came here for a friend's birthday dinner. There was a 20 minute wait even though she had reservations. This place is relatively small inside. Once seated, we decided to go with the LOCAL MUSHROOM pizza which was around $23. The food wasn't up to par for me but edible. The sauce had no type of flavor. I requested a side of some type of sauce and the waiter looked at me with a blank look. Then arrogantly "tried" to make a joke about me to the table I was with. Before he could open his mouth to even lift his tongue, I had to tell him your pizza is flavorless & it's better if I correct it then send it back. Nothing on this menu looked extremely appetizing to begin with. I ended up getting marinara sauce on the side and after that showdown he apologized. I forgot his name but he was a black male, pretty average height, and he wore earrings. He was closing out the night as well (night staff). That experience did throw me off because immature workers shouldn't be working in hospitality ESPECIALLY when they're talking to someone that has experience with VARIOUS types of foods from DIFFERENT cultures. Anywho, I most likely won't be back. That experience did put a bad taste in my mouth. 2/5 stars. Food is edible, service is okay, ambiance- place is small but clean. read more
DRUM ROLL PLEASE for an all time fave. Their pizza and salads always slap (the diavola pizza and the Italian salad will change your life). Pair that with a pear martini and you're set for a good time. If you're more in a pasta mood, have no fear, they have you covered there too. The shrimp orecchiette is a game changer and the ricotta ravioli looked delectable as well. Do yourself a favor, sit at the bar, and have yourself a NIGHT. read more
