It's been a few months since I got my cat, Rye and now that he's really settled in I thought it might be time to write a review. Overall I had such a positive experience working with Annabel. She's organized, professional and was always clear in her communication throughout the adoption process. She quoted me a 6 month wait at the beginning and that was how long it took (I was matched with my kitten after 3 months). She provided information about the waitlist process and sent regular email updates about upcoming litters. She also had no issue with me making an update to my preferences after I'd already joined the waitlist. Once she had a kitten for me, she sent regular photo and video updates until it was time to bring him home. The pick-up was smooth and she provided plenty of helpful information about getting him adjusted to his new home. Up until now I'd only ever had rescue cats and so far I've been really amazed by the difference in temperament of a cat that's been raised by hand by a professional. My previous cat was such a sweetheart and I never thought another cat could fill his shoes, but Rye has been really wonderful. Not only is he super cute, he's the sweetest, cuddliest cat I've ever met. He loves to run and play but he he's still docile when picked up and seems to enjoy being held. It's clear that he was held a lot as a small kitten and is very comfortable with it. He's also very dog like in that he greets visitors at the door, plays fetch, and is just generally quite gregarious. I've had multiple friends and family comment on what a great cat he is and ask about where I was able to get such a cute cat with a great personality. Whatever kitten socialization techniques Annabel is using seem to be working extremely well. I've just been really impressed overall and would highly recommend Annabel. I did that 2 hour drive from Hayward TWICE because I am that impressed with her kittens. My mother found Annabel's website and referred me to her. I was instantly hooked with how knowledgeable Annabel is about the Siamese & Balinese breeds.Just through the phone, I could tell that she takes great pride into her kitties. My friend has an adorable and friendly seal point Balinese that I absolutely adore. I wanted one as well! She informed me that she got her cat from Tresor Cats. I was a bit shocked with the price but the fact that her cat is healthy with a great personality swayed to me call. I was initially looking for a Birman but they are not hypoallergenic. I looked at animal shelters and found that the cats there are usually mixed. But how would I know whether the cat/kitten I am getting is friendly and healthy? I'm not allergic to cats but my fiancé has a tendency to react. He doesn't react to my friend's Balinese so that also made me decide on getting a Balinese. I browsed the site to give me an idea of the cat breed and also what I am getting myself into. I highly recommend reading the entire site to learn about the breed (this is really important)! Yes, the price for a kitten is high but you have piece of mind knowing that they were raised well and socialized in a loving home. I filled out a questionnaire and Annabel called me immediately. She was very informative and screens callers to ensure her kittens or cat goes to a good home. I sent a deposit and was on her waiting list. I gave her my preferred choices of gender, breed (Siamese or Balinese), color points, and whether they are lynx or white. It took a few months but I got a call about a male seal point Balinese! Annabel has a very structured schedule for picking up the kittens. She will give you a date/time to pick up your cat or you could have them flown to you. I chose to pick my kitten up because I only live 2 hours away. The kitten (and another) were in a cage playing. He was so small and friendly. Once we got home, he adjusted very well. It's been almost one month since we've had our beautiful Stella! When my husband and I considered getting another cat for our handsome Balinese boy, Nuvolino, there was no hesitation to call Annabell of Tresor Cats. We had gotten Nuvolino from her 10 months earlier and couldn't be happier with how social, intelligent and sweet he is. I'd like to begin this review by stating that all of my previous cats have been rescue kitties and this review isn't meant to encourage people to choose a breeder over going to a shelter or Animal Care and Control. This is about my own personal experience with To-Pher Cattery. My family now includes one handsome Tabby that I rescued from my garden and one beautiful Siamese that I bought from To-Pher Cattery. I fell in love with Siamese cats years ago when I spent a few months with a good friend in England who was owned by three of the chatty and affectionate cats. Some years after that, a very cute and friendly Siamese wondered into my yard and never left. She had a number of health problems over the years which began with teeth (her previous owner didn't get the memo about good dental care). At the end of her long and happy life, I was in debt from the extensive veterinary bills. When the time was right, I began searching for a good Siamese breeder to help ensure that I knew the background and had a better chance of finding a healthy kitten. After must research, I found Annabel at To-Pher Cattery and my chubby, healthy and adorable Chocolate Siamese kitten. While many other breeders were adamant that it was safe to take their kittens home at an early age, Annabel had very stringent guidelines for her kittens. She goes through a very complete telephone interview before she'll even consider taking a deposit on a