Our visit coincided with a fundraiser event so of course the restaurant was very busy, but that did not affect service whatsoever. Irving, our main waiter was extraordinarily helpful with the menu and the specials. He guided us each to the perfect entrée for my sister and I. She had the braised short ribs with pasta and meatballs, and I had a filet mignon portobello risotto that was delicious. I would have preferred the fillet to be a little less well done however it was still very tender. The ambience cannot be beat. We sat outside on thie beautiful. December evening, Near the outdoor bar. Our proximity to the bar allowed us to catch glimpses of the Bears/Packers game on the TV behind the bar. The sound was not up so is not to ruin the peaceful atmosphere, but we were still able to follow along which made for even more fun. We came early before dinner for cocktails and stayed late. The bar was busy but still attentive. The Capri spritzer was my favorite, but they also have an array of beers and wines. It was an enjoyable evening from top to bottom.

When I called, I was told it is "mandatory in Florida" to add a 20% tip if one is not included, which is not accurate. There was no disclosure of any automatic gratuity on the receipt. Also, the amount added was $24.00, which is about 18.7% - not the 20% I was told. Instead of correcting the issue, I received an unprofessional response. I am disputing the charge with my credit card company. I recommend others review their statements carefully.

And…read morelet me tell you why: Three of us came on a Saturday night (5:30pm) and were sat immediately. Ambiance is super cozy, bright, and Italian music plays lightly in the background while the TV rotates beautifully Italian scenery. We were greeted by Maura who brought waters to the table and we perused the menu. Settling on 2 chicken Marsala and 1 chicken penne alla vodka, we were quite pleased to see the restaurant had become half full! Great sign! Our waitress is one half of the dynamic duo owners Nick & Art. Friendly, smiling and very personal, she served us our pre-dinner soup/salad and piping hot garlic parsley butter rolls. The pre-dinner salad came out and was a decent size; crisp lettuce, big ripe chunk tomato, red onion and olives. My hubby said the Italian dressing was really good. My friend and I had one of the soup specials; pasta fagioli. The soup was seasoned perfectly and plenty of perfectly cooked veggies. Oh, and those garlic butter rolls; forget about it! So dang good, I bet you don't eat just one!! The hubby ordered a glass of Pinot Noir with his dinner and us ladies stuck to water. With dinner served, I wondered how I was going to eat so much food! My chicken alla vodka came enough for 3 people. And no, it wasn't just a plate of pasta; big pieces of grilled chicken mixed through the creamy garlicky vodka pasta. The chicken Marsala came out with 2 giant breasts, seasoned with Marsala sauce and angel hair pasta (or your choice of liking) with plenty of mushrooms. The smell was intoxicating! And again, enough for 2 people. With portions this grand and tastes so big, I can see why at this restaurant was packed! Pizzas flying by, lasagnas, Marsalis, Piccata ... oh my! We were celebrating my hubby's bday and were surprised with staff singing while serving his chocolate peanut butter cake. Moist, not too sweet and enough for us to have a bite while he devoured the rest! Choices of Tiramisu, Key Lime, Cannoli's or chocolate cake is on the menu. Leave room for a sweet nosh, you won't be disappointed. Service was impeccable. Food was amazing and the portions cannot be beat. The staff is super friendly, personable and not pushy. The restaurant is clean, as are the restrooms (this says a lot). This is a great local restaurant, who has taken hospitality to another level. We will be back when visiting in the future.

I had planned on getting the penne picanti but last minute switch to the gnocchi because it had the restaurants name in it, I figured it would be the best thing to get but wished I got the penne instead. The sausage was microscopic in the gnocchi and I was just craving some spice. The chicken parm was the biggest I've ever seen. I seriously cannot comprehend how they get it that big. I mean I have an idea but... it's so crazy to me the margarita pizza crust was very nice and I think my favorite was the friend zucchini. We sat out on the patio around sunset and it was literally the most perfect weather. Perfect valentines dinner

As a thoughtful gesture, they even removed the Kir Royale drinks from our bill since we didn't enjoy them much. We hadn't expected that at all, and it really showed how much they care about their customers. Every dish we tried was excellent. The calamari appetizer and the pesto gnocchi entrée were particular highlights for me. This is definitely a place I've added to my list for when I'm back in Florida. Highly recommend stopping by and experiencing it for yourself!

Far from "red sauce italian," Il Professore serves up exquisitely crafted italian regional specialties in a sleek but humble environment, with service that makes you feel perfectly at home whe3ther you're a first timer or a regular. Last night was our 4th time eating there. Started with fried stuffed zucchini blossoms... clearly homemade ricotta, hot out of the oven in fresh tomato and basil pesto sauces. Perfect. We shared the Staghetti Bottarga, which was split for us. Pasta, perfectly cooked. Sauce, olive oil, garlic, cherry tomatoes and botttarga, just crunchy and flavorful enough to add life tot he dish without overwhelming it. Two entrees. Lamb chops in a beautifully savory sauce, with roasted potatoes crisp on the outside and fluffy and hot inside. The breadcrumb/parmesan crusted halibut was perfectly fresh, moist, seasoned correctly (not too salty) and all around perfect. Don't sleep on the desserts -- the pistachio tiramiso is always on the menu and excellent. Chocolate cake with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream, also well worth the calories. Don't miss this place! It's small and in the usual crappy Florida strip mall, but it is always an experience!

I enjoyed his personality. They had a ton of specials and additions to the menu, so it was hard to stick to the flavor of South FL menu, but I guess we'll have to go back! The stuffed zucchini flowers were tasty, but I'm not sure they needed the superfluous amount of sauce they came with. I think it made right, they don't need much extra flavor at all! The mezzi paccheri was definitely homemade and the sauce was good, although needed a bit more flavor for us, maybe a dash of salt/pepper. The chicken breast I thought was super dry, so did my husband, oh well. For dessert we both had the velvet affogato, which is legit my favorite dessert ever. I have never seen it offered with both vanilla and chocolate ice cream! Also, it came with a side of Amaretto (shot), which is unique! The waiter said they are totally slammed in season and I can see why!
