Finally I tried the new place. Same offerings. Different sizes to satisfy clientele budgets. I could just stand in front of the freezer all day to pick my selection. Today was Lobster Sorrentinos- mini ravioli stuffed with lobster and I picked a pesto sauce for the topping. Easy to prepare at home. Definitely delicious to consume. I didn't even check to what fresh pastas were available; this is what I used to purchase all the time. Service was spot on. I walked into the store and a clerk welcomed me and asked if I needed help. Nice. Prices were reasonable. And BTW, they supply all the neighboring restaurants and then some, with the fresh pasta on their menus. Go try it. I know I'll be back. Cool local pasta shop. But it's definitely more than that! The immediate neighborhood has plenty of coffee/breakfast places along with mini gorcery stores and other places to eat. So it's definitely nice to seem something different that compliments the area well. You can always eat out and what better than quality cooking. Well it's the pandemic and I'm sure you're cooking and looking for something to engage yourself. Why not explore more locally. Here they are setup with PPE for the staff and they expect the same of you. They also offer hand sanitizer at the register, nice touch during these times. The hours are still normal, 930 AM to 730 PM, typically. Other than that I assume it's business as normal as can be for the biz. First thing you notice when entering is the selection. There's a big clear deli freezer with all the fresh pastas. Opposite side of that are freezers full of pastas, sauces, meals, and desserts. The sauces range from Marina, other traditional sauces and some specialized ones. Quite a bit of selection of gnocchi too, with potato or ricotta and other variations. They had quite a bit of meals including eggplant parm, manicotti, lasagna, empanadas and others. Lastly they had desserts if you have room! Cute neighborhood Italian mini mart BUT .... I always assumed these foods were made with natural and wholesome ingredients . Especially for the prices. But the frozen ravioli has artificial colors, dyes and flavors! Why? I'm not sure if this is new since the change from Mr. Pasta to Viva la Pasta? I try to eat clean as much as possible so unless other items are free of chemical flavorings, I won't be back. Oh, and the pasta has no ingredient label at all . I imagined the yellowish color to the water was from the egg but now not sure... I feel silly for not having known about this place for years even after having been to this neighborhood numerous times. I almost walked by this place not knowing what it was. But a man making pasta behind the glass storefront using a very large vintage pasta machine caught my sudden attention. Then I noticed the wicker baskets, large bags of durum wheat pasta flour stacked up, and even more open workstations for viewing the art of making pasta. Befuddled, I walked in and saw that they offer a good variety of fresh pasta as well as some other products in the refrigerated section such as pascualina, quiches, and empanadas. They also sell a few Italian and Argentine products. The lady helping me out was friendly and helpful. The prices for the foods were very reasonable. Overall, this was a great find for someone who truly respects places that are seriously dedicated to making good fresh pasta. read more

Mr. Pasta is the best place to go for fresh made pasta in Miami Beach, and one of the best kept secrets of Miami Beach. They actually supply many of the higher end restaurants commercially, but if you walk-in during store hours you can buy straight from the pasta maker. I like buying the fresh red pepper and spinach sheets to make raviolis at home, but sometimes buy some of their specialties (I have a pound of ricotta gnocchi waiting to be made in the freezer). One tip if you buy fresh noodles - use them within a day or two or they will begin to dry out. They will last for a long time in the freezer if you aren't ready to use them right away. This weekend (Jan 2010) I went in and got two trays of wild mushroom ravioli ( would serve 5) and 2 bags of gnochhi stuffed with provolone and truffle ( would serve 4) all for $22. They do sell sauces and sausages and give out for free lots of advice. Other flavors of ravioli included pumpkin, lobster, cheese and additionally they sell these large sheets of pasta which they said can be used to make lasagna, cannelloni and it comes in spinach, tomato and egg flavors. This in the northern area of Miami beach. For parking there is a public lot on the corner on NW 74 St and Collins Avenue. For anyone who loves pasta and even those who may feel a bit kitchen challenged this is a great place to get all you need to make a meal worth amore! Manga! read more

A very nice gentleman took the time to explain the process, describe the items and instructed how to cook the products at home. As a first time customer, he suggested the asparagus ravioli and the mushroom ones, with marinara sauce. My dinner turned out spectacular! And it was soooo easy to make!!!