kitten. It's clear that Annabel wants to make sure that a new owner has done their own research and will also give her kittens a good and healthy life and home. She went over all of the vaccines that would be given and explained that the kitten would be spayed/neutered when I picked him up. To-Pher Cattery is not some massive breeding facility. This is a small cattery run out the family home and it's clear to me that Annabel and her family love Siamese and Balinese cats and want each cat to go to a loving home. She's looks for responsible owners who plan on having their new kitten or cat with them for life. I left Annabel's with a chubby, healthy, affectionate, beautiful and outgoing kitten. I was given all of his health history regarding vaccines and the information as to what boosters I should give and when. All of her kittens are fed the highest grade cat food and vitamins and I was sent home with a complete kitten kit with recommendations on food and litter and health care. All of her cats are also micro-chipped. My kitten, Minou, is now over a year and a half old. He's as healthy and robust as he was the day he came home with me. He and my Tabby are the best of buddies and Minou makes sure that his brother gets more than his share of daily exercise. Siamese are affectionate and extremely active and love to play with other cats and with their adult companions. Like most Siamese, mine loves to meet me at the door and brings his favorite toys to me and/or talks to me when he's ready to play. To-Pher Cattery was definitely the right choice for me and I wouldn't hesitate giving Annabel the highest rating possible. Each Siamese will have its own individual personality. That's one of the joys of owning a cat or a dog...each is different. If you're considering going to a breeder for a Siamese or Balinese kitten or adult cat, I would encourage you to check out the To-Pher Cattery website and to give Annabel a call. We have a wonderful cat that we picked up during July of 2008. She has been a remarkable animal and is very intelligent. We feel very fortunate to have Annabel as the breeder for our cat. Our cat has never been ill and is still very playful after 10 years. She has gone around opening doors and turn lights off/on. When she wants something she stands and looks at you a certain way and will take you to where she wants you to go. She knows the household routine and has never been a problem. She is her own cat but she is bonded with my wife and always seeks her attention or company. She is not a lap cat but Annabel told us she would not be. She does love to sit next to us at times and almost always hangs out with us when she is awake. People should consider that some people are too negative if things aren't perfect to their expectations. I am a very critical person but I think Annabel does an excellent job with her cats. read more

Everything I saw is set up for the health and well being of her kittens. She is an expert on Siamese cats and kittens. If your intentions are good the process is smooth. I dont believe she would sell a kitten to just anyone. My kitten was a smiley, well socialized, litter box trained, beautiful perfect kitten when I got him and now. I drove 5 hours to pick up 2 kittens today. When I got to the house I was so excited to get my kitty's. I i am not quite sure where she keeps them but I'm pretty sure they were in the garage or outside. Her web site said that the kittens are treated like family members and they interact with them daily. What I saw were 2 sickly terrified kittens in a crate. They hissed at me and I was unable to take them out and play with them because they would have run and hid. I doubt these poor guys have been held more then twice. They acted like feral cats. Please BEWARE.... maybe at one time they enjoyed and cared about breeding cats but not now it's just a kitty mill.This house didn't have any cats inside.... so I drove another 5 hours home without the kittens. Pretty disappointed Recap after Annabelle response: I was looking for 2 kittens that we had talked on the phone about. it wasn't like I called the day I drove to the house. I had expected to see two handsome healthy kittens maybe even with their mother. My energy was absolutely positive (maybe a bit too enthusiastic after driving 5 hours to see them) until I saw how the kittens were left in a crate. I didn't want feral sickly kittens, especially for $1900. I was under the impression that they were house cats with some human interaction, but I was wrong. I wanted to see pure bred kittens that were maybe in a playpen or sectioned area, not in a crate shaking with fear and hissing at me. And I've had many lovely experiences with Christie Bird and Diana Dunaway in the past. So if others have high expectations, I suggest looking there first read more

Wow. The review above must be a plant. This is a kitten mill. What a horrible example--the worst of everything you could be looking for in a cat. The kittens are raised in CAGES! They're scared, unsocialized, and she makes all of these claims about what it "costs" her. She doesn't even give them all of their shots because she wants to sell them earlier, yet charges premium prices. This is what everyone is trying to stop. Don't promote kitten mills. I must say, I have purchased two kittens from Annabel at Topher Cattery. One in December of 08 and my recent kitten last month. I flew to her home to pick up each kitten. She showed me around her entire cattery. It was SQUEAKY clean, the kittens were not in cages and they were VERY socialized. I begged Annabel to allow me to have my last kitten at 8 weeks old.
